Just added a 2019 Speed Triple S, because of my 2007 Tiger 1050. Speed Triple is comfortable (surprised at the lack of wind buffet even in triple digits), quick, sounds sweet, I wouldn't mind a little more in the electronics department, but the most important thing about the motorcycle is, I want to ride it all the time.

Perfect review! just never get tired of this beautiful motorcycle. The fact that the straight line performance doesn’t quite match the competition can also be a positive since you can enjoy more of this bikes potential on the road. The handling of this bike is still class leading. One downside I believe you missed is cleaning the bike properly is quite time consuming. Dirt really gets in everywhere! I bought a 2019 RS exactly two years ago, and I still love it!

I had one, great bike, amazing on track, good at touring (givi tanklock bag and ventura rack), I had no problems keeping with a tuono and superduke on track, gearbox can be problematic, with the QS/blipper fitted I had constant missed gears and crunching into gear. Everything about the bike feels premium, it’s a great road bike.

I bought a '19 S, Crystal White, brand new off the floor where it had been sitting for over a year. Here in southern Missouri few people know what a Triumph is. My local dealer is 35 mi away and is also a Yam, Kaw, Suz and Indian dealer so his Triumphs remain his best looking, best finished, in many cases best performing bike brand. Yet they're also his lowest volume brand in the store. I've ridden for over 50 yrs and have owned all Japanese brand bikes until I bought this Speed Triple. I've never had any significant problems with any brand. My most recent bike had been a '19 Yam MT09 - great engine but somewhat "nervous" street handling even with the fully adjustable suspension. Previous to the MT I rode an '05 Kaw ZX10 for over 10 yrs which had been, by far, the finest bike I had ever owned. With just over 5k on the clock the Triumph has been wonderful so far. With fully adjustable Showa suspension (very similar to my ZX10) I have found it remarkable in recreating the "feel" of my ZX while being considerably more comfortable to ride on day long trips. Fit and finish are beyond any of my previous Japanese bikes but then you pay a bit more for it. The engine has been wonderful - muscular torque over a very broad range, more "relaxed" than the MT, more sport touring oriented than the ZX - truly one of the great all-around engines I've had the pleasure of riding with a stock exhaust note that sings my perfect tune. This bike could very easily be transformed into a great sport tourer with just a bit of a screen up front, lower footpegs and higher bars. Gearing is sport touring wide and comfort for me is excellent (that "firm but plush" capability of the better modern day inverted fork designs). I'll have this bike for sometime to come as is scratches all my itches while the new 1200 has become so much more track focused and expen$ive!

Good review and thanks for the "sit on the bike" and "lug test" parts of the video. I sold my Speeding Triple about a dozen years ago simply because I would have lost my license. It is a great engine but in Clint Eastwood's (Dirty Harry) words "a man's got to know his limitations". Doing 65 MPH on 45 MPH roads was way too easy... and too fun! I'm waiting for your Trident review since 80 HP fits my suburban lifestyle.

👍 Good comprehensive review ( even checked how scratch/chip resistant the seat cowl is ) on a great bike. The 1050 engine gives you all the power you will ever need with a great exhaust noise Triumph are trying to clear out the old stock and there is some great bargains to be had on this model. Definitely with you on the keyless ignition, why when the ignition lock is a perfectly reliable and secure place to put your keys do manufacturers design a insecure unreliable expensive key.

I really like this review because you cover so many things compared to others. Usually reviewers only concentrate on the performance side, how nicely bikes wheelie and how they do on the race track. But to me that is quite insignificant because I don't do wheelies and almost any bike with +140bhp is fast enough and I can say it without reviews. Things like slow speed comfort around town, gas mileage etc are more interesting to me. And yes, mileage does matter even when buying an expensive bike because I'm definitely not rich but wanted to buy a dream bike and worked hard to save money for it :) Regarding keyless ignition, I love it. When paired with electronic fork lock (which absolutely no one talks about in their reviews) you only have to take the key out of your pocket when refueling and I personally rarely have to fill up my bike more than once a day so it's not a problem.

I’d agree with most of the things you’ve touched on. It’s my first bike with a tft screen and I really like the screen, a lot. And the turning circle... yes it’s a bit rubbish isn’t it 😂 I also don’t like the side stand. It just feels like it’s going to break, but maybe that’s just me? The comment about the space under the seat cowl ‘you could get a very small sandwich in there..’ I laughed more than I should have. Great video 👍🏼

In the last decade of the five I’ve been riding, I’ve bought three new and one almost new motorcycle. That’s not bragging, it’s confessing. Looking back, I shake my head and wonder what I was thinking. After all, isn’t there a plethora of “demos” and unsold / barely used 2018 -19 bikes for sale? Well, maybe not a “plethora” but how often does a fellow get to use the word plethora? Anyway, a Speed Triple is a real contender for my new “buy anything but new” attitude. Thanks for the insight. That aside, I’d love to hear if I’m an anomaly or representative of a demographic that starting to grow weary of dealership fees and new bikes designed to accessorize, option and farkle a rider to bankruptcy?

I still love my 2016 Speedy and the 2021 spy pics of the reported 180bhp new model look very interesting. This should fit in well with the SDR, S1000R and Tuono. I don't think most people will manage to get the best out of the 200bhp hyper naked bikes like the Streetfighter, though a lovely bike anyway. That's makes the new Speed a potential upgrade for me on the list. I'll pretend I didn't see the rear cowl howl. All the best Andy and thank you for another great review.

I love my '14 Speed Triple R. Yes, it's a bit heavy but I guess so am I. I live in a flat bit of Texas so there is a good bit of freeway riding to get to the good twisty roads. This bike is perfect for those tours, tolerable at speed on the big roads and well worth that effort once I get to the fun roads. I skipped the 2018 version, not feeling it was really worth upgrading. I was excited to hear Triumph are coming out with a major revision, hopefully with a solid power upgrade, not that it really needs more power. If the new version is better I'll get one. If not I'll be perfectly happy riding my '14 for some years to come. It seems quite reliable.

Hi mate, I have a speed triple. You need to go into the settings to turn on the quick shifter. For some reason when the battery gets low it switches off but it is just a case of switching it back on and you are good to go. I replaced the Corsa's with Michelin Road 5's which transformed the bike for me particularly in the damp and wet weather. Big positive for big guys - I am 6' 3" is the mirrors. You can actually see what's behind you. Excellent review..

Would have been okay if they had a solenoid lock for the tank-- unlocking if the key is in proximity for ignition, locking as soon as you walk away. (With the tucked key being a backup in case of battery drain or solenoid failure)

I've owned a 2014 Speed Triple, was a great bike. SW Motech Blaze panniers allow touring. If you ride in all weathers then those Pirelli Super Corsa tyres would need to come off for me......verging on dangerous in really wet weather. Keyless really puts me off this newer model . I own an MT10 and the engine in that completely outclasses the aging Triumph lump and I do think it's in need of an upgrade (it's still a great engine) Leg position for me as a tall fellow felt cramped on the Speed Triple.

Lovely bike, great review as always. One thing regarding keyless: I have a 2019 Tiger 1200 XRT with keyless. What I do is keep the master key on a lanyard around my neck and then have one of the ‘dumb’ keys in a pocket to access fuel tank, top-box, panniers, etc. I don’t have a problem and prefer not having the master key in an ignition barrel. So, for me at least, keyless works well.

Carry two keys when I go riding, madness. If manufacturers use the 'security' of keyless reason, then why no immobiliser and a tracker in the frame. Different in a car with central locking for all doors and flaps. TMF spot on.

Looking forward to a keyless bike. Never remember which pocket I’ve put it in and often forget to look before putting helmet and gloves on. Then I have to take them off, to look in my jeans which are under my wet weather gear, because I can’t see the zip with a helmet on or undo it with gloves!😂

Hey Mr flyer. When using your go pro for the night demo, set it to highest res (4k) 30 fps. This will a allow 1/30 shutter speed giving you an extra stop of light. The higher res will also help. Don't forget to ensure your max iso for the preset used at night is atleast 1600 I have a short clip on my channel if you want to see what that looks like. Might be of help to you

Two weeks into ownership of my 2020 Speed Triple RS in Crystal White. I love it. Unfortunately with winter hitting, I've only been able to do 144 miles on it, but it's really great. I don't mind that it's not the fastest Streetfighter on the market, it's more than adequate. I do agree about the boring colors, but the Crystal White is a fantastic color. Also annoyed that no heated grips standard (I fitted them in my garage the first night) and the fact that UK owners the quickshifter is an option seems silly.

Your 'like to with with' reviews are excellent and very real world vs what we get on launch reviews. Have to agree, Triumphs paint schemes are pretty unimaginative these days..they used to have some great colours! I traded an older street triple for one a few months back, as less than a year old with a number of extras made it a bargain. It had to be white, as flat black with dayglow yellow accents looks cheap and lets the bike down. If you think that area under the cowl is small, wait until a prospective purchaser a tail tidy. The additional wiring and connectors eat into that space even more. I seriously doubt I'd fit anything under that cowl to charge and use that USB port. Once you have the cowl off, you'll need a 5mm allan key to remove the seat..and there are more tools under there..but that makes little sense if you need your own tools to get to them, so underseat storage is a significant downside compared to the street. The quick shifter may have been set to 'off' in the menu. I disconnected the battery to connect an accessory sat nav holder...went out for a ride, no QS. Found fairly well buried in the menus there was a QS setting item. I guess default it's off. Having said that, love the handling, seems to have a tighter turning circle vs the street, feels more planted, love the looks and wanted the twin underseat exhaust, which I have a feeling will go on the next gen bike....always liked the twins on your street and didn't like the single under slung one on my later street. The torque at real world (i.e. legal) speeds feels just as good as my K1300, but feels lighter, so happy with the power delivery as well/ Have to have at lest one Triumph in the garage..plus I 'think' these at least were made in the UK. Not that it matters too much, but nice if it is UK made.
