Hi Stuart, I don't like using too many chemicals to clean my H-D Iron 883, it's the popular black denim version. On the matt black paintwork I use distilled white vinegar, I also use it on the gloss black parts, instrument glass and mirrors etc, it's an all round cleaning product and it's completely natural, my great grandmother used to use distilled vinegar as a cleaner all around her home. The vinegar can be bought from supermarkets for around £0.40p for a pint bottle, so it doesn't break the bank. I spray it over the paintwork and leave it for about 30 seconds and I wipe it off with a microfibre cloth, just a quick wipe as I don't want to polish my matt paint to a shine. The vinegar removes all the road dirt and gives a squeaky clean finish. For detailing my wrinkle black engine cases I used Triple QX maintenance spray, it contains PTFE and stops dust from settling on my engine cases. I just spray it on and let the propelling solvent air dry and it's job done. I buy the Triple Qx in a 600ml can from Huddersfield Autojumble at £2.50 a time, that's the cheapest price that I've found it at. Triple QX Is also available at Euro Car Parts UK stores for £4.89 for the 600ml can.

A lovely job looks great Stuart, but on my current motorcycle a 2018 Tiger 800Xrt I have to use a blower to remove excess water, I purchased a good quality pet dryer which works beautifully for the purpose, then finally I spray with AC50 which does the same job as the products you use, obviously if you want a motorcycle dryer they could cost up to £200 instead of a pet dryer for around £45 a lot of difference.

I've just discovered your videos - Great stuff Stuart, thanks for all the good work! I have a question. I've had a T120 Black since 2016 and kept her clean but hadn't used any protection as I see you advize. This has resulted in the matt black downpipes collecting burnt in crud that I don't know how to safely deal with. Have you any ideas how I could clean this or is it something I'll have to now live with? From now on I'll be adding your "First Stage" protection to my cleaning programm ;-) Cheers. Simon

Stuart - were you dissatisfied with the Matt Finish on the engine covers or just the pipes (I wasn't sure in your video)? Here in California, the weather is mild, so I am not sure I need GT85, but would like some protection against my leg rubbing against the engine covers. Thanks Stuart for pointing me in the direction of Muc Off products for cleaning and maintaining. I can get most of them here in the U.S.

On my old cbr600f I took the rear disc off sandblasted it at work and sprayed a few light coats of silver hammerite over it. You couldn't even tell it was sprayed, it never rusted again in the 7 years I owned it. All my other bikes have had floating front discs so it wasn't a problem but my new interceptor might have to have the same treatment, can't stand rust on my bikes.

Stu, do you ever clean your tyres walls using a de-greaser and then dress the tyre walls afterwards? Bit OCD, though in the car detailing world people use these products to enhance the look of the tyre.

448/5000 Hi stuart First of all, congratulate you on your videos and apologize for my English, since I'm translating it on Google. I have a Bonneville T120 Black and the other day I got some product splashed on my matt exhaust pipe and I can't clean it. I have tried the Muc off mat finish detailer and it leaves it worse. I have seen that you use the GT 85 and I would appreciate it if you would tell me if this product will really suit me to remove those stains. thank you.

Great video, thanks. I've seen many of your earlier videos, and you clearly take good care of your bikes. And I presume you still have the T120, which has a lot more chrome on it, as does my Trumph America. Can you recommend a product cares for chrome, please? Or maybe a pointer to an earlier video where you illustrate this (as I may have missed one!). And one last easy question: you have a distinct accent that I'd like to place. Is it Hull or somewhere between there and Sheffield, or where?
