I remember watching this years ago. Takes major balls to be "the dog puppet poop" guy in a crowd like that. The other comedians are always laughing, though. Classic.

It's almost like the first minute he couldn't find his notes and then he kicked ass.

Triumph is always saying there's always something for him to poop on. He'd say the same thing in the White House, but no one would notice his contribution because the White House and the entire DC area is full of it.

I'll admit that many of those jokes have been recycled from other bits; but the last Rob Reiner jokes absolutely killed it!

Really? Watch dean Martin roasts back in the 60s and 70s.

Damn, this is killer stuff. What a gigantic, stuffy room and he was getting genuine laughs by the end of it.

This was the first Roast I ever seen. I can not find it anywhere now. I would love to see it in its entirety again.

OH MY GOD!!! This is HILARIOUS!! He just keeps going!! The crowd DOES NOT GET HIM!! It's so HILARIOUS!!

Was this the first appearance of Triumph outside of Conan? I love how cold the initial reception was, then everybody quickly warmed up to your style. One of the best performances of roasting the room.

It's definitely an early appearance for Triumph and I don't think the majority of the room knew who/what was going on. On top of that, starting with two "for me to poop on" jokes is going to land pretty flat, if they don't know it's the catch phrase. It's awesome that he recovered.

This was recorded in October of 2000. Triumph had been around since 1997, but he had only appeared on "Late Night" and hadn't become a household name yet. It wasn't until he appeared on "Hollywood Squares" (later that year) that he hit the mainstream.

@@joshcarrico1210 He had made it into a catchphrase for the entire room by the end though. Listen to the laughs get bigger every time. ..and watch Rob. The first couple times Triumph said it, Rob almost looked annoyed. Then Rob Started saying it himself. Then Rob was audibly laughing every time Triumph said it. Even after the first one fell flat, Triumph stared down the audience until just before it got really uncomfortable - and then gave them another one. Robert Smigel knew what he was doing. :)

I couldn’t believe people thought what Rock said was so terrible. Don Rickles and Joan Rivers said 10x more insulting things. I didn’t honestly think it was a total insult. He complimented her by saying he wanted to see the movie, and there was a little sense in his voice that he meant it.
