Well it is indeed true. I have both hilux and triton, and that video is showing the truth bad behaviour of Toyota hilux since first gen. The hilux is for heavy duty loading truck so the rear suspension is more stiffer than mitsubishi triton. You don't have any 4wd car, how could you say this video is made up😳

I read a magazine, where 8 of pick up trucks we're tested in Australia and truly the Triton was at the top of them all. The only drawback was its small breaks. It scored very high on comfort. So ja my statement below I might need to retract. And bases on History it has one of the most reliable engines after Isuzu.

The shorter wheelbase on the mitsy is what won it most of these tests, it also makes it terrible for load carrying cause most of the tray is behind the rear axles.. still impressive tho.

All these tests were designed to make Hilux looks bad compared to Triton. Granted, test 1 looks pretty accurate to describe how good is Mitsubishi's shockbreaker and suspension handle uneven roads compared to Toyota's. Not just in Triton vs Hilux but also in Pajero Sport vs Fortuner.

Blilkkies Blignaut hilux is a nice car. We own one and it’s pretty nice ride.

I own a Hilux 2019 (33") and I believe the roadkill results and the tofu test. The turn radius is huge and the suspension is bit uncomfortable compared to other trucks and SUV. But it is a nice car for offroading.

Me and 7 cousins took a road trip to Wyoming from NY. It was 12 of us all together, so me and 3 of my cousins took our pick ups. We had a Silverado, Ram 1500, Raptor and my TRD Pro. Granted the American cars are bigger and more powerful, my Tacoma was the only who didn’t get stuck the whole trip. It truly is an amazing off road car. My heart will always belong to Toyota.

The Tacoma is an amazing car, but it's a very different car than a Hilux. I've owned a Hilux and it's a terrible car. My dad owns a Land Cruiser and it's a terrific car! I don't have anything against Toyota, but I HATE the Hilux.

@@sullivanl3305 very bad suspension, jumpy and stiff. It's way overpriced for the extras it had. I find the engine to be small for the size of the car, it's a very slow car. I own a Ford Ranger now, it's a 3.2 engine, plenty of extras and a better suspension and a very similar mileage than the Hilux.

How much time we gonna say it depends on the driver. You can't have same reaction on 2 different vehicles!

I don’t know about the handling test and comfort test, but if we go by turning radius and hill assist, then it’s not driver dependant.

Because they don't need to make more, they're earning tons of money by 12yr old Toyota fanboys commenting on how the truth breaks their little hearts

In most magazine tests I have seen, the Triton often sits just behind the Hilux in overall results. Usually the price point is in the Triton's favour. I often see the VW Amarok as top pick. (With Ford Ranger up near the top too)

i own the exact hilux model. fully satisfied with the ride & performance. Triton is a good truck but my heart belongs to toyota hilux

Personal experience: Comfort, overall road reliability and safety goes to Mitsubishi Triton including the Isuzu DMax. What I saw here is true for actual road performance...

You sure reliability goes to triton? We have many of them and they ain’t reliable as hilux. People and organizations including government uses hilux over triton for reliability issues and lack of support.

I have ridden both of this Trucks especially this past models. The comfort is accurate on the Hilux it tends to make you dizzy. I felt less on Triton, Comfort and agile too. But give the rest to hilux.

comparing this 2 truck just like comparing the light of long lasting candle🕯️ & beautiful fireworks that only last very short period of time🧨🎇

On the first two tests I actually agree... The Hilux doesn't soak up bumps in the best way not is it very maneuverable However on the Hill descent control that isn't how it'd perform... The Triton wouldn't do better than it... The Hilux beats the Triton off-road without a doubt... Interesting video

Not accurate mate. Off road Triton is superior hilux. Check out the terrain response system used by the Triton and Google which other van utilises that. U may not be exposed to it but its in a class above

The Triton is very good on road and is light on fuel. I actually have a few gripes with the Hilux on road, the rear passengers seat is uncomfortable over long distances but for its off-road prowess🤔🤔, if I did them back to back I'd make a better judgement.

My Old Man Emu shocks are comfy on road but give better flex off road. I did test-drive the new Hilux and the suspension was fucking awful. No way I could drive that thing stock. Brains would be like that tofu

I like Hilux! It's a reliable ute! But never will I say that the Triton (or Strada here in the Philippines) is an incapable or lesser vehicle. In fact, the Strada is a ute that has a great value for money for its features. The Hilux is ridiculously expensive!

oh it wont do any difference, the hilux is indeed pain in the ass and back when offroad or even on road, its like sitting on a wooden chair. it is stiffer than the triton. go take a test drive and feel it yourself.

I’ve had both personally and the hilux is far better, feels less rickety for sure. Also I must say that the driver is also half to blame for the track test etc as he could’ve taken corners tighter etc to not have to readjust. Nice video though keep it up!

Everyone be complaining about the suspension being stiff but that's because the hilux is better suited to having load in the rear. Smash 500kgs in the back of both and see which suspension set up is better. Whilst they are similar hilux is still a work ute and toyota know that people will mostly have a decent load in the back.

I have test drive both of them the same day in Bangkok motor expo. My first test is Triton and then Revo. But now I have Revo Rocco in my garage.

a.cobcro In my country Toyota has a lot of the show room service this is the main reasons. Well actually Mitsubishi is more options such as 360 camera, rear passing alert, paddle shift at steering wheel, full time 4x4 and cheaper, but still choose Rocco because of my opinion is interior Rocco is nicer and torque comes so fast . Triton is better in summary but I CHOOSE BRAND Toyota.

Hilux since 1960's sudah terbukti baik.. Mana ada pick up truck yg tahan lama engine dan gearbox baik.. HILUX la. Satu Dunia tahu

This is a promotional disaster that tends to cave-in.

Well, turning radius at Triton is 2x 5.6m, while the Hilux is 2x 5.8m. So thats why Triton is superior on slalom test. And the rear suspension of Hilux is as hard as Supercar, no wonder it destroyed the tofu 😂😂😂

I'd still buy the reliable, "uncomfortable" bakkie 😂

that sharp turn proves that u drove it differently on both cars.. u took different angles before turning therefore u will need to reverse in order to avoid road kills..

Nope. Triton has a J line design in rear cab. It's designed to turn sharper than every other Ute.

I agree with Qiao. Triton seems to really turn better than most ute I tested. Next to it is the Navara.

@@Jumjumjumwee the cab design has nothing to do with maneuverability. It's the Triton's turning radius that is 400 mm lesser than that of Hilux's that is responsible (11.8 vs 12.2 meters respectively).

Both cars are great, in my country Triton usually used for fleet segment, because the spare part and maintenance cost are very cheap (in my country), but the hilux is the best when it comes for durability, but the spare part and maintenance aren't as cheap as Triton. (((:

in my country, the triton is 20% less expansive ( to buy ) than the hilux

this is not about the car/truck.it's about the driver's driving skills and how the tofu was made,soft or hard....

Maybe they choose the tofu according to the driver character? soft for mitsus and hard for toyota..? :)))) Maybe they are telling us if you cannot drive a pickup buy a mitsu it will drive like a mitsu mirage...? And maybe this comments section is full of mitsu trolls and they will attack my ironic comment as if there is no tomorrow... who knows...?

It’s is not. You drive and try it both then you’ll understand. Mitsubishi never pay for this video. Search more review and you can judge it. I drive both and knowing this video is not bias.

Hilux só em revenda porque muitos ainda não avaliam de fato a qualidade! A Hilux não passou nos testes de segurança nos Estados Unidos! No teste dos cones onde vc tem que desviar ela capota!!! Também é conhecida como rainha da aquaplanagem!

Thanks for the comparison but after 25 yrs when that triton has been scrapped, melted and turned into a tin box or whatever tht Hilux would still be on the road on 600,000km
