    Love the content! Made a sharpening jig like this a few years ago and I find I use it more than my wicked edge gen 3 also. Only thing I do different is I actually decrease the jig by about a degree when going to the leather. It seems like the leather is soft enough to roll over the cutting edge and can somewhat dull it as opposed to strop it. Yours doesn’t seem to do that, but my belt is getting pretty old I guess! Good work!

    If you're rolling over the edge then it's too much pressure on the stropping belt. You want zero pressure and you're using the compound to remove the burr only. Thanks for watching.

    You can buy wire brushes and just run them against it. I also just use paper towel to remove it sometimes if there isn’t much. Thanks for watching.

    I love your videos my friend 👍 I'm going to order one of those sharpers it's much faster than the work sharp. Even though I can get a razor polished edge on them it just takes too long

    Yup, you’ll find it way faster. If you get multiple holders (the kit linked in the desc comes with 2) then it’s quite fast to do multiple knives. Thanks for watching, Richard.

    Dennis, thank you! Just out of curiosity: is there anything wrong with clear polyurethane on the handle?

    It’s not my preferred finish. It just takes awhile and it’s messy to apply and not get it on the blade. Thanks for watching.

    What's your favorite brand of sandpaper for finishing handles?

  • @TyrellKnifeworks

    @TyrellKnifeworks

    I’m really partial to sandpaper in rolls with adhesive backing for all my sanding. I don’t like having to cut it up into strips. I use DuraGold brand. There are links in my Amazon shop below in the video description. Thanks for watching.

    Sweet...but 26 degrees inclusive or per side 13 degrees? Thx

  • @TyrellKnifeworks

    @TyrellKnifeworks

    We always discuss sharpening angles per side. I use 26 degrees for each side on a hunter like that. Chef knives would be 12-17 degrees per side. Thanks for watching.
