Great video for those out there getting back into skating! Triple 8 makes some good stuff for cheap! When in doubt, pad it out! No same!

Nice review. When the splints start popping out of the wristguards a bit of hockey tape across the join will stop it happening again, and even holds up quite well in the wash. Love that 180 😍😍

I use triple eight wrist guards and helmet. I like the pull on wrist guards. I sweat so much I destroy the Velcro on the the wrist guards. The pull on ones last me a lot longer. I have the sweat saver helmet. It is great. I use 187 knee and elbow pads.

When i bought my first blades i bought the cheapest pads i could find (£5 UK about $7 US) for the set, knees, elbows and wrist. Those pads have easily earned their keep., specially the wrist guards. i still use them coming up to 2 years. They are still in good condition. do the job. havent been hurt too badly (only my wrist last year and that was just a briuse, without them it would have been alot worse) they look very similar to the set shown here. perfect for beginner skaters. i didnt buy the cheapest helmet though all the best

klisher Wow that is a crazy good deal for that price. It really doesn’t take much. A little goes a long way. Helmet is the one thing I do not mind spending a bit extra on as well. Hoping to get a new one sooner or later as the one I have now is starting to wear.

I'm an old guy just learning to ride an electric skateboard and used the tripple8 brand pads, which looked like a known skate brand and not the cheapest thing on amazon. I fell on the pavement with enough forward speed to slide the elbow pads up, exposing my elbow and forearm to pavement. I lost a lot of skin that day and damn did it hurt! The cloth part around the forearm gripped the pavement, while the plastic cap was barely scratched! I'm now thinking about beefy motocross pads, which looks like riot gear armor...

I see. But in our case, I wonder how much better could motocross pads do though... I think another tip is to tighten the elbow pads securely.

@@mint.f2060 They were on tight. Any tighter and it would constrict blood flow. I can see where they'd be fine falling straight down from a half pipe, but not on cement with forward speed. The more I see videos of PEV and Esk8 enthusiasts, the more I see those motocross style pads that cover way more skin. The ones I now have feature articulating joints and cover further up my elbow and down my forearm, as well as the knee pads covering my shins, just like what they're wearing in this vid. Not that I advocate riding like that through a city. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gmuYyK1toMS8qpc.htmlsi=VFf5woCyjkLO8gGy&t=57

I use their wrist guards, I never skate without them. I also have their bum savers. Triple 8 is quality stuff for an affordable price.

I think you might have convinced me to get some bum savers. Might be good for a review. Thanks!

Just by look, I'd say these are just for basic skating and learning. Any tricks that you get air on these would not be protective enough as you found. I'm planning on getting these for basic protection when I don't feel like wearing my park pads.

Nice! I have 3 sets of protective gear at this point and that’s exactly how I use this set. They are the quickest to put on and take off so they always sit in my trunk just in case I need knee pads in a pinch. Hope they work out for you!
