Most of the time to check if the ans is correct which it is u must multiple each bracket mean x time 2x is 2x^ X time 3 is 3x And on and on sorry for not finishing data is running low but 👍

Pro tip , Both brackets will have the same sign as the middle term if the trinomial ends with a positive sign , e,g x - 6x + 8 . This ends with positive 8 meaning both brackets will have a minus in the middle as the middle term is -6x 👍

Another method is using the PAF (Product Addition Factors) 2x² - 7x - 4 the product is 2 x 4 = 8 Addition is the number in the middle -7 Factor is ho we get to the addition number -8 + 1 if you put that all together its (2x² - 8x) (1x - 4) and the rest is the same in the video Hope I helped someone understand it

You could use it. It's just a different way of doing it. The only down side to using an version of the AC method is that AC could become quite large, depending on the numbers in the problem. Once you get good at the method in the video, it can be really fast -- but it does take a lot of practice.

Always remember that the bracket will always have opposite signs if the trinomial ends with a negative sign e.g 2x + x -6 . This ends with minus 6 so the two brackets will have opposite values . The biggest value of your brackets will take the sign of the middle term of your trinomial 👊 Good luck on your papers guys . God is always with all of us 🤜🤛

Yes. He used the numbers he did because of the numbers in the original problem. If you do a different problem, the numbers you put in the cross are going to be different.

Yes, that works when the first and last coefficients are small, like this example. You would be looking for factors of -8, which is -8 and 1. The problem that approach is when the product of those terms are large. Try his method to factor 132x^2 -199x +60, you can find the numbers -144 and -55 quicker than find them in the factors of 7920.
