this was an exhibition match at the beginning of the season. I was on the other team (Bingham Miners out of Salt Lake City Utah we were top ranked in our state and Trinity was top in their state as well) You can't see in the video but we also have a tradition performing the Haka. We were doing our Haka at the same time as they were. The original plan was to be face to face with them doing both Haka's but the league said that we would need to face our own sidelines. We lost the game 42-28. Mad respect to Trinity. Watching this video brought a massive smile to my face.

The Trinity Trojan's won 3 State Championship's between 2004 -2009 and they mostly went undefeated because of all those large Tongans the Dance actually striked fear into most of the team's they played leading to blow out score's nobody wanted to play the Trinity Trojan's back than it was guaranteed injuries and a major loss for there opponents everyone around Tarrant County knew who they were now the team's to be feared are between Allen & Coppell 2004-2008 the Trinity Trojan's were basically the Dallas Carter Cowboys of the 80's a Power House. Going up against them would be like playing the Clemson Tigers or New York Giants haveing a freight train hit you those were some big ass boys back than .

I never said it was universal for WAR DANCE, I was implying that the word in essence is commonly used to refer to dance, The original comment was that IT LOOKS LIKE A TONGAN DANCE, I pointed out that Tongans use the word Haka too, but apparently only Maori do.

Sipitau..You havent seen it all I guess, but true this is done in serious fashion it was done by our ancestors to prepare for war, in this context they are preparing for war (football game) so the context in which the Haka/Sipitau mix is used is correct and I dont mind too much about the actions as they most likely havent been exposed to the war dances like we have.

dont know whats up with all the hate ? this is solid ! You might wanna call it a Sipitau instead of a haka, Tongans use the term Sipitau instead of haka . but other than that , i thought it was good !

Not a haka. Haka is Maori. Those are Tongans. This is a version of a sipi tau, which is a version of the kailao. Calling this a haka is the same as calling a two-step a waltz.

If the team is mostly Tongan/Samoan, why are they doing a haka when that is a New Zealand thing? (I'm from NZ btw). Shouldn't it be the Sipi Tau or Siva Tau?

No, actually, sipi tau falls under kailao. It's a song/chant that can be performed as a kailao. All i'm saying is if you call a Tongan war dance a haka, then you're wrong. Have a nice day.
