I'm in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon which is the zone 8B it's got the best of all worlds, it never gets too hot never gets too cold. I'd say the low to high annual temperatures run from 30° up to the high 80s with of course occasional periods below or above that. The only thing we deal with is lots of rain but the further south in Oregon you go the less rain there is. I find we can grow pretty much anything here.

@@QueenBee-xd1xk I’m in South Carolina and we where we are it is zone 8 b but very hot and humid.. but otherwise nice. We always say we have hot weather and Hotter weather! Lol.. it’s like breathing in jello around August. Looking forward to Oct. and hopefully we won’t be wearing shorts at Christmas! Lol
THANK YOU for mentioning that this took 3 weeks in total. When I first saw the garden with the urns along the west side (is that right?), I was like WHATTTT happened to the super cute candy corn planting with the pumpkins????? Phew - I thought I was having a mental moment. Beautiful job!
For some reason this video more than any other, reveals the scope of effort your overall garden plan reveals. I think it must be the sheer amount of the planting of boxwoods & their care (trimming, watering, feeding, pest control & replacement,) which outlines the breathtaking amount of work required for your property. And the boxwoods are just ONE plant species! Even with an army of caretakers it looks like more than can be managed.

Well said! I DREAM 🤩 of gardens such as theirs, but videos like this remind me what a massive amount of work it requires to keep them as lovely as they do! It takes a LOT of time, not to mention a LOT of budget! For now, I'll remain content to dream!😍

I have been really enjoying the videography. Love the multiple Laura's, the overhead shots, the softness when she cuts flowers, etc. And... here comes Russell. That fur baby Adores you Laura! Love it. Thanks so much. Another great video. xo
I really really liked your idea of extending the wedge garden to the back garden and eliminating the straight driveway! I think it would calm the area .

The Ash Tree is looking gorgeous. I had noticed the Red Point Maples we’re edging to colour up. My favorite time of God!’s Year ! Grace overflowing!,,
I never quite understood why everybody was praising the editing, until this video! A M A Z I N G ! ! !
Good Morning! Laura I love the idea of removing that gravel drive. It confuses me watching so I could imagine how visitors would be confused as well. Plus you score more planting space! Great place for a new fountain! 😃❤🍁🌻
Today is a typical "golden October" day. It's a phrase we use in Germany and it basically describes a sunny, somewhat warm but also crisp autumn day! On such days I love to do some garden work and seeing you getting some of these chores done fills me with motivation! Thank you Laura, your positivity and energy keeps me going! Have an amazing weekend everyone! 🙋🏻♂☀
I like the way you were so clever in starting this project at one time and then saving it for quite some time later to splice it all together. At first I thought it was an older video before you had done the pumpkins in that area but then they showed up later in the footage. Very clever. I love starting my day with these videos! I have told so many friends and Neighbors about your channel and they all have checked on it and love it! You make so many people happy. Have a beautiful beautiful October day.
Happy Friday everyone 👩🌾👍 Greetings from, Still Hot 'n' Humid, Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸 Trimming your boxwood is really a huge chore. Happy Gardening weekend Fellow Soil Warriors 👩🌾👍🌿💚🌿

There nothing like a neat and tidy hedge in the snow. The clean edges will look great in the winter.
I want angel music to play every time the video pans to the Hartley
God is amazing that tree is evidence of that.
That's a lot of boxwoods!
I love this! I didn’t realize how much I’d love a video on boxwood trimming but this was awesome. Great editing too. Russell and Cheddar spotting at 7:30! 💜 💜 💜

Here in Vermont same thing, we have one ash tree left on our farm and it will be coming down next year. We also had a willow that was planted in front of our house by my husband's great grand mother in the 1930's a large branch came down on our roof (miracle no damage, it's still laying across roof still attached to tree with bees nest in it) a week ago in wind storm
Imagine how much we'd get done if we all had four Lauras trimming hedges in front of our barn! 😃

Good morning everyone Happy Garden Friday 😀 😊🥰 🍂🍂🍁🍁🌾🌾🧚♂️🧚♂️☕🌅
My arms hurt just watching this. I was glad to hear that you did it over the course of 3 weeks and not all in one day!
"I tried string once, but I have no patience for that sort of thing". Love how honest and real you are, Laura. I could not imagine doing that in my own garden either as I am much more cottage garden than precise & structured! LOL
And... it will be more effective for the Christmas lights 😍😍
Since some of your boxwoods are struggling with spider mite, do you spray your hedge trimmer’s with anything Before moving onto an unaffected area?

Congratulations on getting through this, I remember you saying this was an ongoing project. Love the idea of changing the drive, I'd have gone straight on too. Another project to add to the list!
It’s somehow soothing to watch so much work being accomplished in a seemingly short time. 4 Lauras is fun and awesome videography. Aaron, you are very talented at filming and editing! Yes, the ash tree is glorious, thanks for including that! Yay for fall colours! 🍂🍁🌻
Nothing like a good hair cut! Loved your slight nod to the Hartley... I can't wait to see all the amazing projects you will do in there. 😍
It looks amazing, but what a big job! I can see why you’re hesitant about adding this kind of maintenance to the south garden.
Love all the edits with more than one Laura in it! Also, what a great time in the year for your garden, it looks ah-mazing with everything lush and happy and with fall colors!
I really liked this video! It was a fun walking the property with you when you perused your garden talking about trimming the boxwoods. I have longed to see the Galloway urn, the Venetian garden, the guara next the fountain, the petunias in pots along the fence and so much more! I love walking my own garden daily & enjoyed the walk in your garden even though it was about boxwood trimming. "Glorious" video! Thank you.
Happy Friday everyone!!! Have a beautiful day
Oh my goodness... the versaille hedge is just Big Boy now! I remember when you planted that!! Awesome 👌
Ohhh the click and point at the heartly ! I nearly lost it .Laura your so funny
Wow, is it just me, or is the hedging so satisfying to watch!?! Looks great (and like a ton of work) 🌺
I’m in Wisconsin and I just listened to a webinar and they talked about boxwood blight in our area and the instructor suggested no more boxwood hedges 😭😭😭 time to move! Lol
Boy I can not believe the changes for these years. You are so talented.
Oh man, the circle in Versailles has really put on some growth. I remember when those tiny plants were buried under all that snow

I'm so glad you ask "how's it goin'?" at the beginning of each video! Seriously! Because today is not good. So this morning, while watching my daily dose of Garden Answer and getting ready for work, I could say out loud, "Not good, Laura! Not good!" and you replied, "We're trimming boxwoods!" ... And just like that, it made me feel a little better. So thank you. ❤️
What’s better than one Laura working in her landscape? Four Laura’s 🤣 love you you do that!
So much work ! I love watching your videos, better that having a planner : “ Laura is trimming her boxwood, I need to do it too”
Oh they look soooooo much better! 😍💕
That is why you stay you stay so slim and trim with all the time in the garden.
Hi Laura :-) Just wanted to say, I`m a professional(Constructional gardener, both plant and stonework) and I never use string. The less things I need to do a job, the better :-) That is what I think at least :-) You learn more when you don`t use so many gadgets(though sometimes a gadget is the way to go! ). I love your videos! I am a perfectionist, and I still watch your videos, after many years. I mean that as a compliment. Your chanel is a rare treasure:-).
Oh my that is a lot of maintenance. I have large gardens on acreage but try to plant shrubs that are low maintenance as in no trimming. It sure is pretty though.
Laura, Please show us the lavender flowers that was behind you. So beautiful.
Hooray!!! Loved hearing your new plan to incorporate the triangle into the back yard. Really would make the gravel area make way more sense. I thought the boxwoods looked alright until I saw them trimmed--what a nice difference. It's been mentioned several times that the lilac is old with more and more dead wood. Time for it to go. Beautiful progress on these areas.

Keeping the old wood trimmed out makes lilacs healthier. Old wood attracts borers.
You did a fantastic job trimming all those boxwoods and made it look easy!!! I like all of your ideas for future projects, such as, incorporating the corner driveway garden into the lawn. Also taking out the lilac and extending the boxwoods. They sound really nice. Yes, the Ash tree looks beautiful!!!
I remembered the egg you have there in Versailles that you showed in a video few years back. Is it still there? Good morning y'all have a great day!😊❤️
It's so nice when you sometimes walk around the property showing things instead of riding in the gator. It gives us a "real time" understanding, like we're walking with you. Thanks for doing that!
Congratulations on your new baby! When my kids were little, I worked in the garden all the time. They had a little play area and would often play while I worked nearby. They're both in their 30s now, and they LOVE gardening - especially my son. I hadn't had any exposure to gardening when I was a child, so I was really surprised when I realized how much it affected my own children. It's a great gift you can give to them! Judging from this video, your child/children will be exposed to plenty of gardening by their mom!
Finally your garden is becoming yours and not the previous owners its looking amazing😊
The most perfect ending to a great video “ugh, October” 🥰🍂
There’s always something to look forward to in your videos!! It’s like your favorite tv series, but you get watch everyday and not just once a week!
Hey Aaron and Laura! I was wondering if you guys are readers, you’ve mentioned books a few times! If so what are your favorite books? Best garden books maybe? I would love to know! Love how lush and carpet looking your grass looks!! The nod to the Hartley and the sigh and "October" at the beautiful ash tree end; completed this entire video! You continue to inspire and make us all better gardeners! Thanks!
What a difference a trim does for those Boxwoods! They look great & they are ready for winter! I am just like you when I trim, I do not use a string - I just follow my eye judgment! I know I have said before but I love the way the videos are edited together! Love the Fall color that is starting in your trees! 🙂🌳✂️🌳✂️🍂🍁
I feel that when you finished them all off, your nightly stroll on the gator must have felt so glorious!! This is so satisfying!
Laura,Laura! I have watched you for the last few years since I have retired and you have given me so much inspiration. My flower beds in my yard have never looked so good…. And yes I love everything neat and tidy…. So when you trimmed the box woods and said you may not clean up the mess and maybe mulch overtop of it…. I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣… Laura always cleans up her mess!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just needed to tease you alittle… they looked great! Trying to keep up with you makes me tired. Keep up the awesome work…. Love watching you everyday!
Who the heck is giving you thumbs down? I will fight them. We must protect Laura and Aaron. They are too pure 🥺 Thank you guys for all the hard work you guys put in. Yall are incredibly inspiring and i love seeing the growth in your gardens and all of the evolving plans but also the patience behind them is awe inspiring. I loooovvveeee it.
Very relaxing watching you do this ( sound off). It's amazing how a simple thing like pruning makes the garden look great. You are an ambitious gal
I was so relieved when you said it took 3 weeks to complete the boxwood hedging! I wasn't paying attention to decorations or anything that would indicate a passage of time and just kept thinking that was an unbelievable amount of work to accomplish. It still was an amazing amount of work to accomplish, but over three weeks seems much more reasonable. They look fantastic.
Oh wow!! I KNEW you had a lot of boxwoods, but didn't realize how MANY boxwoods you had. They just make all your gardens look so neat.
Oh my, what a chore!!! But it looks amazing now🥰
Watching videos like this just make my heart sing. There is something so satisfying about watching her shape the cones. The regular hedges in circles are nice cones that’s what make my soul happy.
Laura, it came to me why I look forward to all of your videos. Your are a fantastic top of the line teacher. You explain and describe everything you do so well. i learn from every video whether it is applicable to my garden or not. please keep up the great work. you are appreciated
I used my hedge trimmer this summer for 1/8th of what you just did here, and I could hardly use my arms for days afterwards. You must be so fit Laura! Gardening is pretty good exercise.

Oh my word! Whew! Glad to hear that 3 week comment! With only a few subtle changes in attire, you made us wonder! Still… you are amazing and everything looks fabulous! And the editing was awesome! Loved the many Lauras! ❤️
Alright Laura!! I knew you had the energy and tenacity to do the work of 3 Laura's. I love this video skills of these work days. You really are the Superwoman Gardener. Even though it took over a period of time. Love all your content
I love the time lapse!! What a difference it makes. I didn't trim mine this year but I'm going to wait until spring like you suggested.
Laura, the speeded up footage really had you looking like a Jet Eye Warrior working her light sabre when you were trimming the cones. I wonder if a light sabre would disolve the cut debris. Now that would be a cool tool.
What in the world?!!! I would need a crew of 10 people to do all this for me. You’re an incredible woman.
Good morning, Laura ☕️ Good gravy, that is a lot of trimming! They’re all coming along nicely 🙌🏻 Spider mites do not sound fun! Your arm must’ve been so tired! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
This is amazing to watch… I watched y’all take out the old hedges and then planting those sweet little boxwoods they are just beautiful!! My my how they have grown ! Your garden has come a long way!!! Just beautiful ❤️
We also had the benefit of getting a quick tour of the gardens ! 😊 Great job!
Daaang just seeing how many there are I am getting tired 😂
I am so glad you mentioned it took three weeks to do all the work in today's video. I was feeling sore just watching you, but I did enjoy seeing the end results. I like the idea of removing the section up your driveway (where people get confused). Then you can start fresh and add your touch instead of trying to incorporate what's already there. Whatever you do, I know it will be great.
Excellent for incorporating the back triangle garden space into the main back garden! it would be a gorgeous lead into the formal garden! huge amount of work Laura with all the trimming - you're so inspiring 🥰💛🇦🇺💕
Im sitting here, sunday morning, drinking my coffee and this is the most satisfying video i have ever seen
Fold in the triangle garden!! I fully believe that if something is confusing / hard to describe / not working for you, change it! Make things make sense. Can’t wait to see it happen 🤣
I love the idea of making that corner garden bed! The berms sound amazing for that area!
Do you ever find yourself in ah and wonder/disbelief that this is your home and property that you get to experience every single day?! You really do have a slice of heaven, it's so beautiful!! I wish I had beautiful gardens like yours, must be such a joy looking all around you ❤️ you and Aaron are creating something truly special and spectacular. Your kids will be blessed growing up there!!!
I love watching Cheddar and Russell grow and thrive in your garden oasis. I remember when they were little things🐱 but now they're Big boys!🐈🦁 Just like mine do, They follow you everywhere! I think they think they're helping us, which in a way they truly are. When I'm working on something "unfun" I'll look at my furbabies and they make it all worth it, you know what I'm trying to say! Thank you for making us feel like part of the family 💚 I'm planting seeds today (zone 12 here) middle FL Keys, its just the beginning of our season!💚 best part of living in the tropics. I have tons of plants so I gave food a try, lol, I'm growing cukes🥒 sweet banana peppers, and I have a volunteer tomato🍅 in our front driveway and a ground cherry aka gooseberry in our backyard🐦But know you gave me the courage to even try. I stuck to what I know forever, but now I'm like why not try!? Its gotta do something 😂😉Thank u for the daily boost of confidence that your videos provides🙏😌 time to plant some Scarlett O'Hara morning glories and tie dyed looking 💛&💗 4 o'clocks! Such pretty plants, I wonder if you can grow them in zone 5? I need to stop talking, 😆 sorry folks!
Oh my word as Laura would say. I would be so afraid of ruining my hedges, but they look so nice. That was satisfying to watch.
What's better than a Garden Answer video? A Garden Answer video with multiple Lauras! It would be fun to have that talent in real life sometimes, lol. Love how your editor superimposes you.
Made me realized I don't like the maintenance of trimming the boxwood. Kudos for Laura for that patience! Anna's Magic Ball is the alternative for me! 😍
