Come along with me to the salon. Let's talk how to have healthy hair conversations with your stylist. We naturally like to vent and gossip during the salon experience but do you discuss health? I'm trimming at 15 weeks post. I discuss resolving breakage and how to properly use Olaplex.

She did an amazing job, your hair looks great. I think being in a beautiful salon with nice scenery does something for the senses and is more relaxing. I trim every 10-12 wks if needed and I do it myself. You're so right about the side part, lol.

Right?! I had no idea I needed this until I had a better atmosphere. I wish I was brave enough to do it myself. Imma learn!

LOL. I wore a side part for decades. I reach 60 and now do a middle part only. But yes..... great job! Beautiful hair!
I relax every 10 weeks. I trim every other relaxer, so at 20 weeks. Both done at the salon. On another note: I'd watch how you're combing your hair to eliminate the problem area in the middle back. Also, I get a blunt cut, too, but I've made a point of asking my stylist to be sure to trim the short pieces in the front. Otherwise, split ends start to develop because that part of your hair isn't being trimmed.
Beautiful hair sis. I usually relax my hair 3 times a year and trim my ends every time I get a relaxer. That has worked very well for me personally.

Thanks for taking us along with you. Beautiful salon view. I trim my hair about every 4 months because I have not found a stylist I trust. Your hair is always so full and bouncy.

It’s hard to find a good stylist! Thank you.
I love your hair. I too prefer the blunt cuts only. It tends to get me the thickest look as well.
Love your haircolor!!
That round brush blow dry technique (actually) frays& breaks the hair, because it requires tension and pulling the hair. My white clients(most) don't care about the blow dry damage cause they want the look, however I wouldn't recommend to my blk clients b/c I know im damaging the hair; Paddle brush drying is better for our hair(Licensed Cosmetologist, FL)

I’ve never experienced breakage from that technique from any stylist. And she’s a Master stylist licensed in NY. When administered correctly it shouldn’t cause damage. Paddle brushes are said to be better detanglers but round brushes are best used for styling. (Mid back to Waist length healthy hair)

I totally agree. I have fine hair and I cringe when I see a round brush. My fine hairs can’t handle all that tension.
I love how you take a very good care of your hair. I trim once a year🤣🤣🤣🙆♀️ and i do this with a very sad face because i hate to lose some length..

Your hair looks amazing✨✨💫. I trim hair myself when it needs it and it’s usually a dusting. I have layers so I’m concerned about the heath of my hair by not it being totally even. For me, it’s less pressure. 🌺🌺 Your video was so well done! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That was satisfying to watch!

I trim at every relaxer. I just prefer it that way

About the same. I typically trim the week after to ensure it gets done.
1.That's true what you said about the average black salon. 2. Olapex is hela expensive 😭 3. Why can't my hair ever be bouncy after straightening? I've tried just putting just heat protectant but it's still stiff after a few passes with a hair straightener.

Ha! Yes it’s pricey. I just started using it last summer and I’ve had long hair without it. A hot oil treatment or aloe Vera pre-poo before washing are also good options.
Amazing stylist!

I get a dusting at the salon with every relaxer - usually every 11-12 weeks. I typically ask her to take off a little more every 6-8 months or so for shape.

That sounds like a good cadence! Shape is an important factor too!
i saw the side part.... but since you are so gentle to show the process i will let it slide this time
Wish this place was in northern Virginia

Yes. She used Mizani 25 Miracle Milk.
Nice!!!!!!!! I always cringe though when I see them untangling. Lol.
Your ends really are not bad, but taking care of it never goes wrong.
Hi there New Sub Alert! 🥳.... Your step by step process its what attracted me to yew, while the way yew get straight to the point is what actually made me subscribe 🌻❤️🎈. Quick Q.... How often to yew flat iron your hair?
@kristenstikes
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subscribing. Very rarely. At the most a couple times per year. I typically skip flat ironing when i get it trimmed once per quarter and just have it blow dried.
Hi! I have this middle fraying issue as well. Did she provide any insight to why this happens?
@kristenstikes
3 жыл бұрын
For me it’s been moisture. I have to purposely moisturize and seal my hair starting in the back so I don’t forget it. Then I also wear braids under my wigs and there’s been times when i braid the braids together right in the back and don’t moisturize the big jumbo braid well.

Me either. I can’t correct any mistakes. 🤣
I am a licensed cosmetologist nobody's hair is all the same length she is not cutting the proper way she is supposed to part your hair and trim as well, if you requested your hair to be cut this way ok..but most stylist do not and will not cut this way. However your hair looks beautiful and turned out nice.
Thank u for the advice. Im new to the relaxed community, and unsure of alot of things. Ur hair looks amazing. Where is this stylist located?

u literally didn't have to bring up the side part issue with gen z's ....I'm 16 and literally wasn't even thinking about that. u just sounded really sassy in that part. it was quite unnecessary
