It’s all in the hips
I find that running around the table 3 time counter clockwise helps too. It has to be counter clockwise though! Then write 'trjicon' on some parchment and burn it then throw the ashes down a freshly dug well...yeah...uh huh...

Thanks for your video. Good info.
Great video ! Thx 🙏🏼
The Sage dynamics guy does this exact same method when installing rmrs except he uses a sledge hammer.
I saw on the DR920 War Poet handgun the extractor was redesigned so you can do full size screws on both sides. Planning on grabbing a war poet asap.
I find it weird that Trijicon recommends Duracell, but my RMO6 came with an Energizer.

Yup. It's most likely a contract that someone high up made and the lower levels can't change.
When I put the battery in I put the month and year on that side of the battery. It lets me know just how long I have left that battery in the unit. I set up my calendar to replace them once a year but sometimes that lapse of paying attention allows those batteries to stay in for two years. When I open it I catch my mistake.
Neither Energizer or Duracell make lithium "watch batteries like the CR2032". Sony and Maxell make most of the batteries in the market and they also manufacture for other brands with their name on it. Energizers have the Made in Japan on the battery. I sell watch batteries and Japan makes the best so as long as it's a Maxell or Sony you are good to go and have a long shelf like of at least 5 years. Also the Chinese brand GP in lab test performed very close to Sony and Maxell so they are also a good choice.
I wonder have any other electricians out there done the lazy move by pulling a couple 6-32's from a switch cover and just snipped one down to size using wire strippers with the built in screw shears.
Hi Jon. I called trijicon once to ask about locktite on the screws and they told me no because of the possibility of getting locktite into the channel where the extractor plunger rides.

Where can I find a set of mounting screws that have the shorter screw
How does it do with water, being exposed like that on the bottom?

Great video! Thank you. I like the way you seated the RMR. Also the tune ups for the gen 1
While looking at the type 1 RMR and hearing they have connection problems you showed me the plate. Would you think that the "dimple" in that plate should go up and now down. Up to add more pressure to the battery. Putting it down against the slide does nothing for battery tightness. Your paper did that job. Ask around and see if that "dimple" is supposed to go up against the battery.

That's what I was thinking, too.
Would that plate work with a type 2? The website says for type 1 only but I’m curious

Hey Jon, what back up sights are they? Do you know the depth the RMR was milled too? I really like how low yours sit while still being usable. Thanks

I don't know the exact depth to this one. Dp custom can probably answer that. I know that Agency Arms mills to .150 if I'm not mistaken. The sights are Ameriglo Suppressor sights - bit.ly/2OfAVD3

So do I need a rmr plate or can I just slap the red dot on screw it in without the plate?

You talking about the sealing plate? No, it's not needed but I prefer to have one because I live in a humid area.
What are the correct length of screws? My slide is milled for 6-32 but the length was off from the screws provided by trijicon and the one side was on my injector pin.

Depends on who milled your optic. Some places mill at different depths.

@@fariseomartinez9998 You can buy an MOS system which comes with plates to match the footprints of all different RDS pistol sites or, the preferable way, you send your slide off to be milled specifically for your optic.
I got my slide machined from battlewerx and couple years have passed now and I cannot get my RMR off. When I installed it, it was such a tight fit I had to use a vice and some rags to slowly slide it in and not scratch it up. I tried the samething getting it out but with no luck. Any other advice to getting it off?

@KineticConsulting

Energizer batteries don't take shock very well and deform very easy. They are inconsistently sized which doesn't help with the battery connectivity. Duracells have a much better track record and qc.
shouldnt you degrease the rmr plate?
@KineticConsulting

You can, I don't. I like to keep a spot of protectant between the plate and slide. I like in a humid place though. So that's up to you.

If ur optic can’t handle a little tapping than you got a sh*ty optic 🤣🤣🤣
A lot of wrong information 👎
I stopped watching this when he put the sticker on the battery
Dudes just use VC-3 not loctite.
It is bizarre to pay Trijicon $500 for an optic that doesn’t come with a crucial piece such as a sealing plate. Like wtf is that. I’ve never had to do that for any other red dot. Get real trijicon…First and last RMR that I will buy. Better last for life.
