In game two, when Trickstars used Transcience on a Meluseek attacking directly,and Protocol was chained, Meluseek still loses the ability to attack directly because Protocol only protects avtivated effects, not permanent effects. That also means that Protocol can't protect Altergeist effects if Transcience was set in the same column as Protocol.In such a case, shouldn't a replay occur because Meluseek lost the ability to attack directly and now needs to target the Candina with the attack (or stop the attack)?

yeah this is correct, impermanence is still able to resolve on meluseek even though protocol is applying, then also negates protocol. by the time meluseek's effect resolves, protocol is being negated by impermanence and is no longer protecting meluseek, so meluseek's effect is also negated

foji-video what lock lmao Droll reincarnation only prevents your opponent from searching cards (unless they wanna lose their hand). It does nothing vs players who can set 5, it's really bad vs altergeists

Awesome commentary! An interesting match there, certainly a few possible changes to see but great to have the conceptual ideas from you guys over the top :D

This is why I can't play so many hand traps. Stopping your opponent potentially going second is one thing but I'd rather have my combos and board building

Actually in game 2, Meluseek's effect to attack directly would still be negated since it's not an activated effect (protocol only protects from activated effects) provided Andrew activated impermanence at the end of MP1 which seemed like he did, so he should've been in a much better position with Candina still on board.

That was my bad on the read and bad on the players for not checking too carefully.

damn, that one turn game 2 where he had a free link , forgot to activate light stage, then didn't make the play, that was actually game right there, stun, pheonix, clear the linkuribo, reincarnation, attack with candina, nvm, he made it there

He doesn't chain the Scapegoat in G1 because you can't Scapegoat in damage step which is when Meluseek's effect activates (which is SUPER ANNOYING, for the record) and probably judged that he'd rather keep one of his two sets than pre-emptively flip Scapegoat and lose his other set for sure

I think there was a misruling. Shouldn't the infinite impermenance negate protocol's cont. effect in the same column on top of meluseek's ability to direct attack? I know protocol prevents the activation of altergeist cards and effects from being negated on the field but the thing is, neither the meluseek direct attack effect nor protocol's continuous effect activates. The II should have successfully stopped the meluseek's ability to direct attack, regardless if it was in the same column of protocol or not.

Trickstar player coulve won g2 a turn ealier. Literally facepalmed when he passed turn. Happy he won since we play the same deck but felt bad for the other dude. Didnt get outplayed. Just got hit with evenly :/

Jorge Garcia Evenly is a stupid card and I don't care what anyone says lol. The fact that a single card (who's activation requirements aren't hard to fulfil) can essentially banish ur opponents entire field is stupid.

wow andrew thinking so long at 27:00 when all he had to do was stun the set with stage, normal the orge make the phoenix, activate reincarnation, atk with phoenix(becomes zero with link kuri) then banish the trap for candina and atk for game ;)

Why in the heck andrew activate EM ? Villager of spellcaster does not let you activate spells only if tyler controls a spellcaster...linkuriboh is cyberse , so was tyler that couldn't activate spells , this make no sense to me.

Tyler is really bad, in game 3 when Andrew activated evenly he banished his secret village and kept a solemn strike. The solemn strike was kept for the multifaker he had in hand but the problem is it is vulnerable to light stage which there are 9 copies of in a standard trickster deck. If he had kept the secret village Tyler would have kept the game in a simple state, drawn into a trap and would've been able to go off from there

There was no spellcaster on board therefore keeping the secret village was completely irrelevant. keeping strike at very least protects from candina if thats the only line of play available to the other player. Probably should know what the card does before you make a comment there bud :3
