Tricking a master by coloring white wine to red!

I colored white wine to red. Will the master be fooled by wine coloring?

At this point you need to reset his radar, by having his taste a perfectly normal bottle of wine, but say you've done something to it to throw him off, when nothing is actually off.

There’s a study that showed a group of people who thought two glasses of wine from the same bottle were two completely different wines because they were served at different temperatures. Could you test with Peter to see if this study is true? Or maybe it’s made up by the newspaper?

It would have to be blindfolded. Too weird to be served a chilled red or a room temperature white. That would set off all the alarm bells! That's even one aspect of this game that they didn't really focus on. You wouldn't normally drink a white unchilled, so just being warm probably helped the Chardonnay camouflage a bit more as a red.

  • @jdavis234

Wine should really be served at the proper temperature as with anything else. You don’t learn the flavors of wine served at wrong temperatures. You shouldn’t drink it at those temperatures either. Thus it’s not very identifiable. The study is a bit pointless, IMO.

Dude, to be honest I don't even know how I got to your channel but this sparks so much joy in me. I used to have wine tasting evenings with a good friend/colleague of mine who was much like Peter in character and who sadly passed away because of cancer. A long time I didn't dare to do a tasting again with friends because it reminded me with so much grief of our times together. Your channel and your enthusiastic tastings with Peter give me the courage to break through the fear and celebrate wines again. Even a wine tasting with cheap wines at a bbq with friends lets you experience the beautiful world that wine has to offer and most of all enjoy life just a little bit more. Thank you so much!

This is the " fat ", i don't exactly how you call it in english, in French this is " Le gras " or we're saying " Le gras du vin ". That mean " The fat of the red wine " if i have to translate it word for word. We call it Gras or maybe Fat for english people, be cause the fat make the Red wine stick to the glass and slide slowly when " shaked " it in the glass ^^ The more Gras it is the more it will stick to the glass, even in the taste you can see the difference.

Hello Jay! Stumbled across your video and I must say I enjoyed the content! About ten year's back I took part in a study looking into sugar contents of wine. During the tasting we were served a single wine with altered sugar levels. The sugar levels to my knowledge were controlled with a simple syrup (you probably want to have a fully concentrated syrup tho). It was interesting to see the difference a little sugar makes. Just an idea for a possible future wine game. Cheers!

A fun idea could be infusing other things into wine (like how you would infuse Gin), and see how different the wine becomes. It would be interesting to see how much the flavour changes and see if you can trick Peter into thinking it's something completely different.

I love listening to experts no matter in what field since I learn so much. If I would have tested it my self I would most likely been fooled even though I hate white wine and love red, I would just have guessed it was a tasteless red one. The tannin and the body is what I love from the red. I'm a bartender (with around 140 bottles of spirits in my own bar once upon a time) but definitely not a sommelier. I personally really like the Sangiovese grape but this channel that I just found is great for exploring new areas for me. I like to make my own fruit wine (not on grapes as I like in cold Sweden) and it is fascinating to listen to an expert exploring taste, smell and looks. Will use this knowledge this year when I make my next batch. This channel was an inst-sub! Thanks to this insight I will make 4 or 5 batches and mix the result instead of mixing my fruit and berries from the beginning. I have been an expensive Scotch guy my self but I see that it is time to explore the expensive wine side now. Trying to grow grapes too but they grow so slow here. Absolutely love the chemistry between you guys. Envious of the great times you have!

@@Vi-pv3xi I love how much your name matches up with your comment!🤣 the answer is mostly no, but it would definitely help when the answer is yes. Although I can safely say that it does not help with reaction games like beat saber, but it is good for a weekend with distant friend in games like Poker Stars VR or movie night in Big screen. I'd also recommend one or two shots before playing the Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, or any game with jump scares for a slightly more enjoyable time, it slightly turns off that part of your brain which is constantly reminding you it's just a game.
