The wiring harness that you used to tap into the tail lights, (not the trailer connection) was that provided with the bar or did you purchase separately?

great tutorial vid, nice duramax especially the camper shell! question: at 8:33, you mentioned how you ran the green wire for the right hand turn signal detection. did you need to also ground the green? or just ground the green right hand using the left side turn signal ground? adding this OPT7 to a nissan frontier 2WD (no tow hitch/connector) so i just wanna make sure i hardwire it correctly. thanks again!!!🛻

Thanks! No extra grounding. Once wired from the light to the light bar it is grounded and completes the circuit. The topper is awesome. I'm regularly asked about it while out and about. Can't recommend them (this specific brand) enough. EDIT: This bar eventually failed and I replaced with a much less expensive flexible adhesive one which has worked out much better. Yep, still works great. Towed across the country, too.

Did you need to use a module adapter? The website is telling me I need one Beto have a rear view camera and bumper sensors. Thanks

I never got an adapter, it just taps the non-canbus voltage signals from the 4-pin harness. If there's voltage, like the brake lights being on, the voltage turns the lightbar on. Not sure why you'd need any sort of adapter or middle-man? My truck has the camera and rear sensors although I have an issue somewhere in my sensor harness.

Without a doubt it is. I have one and boy does it help out. Honestly would’ve loved to bought it and installed it myself so I could’ve wired the reverse to a switch as well so I could turn it on when I need extra light at night.

This bar broke. I replaced with a strip. Not terribly more but mine is aimed down. If you need more reversing light I'd recommend adding cube LEDs.

Did you ever figure out if and how the sequential lights work with locking and unlocking the truck. After I installed mine, it flashed on unlock with the rest of the lights, but after that it never did it again. Thanks

When I had it wired to the trailer connection there was a delay. I think by the time the signal gets to the trailer receiver there's a delay and then the lightbar expects a longer pulse to get the flashing going. When I wired to the tail light directly the delay went away and there was consistent output from the lightbar. I forget if it's sequential, though. I will check later.

My red running light comes on but not the sequential. It seems the first pulse isn't long enough to activate the logic in the bar and only sometimes barely does. But the pulse is too short to make it go full sequential. I think another bar with a different logic board would be required. It seems the second and continued flashing pulse is enough to trigger it.

Good video man. Any issues with the lights since install?

Thank you! Nope, none at all. I just towed across the country, too. The only real issue is that it showed me how bent the inner top part of the bumper plastic is and I hate seeing that haha

If your S10 has a 4-pin trailer connection use that or hardwire it similarly as I've shown. The basics are the same. You'll just want to make sure the width of the light bar is the same as your tailgate.

why didn't you just tie into the trailer harness on the back side of the plug beside the license plate? I figured that would be the easiest and then just run the reverse wire to one side.

Didn't want to mess with the trailer harness or have anything plugged out the back, but that could work.
