Check the hybridisation of Ni. Nickel's oxidation state in Ni(CO)4 is zero. Since that is the case, Ni has configuration [Ar]3d8 4s2 and after hybridisation, it has no vacant d-orbital. Therefore it has sp3 hybridisation which is tetrahedral.
