Tributes to David Letterman, Part 13 of 31: John Mellencamp 1985, 2015
To commemorate the 5th anniversary of Dave retiring from late night television (his last show was on May 20, 2015), I've put together a series of "first and last" appearances, the latter paying tributes in their own ways to the last giant of late night (h/t Jason Zinoman).
Part 13. John Mellencamp
1. October 26, 1985
2. April 27, 2015
The 2015 guest appearance comes from Andrew Lynch's superb KZread upload, linked here: • Video

@politicaloutsider413 Haha, Bruce has a few good songs. Glory days is good. He doesn't have close to as many great American classics as John Couger Mellencamp! Nice try though.

That was part of the Tri-State Special, where a helicopter followed the path of Larry Bud’s route. The sound was real.

That Gibson acoustic should be in the Smithsonian some day...
How pathetic that he can't go without a freaking cigarette long enough to appear on Letterman. Thats so weak and sad.
