Lambile, you were such a calm and peaceful boy when we met you last year, already showing more and more signs of the TB that was taking away your strength. You may not have been a Tintswalo Boy from the start, but you surely felt like one when we met the 3 of you. I feel so blessed we got to see all 3 of you last year🙏🏻 I hope all your pain is over now and you are at a better place, roaming free forever (hopefully without any fights up there) with all the other great lions we have lost! I'm still glad the tintswalo boys took him in!! They helped give him purpose n a somewhat better life than he may have had being nomadic!! He truly had a family!! Truly shows alot about this M'biri pride..they let Ncile hang around and eat scraps till he got better n they took a nomadic Lambile in as well!! Shows alot bout the pride!!

You always know these days will come, but it makes me very sad to hear of Lambile’s passing. I was lucky enough to spend a few days at Tintswalo in 2022 and with Lambile, Mandevu, and Ncile. They were awesome lions!

Thanks for this beautiful tentative tribute to the stunningly beautiful Lamile Male😘🦁 I take much time to accept death if there is no corpse, but the thought of his demise is sad😢 I've wished that Lambile could and would reunite with the Last Lion Sanding of the Tumbela Coalition. It looks like he never stood a chance with this coalition and pride to develop his Legend and Legacy. Could his brothers have dominated him any worse? Surely the Mbiri Lionesses were initially hostile in protection of the Orpen Youngsters🐾🐾 If Lambile were Human, he'd do well with the ladies😉

I've never gotten teary eyed over any lions death but this one got me rip I hope this makes the coalition stronger I really enjoy watching these lion 🙏

Quite sad that no news of Lambile has raised since a month and half. How could have this tall brave boy gone leaving no sign of disappearance... 😢 His time was counted from the day he had tb, this unfair desease takes most of the lions it touches.☹️ When are humans going to decide to treat tb for any single animal of their parks and reserves infected ... I understood this has a cost and a small tax paid by visitors could probably compensate the developments of adapted vaccines. Please doctors and vets,... ACT !!! TB is very hard to treat, and lions even more so. With the treatment we have now, I don't see how it would be possible. Doses have to be taken like 4 times a day every day for months and it's not guaranteed to work. How can that be done with lions?

Rest in peace Lambile, may you reign eternally in the Lion heavens. You are gone way too soon, you were one of my favourites, every time I would tune into the weekly episodes. He always seemed to me like he was the peaceful one. I am deeply saddened by this loss. I really could have never imagined writing a condolences message about Lambile as I never expected him to go so soon although he wasent exactly in the best physical shape the last time I saw him. Rest up King.

So sad to hear this. I found out he had TB when another commenter pointed that out to me when I queried about his small frame several months ago...so I know he had it, but I don't know how that disease progresses...fast or slow, or maybe it's different according to each individual lion. Regardless, it sucks. We need all the lions we can have out there. May he RIP.

TB Can be carried without activating for a very long time. Any kind of stress, mental (infighting in the coalition, outside lions, etc) or physical (injuries, not having enough food, etc) can lower the immune system and then TB becomes active. When things snowball, such as when activation makes it hard to keep up with the pride and get food, things can progress VERY quickly. I wish they could find a cure!

Somehow Sir, your heart wasn’t in this tribute. Lambile, riddled with TB, yet managing to squeeze out some good years there. Not the chief lion but carrying the name “Tintswalo” and a support to the pride, etc. Such a handsome lion who like so many of the 5 brothers he had, would succumb to his disease too early.

Had the bovine TB also he was taller than the tintswalo boys so he always looked really skinny for that as well
