I’m big on Bose, but damn, for the price difference, I’ll buy the black speaker, Stormbox

Hey DLX, great review as always. I do wonder if there are still any wireless speakers with a longer form factor. I like these more than speakers in this mono formfactor (whether it's something cheap like the JBL Go/Clip of more expensive options like the Teufel Boomster Go, Bose Soundlink Micro or a budger figer variant like this Tribit). The longer formfactor (basically a mini soundbar) has the advantage of not only having two drivers implemented in them, but because there's actually a reasonable distance between then, you'll actually get a better stereo experience. It's great while working and having the speaker/soundbar at the end of your desk or underneath your monitor. Right now I'm using a Trust Vigor Soundbar at home and a Teufel Bamster at work. I wonder if there are some higher end options available in this formfactor. I ordered the Maxsound Plus from Tribit, but that's just too short and the audio from both drivers merge into one.

I find the tribit to sound a little strange, like "boxy" if that is an audio word, Boses sound signature is a little smoother. Its great to see cheaper brands stepping up their game as Bose think they are so high up the ladder maybe they might lower their prices to compete..probably not

I heard a slightly muffled sound from the tribit too. I agree the Bose sounded a little bit more true. It’s subtle for sure!

I just bought the Bose last week sounds great but it loses clarity and power after 60% volume plus the batt life is weak. Just returned it and bought two orange tribit stormbox’s and had $10 left over for a Gram.

I prefer the tribit as the audio quality is not bad comparing it to the bose which actually costs twice as much. I can get 2 tribit stormboxes for the price of 1 bose and have a very high quality volume. sorry if there are mistakes but i'm italian and i can't speak english perfectly🙃

Okay but can you take CALLS through the Tribit? That's my big seller. Everything else puts me in favor of the Tribit of course... but really need to be able to make those Bluetooth calls / hands free connection to the phone during my bike ride.

Tribit´s clarity is better and the treble is nicer. Bose sounds somewhat covered. Bass is comparable. Tribit is a FANTASTIC speaker for its size and GREAT value! The sweet spot for Tribit is at around 40-60 % volume level.

The Bose sound is more... branded. I don’t know, it’s more biting, rubbery, collected at one point. With a stormbox, it seems to burst out in all directions, but it sprays. There is no such clear, accentuated bass... All branded acoustics would be clearer. All frequency differences are artificially colored, but it is pleasant to the ear, listen to the comparison between marshal and tribite. you will understand.

Tribit sounds better. I tested a Bose micro in a store before, i boug a Tribit and it sorprised me with a good bass and clear sound, more than i spected

@@guidomeda6330 if you want a really balance sound with good bass in a tiny portable box with a strap. I think worderboom is louder but the sound is not flat and the bass doesn't go has deep as the stormbox micro. You get like 60hz with tribit and the worderboom goes to 85hz.

I own both. got both because my bike is painted orange and black tiger stripe. No difference in sound quality. I went to the store and compared it to the bose and the jbl flip 3. I preferred the tribit. Plus the price is unreal. I was able to get two for $70.

Bose has a bit balanced sound, but Tribit has a more defined sound. More bass, especially on the lower freqs. Intresting. For the money? Tribit! 60 hertz is the lowest you can hear form tribit while bose is about 70.

Why has no one done xb12 vs tribit micro -Nvm, I see why now. I really had hopes the Sony would trounce the bose.

Tribit have more low bass like 60hz, but bose have more 120hz. On mids both are equal and on highs tribit is better. However, at maximum volume the tribit is can handle pretty well the sound and the bose looks uncontrollable.

I have both right now and the sound difference is there, but, i went to paint outside and my bose got a little paint on it. I could whipe it off with some nail pollish remover with out any difficulties. If it was the tribit, the fabric would have made it almost impossible to clean . That was something i never thought about until it happened to me. So in that aspect bose micro takes the credit.

LOVE the speakers for sound , but a BIG BUT, they are crap for calling, the sound is very low and you sound eco on another side of the call , so if you are buying them for also making or receiving call FORGET IT besides this, they are damnnn good, so you could of mention this , just saying lol

True. And if you have bose soundbar 700 like me you can add the Bose micro soundlink as a surround sound speaker. That's why i buy bose micro soundlink.

Bose overall win and can listen in long hours, tribit wins at price and mids but long time listening is pain in the ears.

StrormBox has that cheap tinny sound to it... guess that's the difference in price... and especially if you want to use it in the shower that bose would be even better I guess

The main difference is the tuning, bose used more psychological appealing tuning, with heavy lows and sharper highs with reduced mids. The Tribit is tuned to more accurate to the original recorded sound with a more balance between lows mids and highs, which makes it a preference type thing.

The Bose just sounds muffled. I had one, and found it quite underwhelming. The tribit has a more accurate, revealing sound. The bass on both is good, but not as good as the larger speakers.
