"We don't feel like eating plain toast prescribed by doctor. But if he prescribes us this then we'll act sick four extra days to eat this." - I loved this 😁

The superlative expressions. The more they can create a story around it, and embellish it, the more happy they were about the dish.

Doctors over here prescribe bread or kichri for a few days, instead of roti, for ppl with tummy issues. Any doctor who prescribes less than 6 to 10 types of medicine & dont ask to avoid certain foods for so many days is not held in high regard!
Something that wasn’t translated was Mehboob saying that besides the taste and texture, it’s also cheap to make, so it’s perfect.

I think there should be a new channel or a sub-division / playlist of the current channel just for "tribal people make/cook" where they're trying their hand at making simple foreign dishes [and then trying them]... I think these videos are fun. Especially since they get to see exactly what goes into the food and learn how it's prepared, then they get to try/taste it themselves after they've made it.

Typically they make unleavened bread, without yeast or self-raising flour like roti. Western white bread is not a staple there as far as I know. The texture etc. is totally different.

It's actually smarter to teach them how to make simple foods as to expand their view of the world. You stop thinking tribal when you start pondering about the world and its cultures. Instead of inward conservative thinking, you think of possibilities and the steps needed to achieve it. Even with resource limitations, people can be creative in many ways.
Love Mama's little smile as he cooked! He was so pleased with doing it himself, and you can tell he's no stranger to a frying pan.

I think his mind was also blown that it was so good despite being so simple. Just a quick egg/milk wash, with some sugar / vanilla / cinnamon added, and fry it up in a pan. Not terribly complicated, but a delicious end result... There's a reason it's extremely popular in the US and Europe...

Hello everybody. Greetings from the little islands of Trinidad and Tobago
I think this format is a real winner. The cast get a real insight into how something is made and there's a new dimension added where they've actually prepared the food they try instead of being exposed to something brand new
Thank you! You are wonderful cooks and follow directions well :) I am going to make this for my Mother and me tomorrow for lunch. She is 95 yrs old and I am 70yrs old and this is a perfect lunch for us to share on a beautiful day.

I love them all, but Mr. Mustafa is so adorable and seems like such a sweet man!
It can be fried in ghee. It doesn't have to be butter. Most Americans have refrigerators to keep butter cold, so they don't take the further work to cook butter down into ghee for long keeping saving the oil from butter. If you don't have syrup, you can top it with sliced ripe mango. Another way is sprinkle it with lemon juice and then sprinkle it with powdered sugar. In winter, you can cook some winter squash, smash it up into a kind of mush & then add some jaggery and cardamom or cinnamon to make a sweetened sauce for french toast.

It was funny to me that Manzoor said he wouldn’t make it on the weekend because it takes time to prepare. French toast was something my siblings and I only ever got to eat on weekends because we didn’t have school and got up a little later, and our mother could take the time to make it for us. French toast and pancakes were mainly a weekend treat for us.

Indeed a perfect word to describe it: MIND BLOWING!!! 😂

This was marvelous!! Watching them cook was quite interesting. I do make French toast, but I don't add the sugar to the egg mixture. I serve mine with either maple syrup or with fruit jam.

Mind blowing, mind blowing, mind blowing, “ control dude “ 🤣🤣🤣
I love watching all of you
I love it when they all like a dish. French toast is the first thing I learned to cook in grade 4 and it was quick and easy for after school when I was a teenager for myself and siblings.
Mind blowing, mind, blowing, mind blowing.... control dude 🤣
Lol I love the guy trying to take the syrup. It’s nice to see other cultures try foods they don’t usually have in their culture. It’s sad to know they don’t have access to ingredients as easily as we do in America.. makes me very thankful for the fact that we do have access to it as easily as we do
Watch these people attempt simple tasks we can do without looking is fascinating. It’s like the common mundane thing we do in the kitchen is complex to them.
MIND BLOWING!
love it, when they cook it
"control dude" LOL they remind me of my family too much

American toast ? French toast? --- we call them "Arme Ritter " and the first recipes go back to the 14th century . So that is a very old recipe. You can make it salty or sweet.

We call it Rabanada in Brazil. It is a recipe that came from Portugal to us.
You know the dish is great when it’s nothing but compliments from Mama! Everybody looked like they made it pretty darn well too!
The old French original is pain perdu, "lost bread" which was stale brioche or baguette but made a nice leftovers dish when prepared like this with egg, milk and cream, flavorings, and then fried in butter. In the US, we've made it fancy and complicated at restaurants, but at home most people keep it simple with a bit of warm spice and sugar as flavoring in the egg and milk, then butter and maple syrup, or even just plain. I like a lot of spice in the egg/milk mix, but then I put orange marmalade on when it's done. It's very nice in winter.
This is so awesome just a bunch of people trying different things call me weird I find it wholesome to hear things like such magic in my hands (sorry if I said that wrong)
Made me hungry for french toast, haven't had it in ages and such a simple dish.
So glad they liked
It is called Rabanada in Portugal and Brazil, and it is a very old recipe (like centuries old). It was used to reuse old and stale bread.
What's even better is that there are dozens of ways to make this. My friend makes the best stuffed French toast I've ever had.

You are definitely lovable people! I would like to see who cooks all of the foods too, when it’s not your guys like in this one. He or she has learned to make SOOO many foreign foods. It’s really incredible! And yes I love French toast!!! I’ve never added sugar to the batter tho. But all of the other things are the same :)
If I'm having breakfast in a restaurant, french toast is my top order! Fun to have them make it and see what it is for itself - a few choice ingredients, soaked into bread, which is then fried in butter. I've only made it a few times at home, one trick that worked a treat was soaking the bread in the mixture overnight...made for a very decadent french toast the next morning!
Does anyone else think Mustafa cooking is adorable? But watch that Manzoor! He is a syrup stealer! ❤️😂😂😂
French toast is one of my favorites!! I like to make it with homemade bread.
