What's great about watching their reactions to the movie is that they watch without the jaded cynicism that many older viewers bring into it. They're seeing it with the innocence that people did when the movies were new.

So in this hypothetical scenario you presented older jaded cynical viewers watched the first two star wars movies but still went back to watch this one only to be jaded and cynical about it? Unlikely. Everyone loved these movies, If they didn't I doubt they would watch the trilogy.

@@JessTarnAfter seeing some other tribal people react to episode 1. They were laughing at and loving Jar Jar Binks the whole time. Now I all of the sudden don’t hate him as much and feel less “cynical” after seeing them react without those cynical goggles. So he does have a point here.

The only issue I have with the originK trilogy is the fact Lucas made them all the special additions With literal unneeded scenes such as CGI shots of things that don't matter, poorly editing Greedo to shoot first cause they were worried Han looked bad The continuous poor CGI shots and adding in the "Nooooooo" when Vader rebelled against the emperor Never mind putting Hayden Christiansen in the end, despite everyone else being the same age as they died and the fact Luke would have no idea who that was, also a big middle finger to the actor who played Vader in the suit and etc. Those things are things that bug me, But as for the story, characters and execution this original trilogy was perfect.

I've loved these movies since I can remember, and I am not a young man anymore. Always happy to see people enjoy them. If I may, the expanded lore shines light on the monster and its keeper. The creature is a Rancor, a normally intelligent and gentle creature, that has been horrifically abused by Jabba. After it had saved the keeper's life, he decided free it. Sadly, Luke killed it in self-defense before he could. That's why he was crying. Luke would later, after meeting other rancors, feel regret for killing it. Though, he felt that after the years of torment, it was beyond rehabilitation and ending its suffering may have been the most merciful thing.

Well I have great news for you if you didn't know already, but go to you tube and search Birth of a monster A Star Wars Story. It's a fan made film but it's excellent and the ending will have you smiling given what you wrote. Also check out another SW fan made film called Bossk: scorekeeper. It's flipping brilliant and is done in the same style as the film Predator. Tell me what you think after watching them.

  • @My2Cents1

    @My2Cents1

That's a retcon "Filoni:ism". At the time this movies was made, the Rancor was just a huge predatory animal/monster used for Jabba's amusement. The keeper cried because the Rancor was his pet. It was meant to be a semi-comedic, semi-morbid moment how someone can love something so hideous. Like you said, that's expanded lore that wasn't present here.

    1. Best guess is that Han was Jabba's "trophy" for about a year and a half before the rescue. 2. Vader discovered Leia as Luke's sister because he could feel it through Luke. Luke didn't know that until just before then. 3. Luke's light saber is green because he lost his old one along with his hand so they decided to make it green because it worked better in the desert background landscape. 4. Everybody is freaking out because Luke and Leia kissed mostly because she was trying to piss off Han. They didn't know they are related. 5. The "I love you. I know" was written into the script to get Leia the shot to say it to Han. 6. This was Warrick Davis'/Lead Ewok first acting gig. He was only 13. Willow is his lead with Val Kilmer and worth a first time/share.😎 7. Awesome camera work with the race through the forest. Nobody in their right mind would go that fast. 8. A little corn. Hans' reaction to Leia telling him Luke is her brother. 9. Jedi is plural. With Luke and Leia leading the way they can reestablish the Jedi back into the galaxy. 10. Ford wanted Han to die in this episode. 11. This is the best of the original 6 George Lucas Star Wars. After this he sold it to Disney, and everything changed. Sadly

Han's body was stolen right after Boba left Cloud City, Boba and Bossk spent months tracking him down while Jabba put a bounty on Fett for losing the body. Turned out Qi'ra stole it. During that time Leia was captured by Vader and he was using Obi Wan's lightsaber to mock her when she lashed out with the Force, took the lightsaber and fought him. Luke showed up, they escaped and she became his first Padawan and she used Obi Wan's lightsaber as her own when Luke refused to use it, he instead made his green one modelled like Ben's. Leia found that she could only connect to the Force when she was angry or scared and decided to quit in case it led her to the Dark Side, Obi Wan's lightsaber was said to have been on display at the dojo he trained Ben Solo/Kylo Ren but it has never been in any movies since he died. That all happened in the Marvel comics, it's canon, they fill in all the stuff between the movies.

My favorite movie in the franchise, glad they enjoyed it. I was able to meet some of the actors. Vader and some of the Ewoks, Chewbacca, all wonderful people. They should definitely go back and watch the prequels next, just like the rest of us did in release order.

WOOHOOOO !!!! Took me way too long to finish watching this upload (11 days !) but it was absolutely WONDERFUL ... I am SO EXCITED NOW for them to start with EPISODE I !!!!!! 😁😁😁😄😄😄 Also ... if they like the Ewoks, they should watch "Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure" and "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor" !!!! ... A lot of people think the Ewok adventure movies are crap but a lot of people also hold them dearly to their hearts, as I do.

CinePhiles, at the end it was Yoda and Obi Wan, and the one on the left is Darth Vader restored to good Anakin. You should watch the remaining 6 movies as they came out: 1, 2, 3, then 7, 8, 9, just as we watched them years ago at the theaters.

there is another channel that i watch that has indian villagers reacting, Babu and Raen. They watched star wars in chronelogical order, and its strange because in their reactions, they struggle to follow the concept of star wars and they seem to forget or not understand things from previous episodes and always seem to miss the connections. The translated version they watch doesnt even mention the force, but "divine power" and raen is constantly questioning if every planet is earth, so im not even sure if he understands the text at the beginning about it being a galsaxy far far away. So watching these 2 guys follow the story and understand everything is quite refreshing.

I watch that channel too, and i agree completely with you. This channel is so much better. Babu and the tall guy just blabber non stop thru movies too and it's really annoying. You can always tell Raen is just trying to watch and enjoy the movies, but respect for their elders is so prevalent in their culture so he never wants to say anything to them about them rambling on and on and ruining the watch for him.

When the guys on the other channel watched Episode 4, A New Hope, they were wondering where Yoda was. Yet another reason why it's better to watch the movies in release order, not chronological order.

It's their first time watching the movies and are doing so while making a live reaction video is not really casual - by comparison, you've had 40+ years to watch the original trilogy hundreds of times over, including the various editions Lucas released as he remastered, reedited and repeatedly improved the CGI on them since their making. Kind of unfair to expect people with far less experience in watching sci-fi concepts to grasp every thread of a complex amount of lore and world building on their first viewing. If the Star Wars movies were put into novel format, with all the depth and scope demanded of them, it would literally be as big a book as Lord of the Rings.

  • @AlphaGamer1981

@@MarcusBritish oh no i completely agree with you, however I feel the version they watch has a vastly different translation, we get to watch it in english, but we have no idea what is being said in the dub in their headphones, and this alone can drastically alter the perception and understanding of the film, especially when there have been a number of times when babu has repeated what was said and its completely different dialogue to what we hear. For example they never mention jedi, they mention warrior, they never mention the force, but instead they recall it as divine power. When leia said "get this walking carpet out of my way" babu repeated "get this ball of wool out of my way."

I've enjoyed watching this Original Trilogy (4, 5 & 6) with you and I look forward to seeing the Prequel Trilogy (1, 2 & 3) in upcoming videos. I do hope you will cover all the movies including the Sequel Trilogy (7, 8, & 9) as well as the stand-alone movies, Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One. I would even recommend the Obi-Wan Kenobi series from Disney+ (6 episodes) at some point after Revenge of the Sith if you have any interest in doing a limited television series.
