@@TRYBALS well as I said before I can be a bit of an idiot, maybe this time I was actually looking for them lol. Either way my sentiments are true. I do have a suggestion for something that I think could be a really cool thing to have on your channel occasionally. So far you are showing the reactions to foreign music and culture that everyone has, but I was thinking that it could be a interesting idea to sort of do the reverse of things on occasion. Which is to say that you could have everyone who comes to show/explain something from your own culture to your audience. I am not sure exactly how or what you could show (perhaps some cooking or native musicians who the group all enjoy) bit it is something that I know that I would personally enjoy a lot. Thank you again for everything

A sense of sadness permeates this particular song. This is from the people of the Appalachian Mountains in America - Hearty people given to hard work (such as mining) and generally near poverty. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. @@momD612 PTX's Amazing Grace is actually the newer Chris Tomlin song "My Chains Are Gone" that somewhat incorporates the old hymn, whereas HF's version is the classic hymn, so they're not really the same song (also HF's version includes Peter Hollens). For the most part, HF tends to avoid duplicating songs other big a cappella groups have done, both because they're a country vocal band vs. the others being pop and also just that they don't like turf wars, so it's hard to find songs to compare.

I wouldn't try to compare the two, but it would be a good idea to listen to the same song sung in a different way by both. You will always have those saying Pentatonix is best & others say Home Free is. Everyone's ear 'leans a certain way' and there probably is no best. If you do 'Mary Did You Know' as some have suggested, do Voctave's version also. Another great a Capella group.

Two separate people were producing vocal percussion in this song. Chance was vocalizing the Jewish Harp and Adam was doing the rest. However, it is a travesty to judge this group, Home Free, based on just this one song. In this one they are making a distinct southern (bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. If actors were to do this they'd be given accolades, but far too many people don't give HF the respect or props they deserve for their incomparable expertise; it is very easy to listen to them and forget they are acapella. They cover a wide range of genres--something to suit everyone's taste. I challenge you to react to some of their other music: "How Great Thou Art", "Timeless", "Undivided", "Amazed", "Unchained Melody" or "Mayday"--just about any of the 150+ videos they have on KZread.

Yayyy thanks so much for showing this one to our friends~ You should definitely show them a live video of beatboxing, and maybe some harmonica as well? Bob Dylan would be an interesting one to show them, and maybe you could explain a little bit about the protest song movement he was part of. It was great to see them being able to get a grasp of the meaning/tone of the song even without you translating the lyrics. I think the lyrics themselves are also quite moving, so maybe you could show them another version and translate it for them?

I absolutely love watching these videos. I see a lot of wisdom in how they approach what they are exposed to. I agree with the gentleman in the yellow turban (is it called a pagri?) that Pentatonix elicits chills. Home Free, while extremely talented, doesn’t do that for me either. I recently learned that not everybody is lucky enough to get chills while listening to certain music. That saddens me. Music is universal.

I absolutely ADORE this channel! Their outside takes on American culture is so eye opening. I like how they all enjoyed the Harmonica bit and also compared it to the same instrument over and over. If they liked that, you should show them Blues Traveller and his harmonicas!

Thank you for the wonderful video. Another kind of a cappella singing is traditional Irish singing called sean nós. An absolutely beautiful form of song. I particularly recommend Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlahartha's rendition of Caoineadh Na Dtrí Muire. Thanks again!

I love the common respect you guys give each other. I may be wrong but reading the translation thus far I have seen at least 8 times in less than 4 minutes you guys have said , "sir". Such an act of common respect is disappearing in my world, which shocks me. I was raised with manners. Say thank you always, always help your elders even if they are only one day older, anyone asking for help, you help them even if you know they will waste said help. And most of all always treat each person on earth as they are better than you even if they are not. I always let every person walk through the door first, always stop to help an older person carry their load, offer a poor person a roof for a night and a fair well out the door with clean clothes and a full belly. I was a junkie one time, and some one gave 24 hours of time in their home to sleep, eat, shower, wash my clothes, use a computer to write a resume and sent me down the street with lunch in my hand. 24 years later I am married, have 3 kids and am a grandfather now. Common respect goes so far.

Always enjoy your reactions, the different perspectives, opinions your group express, love this song, when I saw O Brother Where Art Thou,.fell in love with the soundtrack, see what they think of "O Death",..there was some gospel on there,..very old hyms,..grew up hearing that in church,..the deacons, as we called them,..like elders, would start the church service singing acapella, these old ancient hyms😊, was a staple part of the church service, and worship,..so love that verse in this one, "fair thee well",.. old saying, keep going, Godspeed, Peace ✌

Well done again, Trybals! This was a wonderful video with thoughtful questions and insightful answers. Home Free, though an a capella group who tends to perform more country music, is very capable of singing different genres. I'd love to see everyone react to Home Free's version of Bohemian Rhapsody - maybe compare it to the original by Queen. Of course, once you open the door to Queen, you'll want to hear more. Same goes for the Bee Gees...

I’ve just recently found the channel and absolutely love the reactions, thoughts, and feelings that are being shown and glad I found you guys. I have basically watched a couple of the videos you guys have made and see that a lot of them are reactions to songs so I just want to recommend a song to react to. ‘We Didn’t Start the Fire’ by Billy Joel. And for the video to watch you can watch the original music or one made by a KZreadr named Matthew Manley where he has pictures and explanations about the events that took place. Forewarning the video and the song itself is kinda sad so yeah. It is mostly about the world events from 1949 to 1989.
