Triangle Picot Edge

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

www.joannesweb.com
This resembles a lot of the Indian textile decorative edgings but for the purpose of finding a term, we'll call it the Triangle Picot Edge, from of our series of Crochet Edges / Edgings.
Triangle Picot Edge, Crochet
sc= single crochet
dc= double crochet
Repeat from * to *
You may want to single crochet the whole row, before the triangle stitch, as a base.
*sc into the first stitch, skip 2 stitches, on the 3rd you make:
3dc,
chain 3 and slip stitch into the base of the first chain,
make 3 more dc (total of 6 dc into the same space)
Skip 2 stitches*
End with a sc.

    Instead of double crochets, you can make them triple crochets and instead of 3 chains you can make 5.

    if you were to use this edge all the way around a blanket, would the stitches of the blanket need to be in multiples of three in order for the border to meet properly?

  • @JoannesWeb

    @JoannesWeb

    7 жыл бұрын

    No. What I do is cheat. If I don't have the number of stitches I need , I pile up the triangles at the corner.

    I'm hoping to use this on a baby blanket I'll be making. What is the stitch count requirement for making the border even?

  • @JoannesWeb

    @JoannesWeb

    7 жыл бұрын

    Multiple of 7. You can still cheat at the corner, because you need more stitches to turn. (2 more) That means that if you have a fan, you need 1 more stitch on each side and if you have a single crochet , you need to have 2 more stitches (3 in total).

    Make a picot into the corner and make sure you have a single crochet on each side of it, then continue with the stitch.

    Go as far as you can with the stitch and make 3 stitches on the corner, so it turns without stretching. It can be 3 single crochets or a picot.

  • @JoannesWeb

    The problem is that I have a PhD in knitting and grade school in crochet :( My aunty was a lefty and she could never teach me crochet; I have learned by myself, and for that edge some "space" is needed, because the patterns repeats itself at regular interval of spaces. That's why I was asking. I'm knitting a tank top for my daughter (46) with a very innovative knitting stitch K1B (not the one for brioche), you just knit, literally 1 below, and I loved your edge to finish it because right now the edge is awful, 100% cotton is not exactly very forgiving :( Thanks, anyway, gracias, b
