Triangle Picot Edge
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
www.joannesweb.com
This resembles a lot of the Indian textile decorative edgings but for the purpose of finding a term, we'll call it the Triangle Picot Edge, from of our series of Crochet Edges / Edgings.
Triangle Picot Edge, Crochet
sc= single crochet
dc= double crochet
Repeat from * to *
You may want to single crochet the whole row, before the triangle stitch, as a base.
*sc into the first stitch, skip 2 stitches, on the 3rd you make:
3dc,
chain 3 and slip stitch into the base of the first chain,
make 3 more dc (total of 6 dc into the same space)
Skip 2 stitches*
End with a sc.

This was the perfect edging for some curtains I made - adding tassels to the center of the picot stitches. Thank you!

Instead of double crochets, you can make them triple crochets and instead of 3 chains you can make 5.
I just found your video and your a great teacher! :) Is it possible to do this video again including the corners. I'm a beginner and have seen some of the comments about the corners, but not really understanding it. Thanks so much! :)

Georgette Berghammer Here is a link to a video of same/similar stitch showing how to do the corners. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aJyJtryJd6qYqqw.html Hope this helps.
Nice!!,
thank u!! 🤗
How would you do the corners? I love this stitch and would love it on my sons blanket

+Jessie Braun Make the tips on the corners. You can cheat a little and adjust them. ;)
if you were to use this edge all the way around a blanket, would the stitches of the blanket need to be in multiples of three in order for the border to meet properly?
@JoannesWeb
7 жыл бұрын
No. What I do is cheat. If I don't have the number of stitches I need , I pile up the triangles at the corner.
Your voice sounds the same as my Great Auntie Ann's haha
oui ça s'appelle bordure en coquilles à picots
I'm hoping to use this on a baby blanket I'll be making. What is the stitch count requirement for making the border even?
@JoannesWeb
7 жыл бұрын
Multiple of 7. You can still cheat at the corner, because you need more stitches to turn. (2 more) That means that if you have a fan, you need 1 more stitch on each side and if you have a single crochet , you need to have 2 more stitches (3 in total).
How to get around the corner to do the sides please.
@JoannesWeb

Make a picot into the corner and make sure you have a single crochet on each side of it, then continue with the stitch.
How do I make in the corners and to finish the round, pls
@JoannesWeb

Go as far as you can with the stitch and make 3 stitches on the corner, so it turns without stretching. It can be 3 single crochets or a picot.

JoannesWeb thanks🌷
Miss Joanne, how do you do the corner to turn to continue to go around the blanket?
@JoannesWeb
2 жыл бұрын
I always consider 3 stitches for each corner. If you need to cheat, you can. Skip or not, whenever you can.
I don't know; it's not explained in the video, how to you do the previous row that has kind of columns and creates spaces for this edge
@JoannesWeb

This decorative edge is for any crochet piece. I only explained how the edge is made. The bottom of it could be any knit or crochet piece.

The problem is that I have a PhD in knitting and grade school in crochet :( My aunty was a lefty and she could never teach me crochet; I have learned by myself, and for that edge some "space" is needed, because the patterns repeats itself at regular interval of spaces. That's why I was asking. I'm knitting a tank top for my daughter (46) with a very innovative knitting stitch K1B (not the one for brioche), you just knit, literally 1 below, and I loved your edge to finish it because right now the edge is awful, 100% cotton is not exactly very forgiving :( Thanks, anyway, gracias, b
I wanted to use this but unsure how to go around the corners???
@JoannesWeb

You can cheat a little and adjust it.
And corners?
@JoannesWeb
5 жыл бұрын
You make 3 stitches with the triangle picot. Adjust the sides to match.
I know what double crochet's are but still I get confused when you go so fast I guess I'm still a beginner I'll move on
