    Hi Joanne. I love your channel and have picked up many a great tip and new stitches from you - pistachio stitch being my favourite. May I ask you please, I am about to start a square baby blanket but I would like it to be bigger but still square. Is there a ratio to the amount of stitches added to the amount of extra rows you would knit? If, saying were to add 10 stitches, would I knit an extra 10 rows. I’m hoping you can help me please. Jane from Scotland.

    It's a matter of casting on the stitches and on the first row you knit every stitch from the front and from the back of the stitch so you end up with double the amount. Start with the pattern after that as I show on the video.

    Cast on your stitches and immediately start with the pattern as explained. You can cast on any way you wish. I used the long tail method.

    Lovely! Can I do this in the round? Can you explain, please. Thank you!

  • @JoannesWeb
    @JoannesWeb6 күн бұрын

    When you knit in the round, you knit the odd number rows as the pattern shows. When you knit the even number rows, you do the opposite of what the pattern shows. That is: you purl the knits and knit the purls.

    Ma’am, thank you SO much! I found an old baby burp cloth with directions and this was the best way to increase the first stitch. I almost gave up on the project after watching other videos over and over, then I came across yours. Thank you again!
