I remember backing the KS specifically for this, almost thought it wouldn't happen. I was wondering "how hard is it to organise a zoom call", didn't expect he'd fly all the way across the country to Florida to come in person. True legend. Didn't realise my respect for him could go up any higher, but there you go. Hope you all had a fun game after filming this!

Trey Parker on Dice Tower, my mind is blown! That was terrific, Trey's choices were fun and well explained. It's gonna take me a while to process these two worlds colliding. Really enjoyed how comfortable and casual the video seemed. Didn't try to cater to Trey and his celebrity, which would have been easy to do. Trey was refreshing, just an average board gamer that enjoyed the chance to talk about them with like minded folks. "Butters is a real person, he's one of our gamers" is a sentence that is gonna rattle around my head for a long, long time. Best video ever!! I would like to hear Trey tell us what he imagines would be the favorite game or games of each of the boys on South Park. An episode of the boys playing a board game with a traitor element that either Cartman leans into insanely or we get surprised to find it is butter is the traitor and is absurdly sneaky. Obviously Trey and the SP crew would know exactly how to make that simple idea hilarious. Anything to keep two of my favorite interests interwoven will keep me smiling, thanks again for that vid. Did that really just happen??

Just absolute proof that KZread is the new place for "celebrities." The fact that Trey Parker is such a huge fan of all these guys just proves that. "Celebrities" aren't known by EVERYONE anymore (e.g. Will Smith, Warren Beatty), but, rather, are "celebrities" within the genre that they target. Examples include the guys from RedLetterMedia (who have become SO BIG that even Rian Johnson was tweeting about them before the release of The Last Jedi), Linus from LinusTechTips (who is so well known now and has done so well that he has tried creating a platform as an alternative to KZread, called Floatplane, in addition to being known by EVERY TECH COMPANY in existence), and more. These guys are what people call "internet celebrities," but to me, a more appropriate label would be "genre celebrity." For example: RedLetterMedia aren't really known outside the film community; Linus isn't really known outside the tech community; these guys here aren't really known outside the board games community. But these people are now SUCH BIG NAMES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMUNITIES, that "real famous people" such as Trey Parker here, or Patton Oswald with RLM as well as Macaulay Culkin with RedLetterMedia/AVGNactually go onto THEIR SHOWS, and NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Mike Stoklasa and Jay Bauman don't go on Patton's show, Patton' goes on THEIR show. These guys don't go on Trey's show, Trey goes on THEIR SHOW! Sure, Trey may have tossed a reference to these guys into his "Board Girls" episode, but it's not like they went on and did voice acting for the episode: instead, it's the other way around. So yeah, "GENRE CELEBRITIES" is what they should be called, not "INTERNET CELEBRITIES." The meaning is the same: that they aren't really known outside of their viewers. BUT, within their viewer-base, they are as big as they come: to get referenced on *South Park,* one of the biggest shows in history? Or, to get referenced by the people who MAKE *Star Wars,* in the case of Stoklasa/Bauman/Evans? Yeah, they're huge. They're just not huge to EVERYONE like "celebrities" used to be. No more are there Will Smiths, or Warren Beattys, who are popular with EVERYONE. Instead, now, we have celebrities that people follow because they ENJOY THE GENRE that these people represent. Individualism is prevailing. Just like private work contracts are becoming the new thing (e.g. Uber, Etsy, eBay, etc.) , so are smaller, yet more specific, celebrities becoming a thing.

Love South Park, cool seeing Trey on here, love about half the games he mentioned. Would be cool if he sat in on a playthrough on a game while he was there as well. How did this happen? It was obvious when he talked that he watches Dice Tower quite a bit. Did he reach out to you at the Dice Tower?

@@Unit17 Sure, but they can't just put whomever they want as a stretch goal and expect them to appear on the show. It was obviously a prior arrangement. My best guess is Trey attends GenCon and as a fan of Dice Tower has popped over to say hi to them.

I saw this in my recommended on KZread. Never seen Dice Tower, I'm not a board game enthusiast, and I really don't watch Trey Parker videos about things. But, it just seemed so random, I clicked on it and watched it. The entire hour. It was pretty good.
