Trevor Steven - Everton Football Club 1983-1989
Спорт
Tricky Trev was a star of the Blues' all conquering 1980s side, helping bring the League Title - twice - the FA Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup to Goodison Park.
He was his generation's best crosser of the ball and worked the right flank diligently and restlessly while rarely feeling the need to beat his man in order to whip in the centres which strikers dreamed of.

One of the classiest players to ever wear the Royal blue jersey. He floated along the ground with such poise, balance and grace, allied with an absolute salmon like leap a true Everton legend was our Tricky.
Trevor Steven years ago was a fantastic football learner. I was with him at Burnley FC on trial and we played together in Burnley FC youth and Burnley FC Reserves in the late 1970`s early 1980`s. The Burnley FC youth team, which had Michael Phelan, Fergie`s assistant at Man U and a few others who went on to full time football was a fantastic place to learn football. Frank Casper was our coach and was the best football man I have ever met. Ray Pointer was also a coach at that time and he was very special. Great motivator and the love for Burnley was second to none. We were extremely lucky to have George Bray as coach also, what a brilliant man was George. A Burnley FC man through and through. Getting back to Trevor I was amazed at someone at 17 who could play football with 2 feet and wasn`t afraid of making a mistake. Tricky Trev is a god name but I will always remember him as Perfect Trev.
the greatest Everton player i've had the privilege to watch.

I'm a Londoner and he was the one player I copied. Truly a great. My favourite player of all time.
Ok. Full nostalgia mode. He had a trick where he would telegraph with every iota of his physical being that he was going to cross the ball with his right foot. Then he would pull it back onto his left and deliver the perfect cross with his left foot. The full back usually slid into, and watched this masterpiece from next to the photographers. One time he did this trick and we seasoned blues knew what to expect. Maybe the full back did too because as the canny full back shaped to block the feignted left foot cross, Tricky Trev, pulled it back onto his right, and delivered a perfect right foot cross. You can't write that stuff. Football gold.
Met Tricky in the Everton Supporters Club in Dubai . What a lovely modest man , proper legend .
I keep saying this but another one of my idols. He floated on air . Genius
What a player! God knows how much he'd cost in the modern game
Tricky Trev, could make the grade in any era
I was very lucky to see him play from a early age and I knew the kid was destined for the top . Howard Kendall was always at the turf watching him and we knew we couldn't keep him , and the rest is history .
The energy, balance, and almost graceful movement of Trevor Steven, one of our very finest players
One of Everton's greatest ever players.
My favourite ever Everton player, and I have followed them since 1969!

Snap!
There was something about the way he ran. The balance and composure. With the ball at his feet. Ballet like is not too much hyperbole. I remember one Televised match, Burnley vs the dark side. He ran them ragged. They won 3-1 I think but I thought, I wish we could sign a player like that. And we did.
Pure class, and Sheedy on the left.
a fantastic superb balanced fottballer able to use both feet, pass, dribble, head the ball well an asset to any team.
Greatest talent player. His skill was no doubt.
great player evertons greatest right winger
Fabulous player! gave it all on the pitch and that's all you can ask for.
A genius player playing on the right his footwork and skills were impeccable nil satis nisi optimum 1878💙💙👍👍
Trevor was like a ballerina on the pitch at times, seam to float round the pitch down the wing at speed, balane timing, grace, and boy could he finish !
Best right winger ever to play at everton!
My favourite!
The southern press said the team of 85 had no stars, they mustn't have watched Trevor Steven then , as someone else has said, a Rolls Royce of a player , glided over a football pitch , and never seen another player do it since, a pleasure to have watched him play
Trevor Steven was a class act. We had the privilege of having him at Rangers for two spells.
He was class.
He was my fav Player.as my teenage years my mates use to call me :steven cause they knew everton was my Team.
He can cross the ball with ultimate precision
Him along with Gary Stevens would form a key duo for both England/Everton...though i think Gary later came under attack for his England performances in 1990..

And Rangers
Best crosser of a ball since Dave Thomas!
What a player tricky was special utt
Sublime.
Against Bayern Munich I never doubted for one second that he wouldn’t score cool as anything and a top quality player Those days are to long gone it’s very sad that those times may not come around again
Absolute legend.
He was of course, a kid at Burnley. A kid, running an early 1980s Liverpoolside ragged. Speaks volumes.
Rolls fucking Royce
Wasnt impressed with him when he left but then when he said his wages never went over 900 pounds i didnt blame him. Another example of our shit board thinking they could keep our very best on the cheap.
before our football was stolen from the working class.....it was a little dangerous though!
One of Everton's greatest ever players.
