Just happy for BTS, but also very worried at the same time. Hollywood is very toxic and though they are professional artists, that poison is known to seep into their souls little at a time. I wouldn't say carried the show, the grammys are just an institution, but the artists deserve respect. BTS are greats among greats. Jon Batiste, Nas, and Gaga all put on incredible shows rooted in American music culture. I mean Namjoon must have been absolutely geeked to see Nas live like that! I'm also so pumped to see V and Jon Batiste forming a friendship. Jon is an absolute musical savant who has been grinding away at his music career since '98. I love to see the beautiful melting pot of cultures. I just hope to see BTS performing songs more true to their messaging and overall body of work in future America award shows.

I think now from ARMYs feedback on their latest songs, they’re trying to change that western american style music back to their deep and meaningful korean songs that won them many awards.

Im american that grew up in South Africa 🇿🇦 and I have been fan of Trevor before he was on the daily show and even before he was a lot bigger in America, I’m so proud to see his journey here and he’s killing it and I hope he keeps hosting these shows cuz his an amazing funny dude.

On of my favorite moments. Trevor saying he was taking his compensation in time with BTS! They were recognized by so many people and stars and interviewers. I saw them having such a great time and being lived in by so many people. Congratulations BTS. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I knew about them since 2015, I remember they were low-key, not known yet and they seemed just innocent. Looking at them now gives a weird feeling. They be looking rich, succesfull and naturally charming. Respect for that growth 👏

Cute moment. But even BTS thought, with Bang PD here, performing earlier, a special moment with the MC, where their seats were, how their category got bumped almost to the end...would make one think it was all leading to them winning! Alas it was not the case. I agree with others, duo and collab should be separate categories.

I thought the same thing when putting all those little things together! I was a little sad for BTS, but genuinely thrilled Doja & SZA won. I've had her album on heavy rotation for months. She's amazing 💜

And I'm genuinely asking, like, you don't have to give me the "objective truth", I just want to hear your opinion because I've seen other ARMYs say it before, but I have a different opinion. I'd like to understand both sides. The way I see it, it would have been really weird if he had just randomly started singing the song, out of nowhere, no context, just because "Squid Games" and BTS are both korean, yes. But what happened was, they were talking about RM learning english by watching a hit american show, and now that a lot more people are watching korean shows, Trevor said it's hard for english speaking folks to do what RM did and joked that he "did learn a line though", then quoted the most famous line from the hit show "Squid Games". Everyone knows it exploded in popularity, and that was definitely the one line that got stuck in everyone's heads. There was a context, he started talking about learning korean from shows because he had just told the story of how RM learnt english doing the same, then quoted the most famous line from the most famous recent show. He did say it wrong, but I don't believe at all he would've said it wrong on purpose, speaking another language is hard.

@Poki I understood that's what you meant by "disrespectful", I'm just not sure I agree that it is mocking the korean language. The way he said it DEFINITELY came out wrong, the wrong words, the over-the-top tone, but I don't think it was on purpose, I don't think he was doing it to mock the way korean sounds, I think he's just bad at pronouncing korean the same way I'd be bad at pronouncing german. If his intention WAS to mock the language by making it sound weird, then yeah, that'd definitely not be okay, but I don't really see any evidence of that being the case. I could be wrong though, I can't really speak for how the guys felt. If someone tried to speak my language and failed, I'd be amused and endeared that they tried, but under certain circumstances I could also take offense in it, true, if it were being mocked. Not sure what Trevor's intentions were (though I doubt he'd try making fun of korean), and not sure how the guys interpreted those intentions either, or whether or not they took offense. Thank you for explaining what you meant, btw ^^

It is an iconic line after all. Trevor also is a comedian so he's most likely to pull that kind of line to break some ice🤔

@@mL-sj2vh Yeah, I know this is just my point of view, but I think he was definitely trying to say it right, his eyes just sort of went forward and glazed over as if he was trying to remember the exact words and syllables and pronunciation, and he was dead serious up until the guys started laughing/clapping. He didn't do any sort of exaggerated korean impersonation (like a lot of "comedians" will do and have done, wrongfully so, to to imitate racist stereotypes) either, it was just... a normal attempt at quoting a show. Which seemed to make sense given the context of the conversation.
