To be honest, I started seeing proper resuls after about 2 years. For a veeery long time I battled inflammation, redness, A LOT of flakiness and old-looking skin (I think it lasted more than a year), my skin was very destroyed after acne, not taking good care of it, wearing heavy makeup everyday since I turned 13 (that's when my acne started, it was awful). At age 28, before staring a tretinoin treatment, I still had it and tretinoin was the only thing that cured me. I rarely get a pimple now. I am still not in a place I would like to be but I believe that it is going to be better and better!

I love seeing how much you love skin + me. I've been using it for nearly a year now. Sometimes I am careless and get too close to the creases around my nose and boy, do I know about it. However, I would not be without it. My hormonal breakouts are dramatically fewer, my skin is more balanced, my pores look better, and the over all tone of my skin is more even. I miss trying lots of products too, it's my thing. However, I have found a few new things that work with my new routine that you might like. Medik8 Press and Glow and Dr Sam's Flawless Mask. No down time from the tree and, used in the am, a glow like no other.

I've just signed up to this, for £1.99!! Thats the doser, and cleanser & moisturiser as a free trial. But I already know ill 100% be continuing to buy the doser. I normally use cerave cerimide cleanser & moisturiser at night so probably won't be purchasing theirs. But im so so excited to be getting tretinoin!

I love watching these kind of videos! ❤I use a similar service called Dermatica and they put me on tretinoin for my acne and hyperpigmentation. I'm 6 month in to this treatment and now it's mixed with hydroquinone 4% to really target my pigmentation. My skin is CHANGING!

The only thing I don’t understand with this is how are they tailored for each person because everyone seems to have the exact same prescription?

Ive been on Tretinoin for almost 4 years ,and honestly it wasnt after the first year that I saw real Noticeable improvement, now I will never stop using it, it really is my holy grail in skin care.

I think depending on why you're using it, some people don't see the benefits for a long time but my melasma was improved quickly

I use .07 Tretinoin and adding a water gel after applying Tretinoin helps a great deal with the irrigation and pealing and you don’t break out. Just an idea cause that’s what I do 😇🥰 I’m 53 with no wrinkles🤗

Very useful, thanks! Just waiting for my first dose to arrive- good idea to mention what you can’t use when you start! I’ve got a face zapper (magitone) that I was using on my jowls- and that’s a BIG OL’ NO NO on Tretinoin! I took my initial photos outside in daylight on the school run and wanted to have a little cry- I didn’t realise how old I looked x

This video is super helpful!!! I thought the tretinoin wasn't sitting well with me but now I know to avoid the areas you've mentioned as that's where is sore and flaky! Out of all the moisturisers which one do you recommend the most? and also do you recommend using sheet masks for hydration?

Definitely can tell a difference in your skin. I’m dying to use it but I’m also paying for dermatica for my sons acne (again only thing that works) so I’m holding off a bit until I use up my other skincare. Can’t wait!

I've been waiting for this video! I signed up way back when you first talked about it and was also a bit sceptical about it. I suffer from cystic acne and I've found that after around 6 months I havent had any new cysts appear. I am still battling the scaring left from previous cysts however. all the small spots I would find on my skin have also gone. I'm really happy with it. I also think a deeper wrinkle I had on my head is fading too. My skin does however have a weird tightness to it that's hard to explain and I am super lazy so I never reach for the spf. I too enjoy a exfoliator and have suffered the consequences 😩 I'd like to ask though how are you finding the shaving facial hair along side using skin and me?

Oh, I’m glad you asked! I can’t use skin and me around my upper lip/chin if I’m shaving or tweezing .. I use an antibacterial spray after hair removal to reduce breakouts but I tend to do that in the morning so I can use skin and me in the evening

Your skin looks amazing. I’ve just started my prescription this evening. I have almost the same amount of melasma than you. Was your first prescription for all over your face or just the melasma there was only just enough in mine to cover my melasma using a cotton bud on the areas of melasma only.

This is my first month with skin and me maybe 10 days , my trouble is large pores so I'm hoping it helps as in real self conscious abt them , xx

Your skin looks so much better can't believe the difference the tretinoin has made 😁 I use the BP retinol eye cream and really like it. I use pure tretinoin on my face and just started using it on my neck and back of my hands for anti-ageing. I try and do the sandwich method where you put moisturiser on the skin before and after the tret. I find it really helps my skin not get irritated! I always keep La Roche posay Cicabaume on hand 👍

Do you use your prescription everyday?

Do you think it’s also a result of being in winter? I have similar pigmentation as you under my eyes and forehead but it almost disappears in winter. Even though I wear sunscreen daily it definitely darkens as the sun comes out.

Yes and no. The before photos were actually taken on the 31st march (I’ll post them to my insta story so you can see the product I was testing) so it would have been worse in the height of summer when I started using tretinoin but I think it’s a fair starting point to judge against. My melasma never disappeared in winter and I can look back and videos and see the difference between now and last January. So although absolutely, the sun makes it worse, I know this has improved it massively

Thanks for the update. I have signed my 16 year old son up and he has been on it for a week now. Looking forward to seeing how his skin improves over the coming months. I was buying Dermologica Clear Start and there was improvement but after a year it just wasn't doing anything.

I've been treating my acne with benzoyl peroxide & it made my skin (which is never dry) SUPER flaky 😖 I also love the Dr Jart Ceramide cream/range, it helped so much with fixing the problem. Loved this video, I think I may give Skin + Me a try

I had perfect skin until I was about 25 and have dealt with severe adult acne for 15 yrs. Then about 10 years ago I started getting melasma. Now I only have 2 roundish patches of 'normal' skin by my temples. It's made me not want to leave the house or look in a mirror. I just started Dermatica and I'm scared to be hopeful

Don’t be scared! I assume it’s a similar thing to skin + me where you have access to prescribers if you’re concerned about the reaction

Retinol is amazing for acne. It is the best ingredient for me.

can retinol be used on parts of the face where youve had a chemical burn damage? (like 5 years ago, but the area is still red and irritated)?

Just received my skin and me and I’m looking forward to trying them. Still abit confused with what else I can use whilst using their products like talking make up off I just don’t want to use stuff that I shouldn’t be x

I’ve literally found your channel through this video and I’m currently going through the purge. I’m loving Skin+Me, my skin is soooo soft and gloat. I am using their trial pack of cleanser and moisturiser for convenience but maybe I’ll experiment with cheaper brands.

I’ve ordered some skin+me, my ingredients don’t contain Tretenoin, even though I’ve got acne. But I’m going to see how these ingredients go for a while first. But great tips in case they do change.

Oh no, you’d be way past if you started now.. might only be a couple of weeks if you’re careful about the moisturiser/cleanser you use not causing further irritation

Mine isn’t gone completely and it’s definitely worse again in the sun but tretinoin (and sunscreen) has reduced it dramatically
