That's amazing! Hoid's wearing ghostblood merch!
Well when Hoid says that Sazed has released the Kandra it does not necessarily mean that he has released them all from his service, it could just mean he has released at least some of them into the wider Cosmere. Sending out Melaan in The lost Metal would count as the beginning of this so in a sense 'this' could have already happened at the end of era 2.

Hoid specifically talks about how kandras are "themselves" with their own personalities. Pretty sure "released" means that sazed liberated them.

I just finished Tress (I held off reading them until I had several, so I could avoid a wait once I started.) and the entire book I was going "OOH! I recognize that! That too! Is that a!? Oh and that! So many things! IS THAT A ROCKET!?" If this is what Brandon defines as "Not really Cosmere relevant" I am afraid. I'm looking at Yumi on my bookshelf and quaking in my leopard print sports bra necklace. It's the next big trend, I'm telling you. Moving on, I adored this book. I'd recommend it to literally anyone that enjoys reading.

The connections in Tress were more worldbuilding-y. Yumi's connections are mechanics-y. Still absolutely my favorite secret project.
Just finished today. Behind I know. I loved this book. Honestly it is perhaps the first book I have read in my adult life that made me feel like the 8 year old book worm I once was. It was a joy. Im so sad it’s over. I fell in love with the characters. I am going to miss Hoid’s voice and quite honestly his wisdom. I try very hard to understand the Cosmere. I reread often and still find it hard for my brain to hold it all unlike my 21 year old daughter who forgets nothing Cosmere. But I am fascinated with the connections and the secrets and press on.

We daw purified dor being able to supercharge allomancy, well not saw but been told by moonlight iirc in lost metal. From what I can extrapolate from that, you can use purified investiture to power any magical art. I think.
@haku8135
9 ай бұрын
As far as I can tell, Investiture is Investiture, and if you know what you're doing, you can swap things around. The tricky part is if the Investiture has obtained some kind of specific Identity. Mistborn get their Investiture from metals, but giving a Knight Radiant some Steel isn't gonna do much for them. However, the Investiture of the Dor we have SEEN work perfectly for a Misting. That's why the Ghostbloods on Roshar are trying to figure out how to get Stormlight to other planets. They're basically Investiture batteries, and some clever people can do a LOT with them. We have also had it confirmed Vasher is continuing to survive on Roshar thanks to the Investiture of the High Storm. He needs Breaths to keep living, but not Breaths SPECIFICALLY. He can substitute Stormlight, hence how he can survive outside of Nalthis. Though we don't know HOW he does it. I assume he doesn't EAT Spheres, but who's to say at this point?
I’m currently going through your System Order for the cosmere. I just started volume 1 of white sand, where would you place Tress and the other secret projects?

It's strongly hinted at in the text, but I think technically it's still just a theory. I don't think Taldain Sand is related to aethers, but the bond is certainly similar. Just like how bonds between spren and bonds between seons or aviar are similar.

Would the fact that Hoid and Riina can use Aons not on Sel mean that powers of Dominion and Devotion are held again and are in the spiritual realm? How else could they use the power if they're still splintered.
@TheCosmerenaut
Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. The Dor exists in the cognitive realms, true, but the powers of Devotion and Dominion would be accessible anywhere via the spiritual realm, the same way a mistborn could burn a metal on any planet and technically use the power of Preservation. It just needs the right key.

To be fair to Sando, on this clip you showed he only said SP1 would be the least relevant, not the one with the least connections. Does it have a TON of easter eggs, new info, confirmations? Yup, so it’s VERY interesting to us readers. Will it be relevant to the greater Cosmere story? Meh, debatable. Will it push the plot forward? If it really is far in the future, my guess is not so much, if at all. (but don’t mind me; a friend of mine keeps accusing me of being a “denotativist”, so I had to point this out even if u only called Sanderson a liar for the sake of the video - which, by the way, was great) :)
