TRENDY Leith Walk - The Shore | EDINBURGH walking tour | SCOTLAND | 4K

Join us for a stroll down trendy Leith Walk to the historic port of Leith!
Leith's harbour dates from the 14th century and has served as Edinburgh's port for hundreds of years. Leith is connected to the city centre by Leith Walk, a broad street with many cool and eclectic shops, cafes, bars and eateries.
The Shore is the name of the picturesque street which overlooks the Water of Leith before it connects to the sea through the docks. Perfect on a sunny day, why not check out one of the fine- dining seafood restaurants or grab an icecream and wander around the cobbled lanes.
Leith is also home to the Royal Yacht Britannia, the Royal Family's personal yacht which was gifted to the city of Edinburgh in 1997 when she was decommissioned. This popular tourist attraction is well worth visiting and offers a glimpse into the private lives of the British Monarchy.
Edinburgh is well connected to Leith by regular busses and the new tramlines which opened this year. Be sure to include Leith on your next visit to Edinburgh!

When my dad was freed from Stalag11A in Germany ww2, he was able to go to Edinburgh , particularly Leith , to study diesel engineering ,His memories of Leith , inspired him, to name his eighth child after this area of Scotland . He went on to Birmingham, to a diesel manufacturing business, a big bus company, where he saw and fell in love with my mother, and 6 weeks later , they married and she journeyed to NEW ZEALAND,as a war bride. wallace Rennie Hynes and Valerie Biddle , lived and loved a great love story, and Leith is part of it , Thankyou , from nz, ❤

Thank you for this. I know this walk very well. And while some walks in Edinburgh are great in any weather, this one is best under sunshine and blue skies, which you were fortunate to have. It is nice to see some of the gaps on the left side of the street are filled with new buildings, and those are aesthetically decent fits, not ridiculous modernistic carbuncles like the silly Hub by Premier Hotel at the end of Market Street (by Brewdog). One suggestion: Occasionally turn to provide broader views, particularly at junctions; a look up those streets or a pause to show, say, the wonderful Topping & Co. Booksellers on the corner of Blenheim Place (just down from the Playhouse) would really improve the viewer experience. Otherwise we are staring straight ahead the whole journey. Thank you again, and cheers!

37:46 now start one video at this area. I wanna know how to BEST get to the waterfront, walking path? Near the water. I Guess I’ll just walk down there.

I’d be helpful if you were like this building is here on the side door of this store is here and you’re talking about what is nearby like a landmark so people know exactly where you are north is the SEA cemetery on the shore. Also thought that you’d be more on the waterfront.
