Hey homie, what caused the wrecker to cross barrier on I-84 this last week? Nothing on the news makes sense. Thanks, and was glad it wasn’t y’all, but really hated to see it. All of what wrecker drivers do is a service to the highway system, and YOU and your company are an incredible part of it. Having been in trucking since the age of 3, 50 years later I’ve many experiences and stories. But today’s truck drivers? Well… I’ve seen wrecker operators truly save the day, night, and any in between. The-stories I could tell, as many of our drivers put loaded trucks in places that defy the mind! Especially in the oil field. Stay safe!

I know you probably don't use that winch all that much but investing in a wireless remote system (mines a Harbor Freight cheapie I've had for 7 years) has saved me a buncha time!!

You should wire that truck with the heavy duty plug in jumper cables. And on the end of the wires put the same plug that the jumper cables use. I've done it and it works great! Don't have to carry batteries around

I've seen this same recovery done with just on pickup. One chain back to front on the high side, then the winch connected to pull Forward like a pendulum>

That road needs widened or push some dirt in it to close it permanent! Good job getting it out!

A lot of these roads need a trackhoe to run down and smooth out the dangerous spots like this. However being rough is part of the fun. I was down this exact road earlier this year.

Excellent video Dustyn. You make me nervous getting underneath stuff - please be careful! On the drone footage, do you just park that thing in the sky so you can have hands free in some of those shots?

I was down Tiddie Springs Rd earlier this year with my lifted Subaru Crosstrek. I did not take this shortcut, I took the slightly longer route around.

Why not wire in a plug on the Ford for the winch instead of lugging around batteries?

Very high quality images, did you get some new camera equipment ? A very tricky job well done, I am sure it easily could have ended with it in the bottom of the ravine.

Just out of curiosity why don't you have a permanent power jack in the back and front of your pickup ?

I really enjoy your channel. My observations of the recovery. This recovery could have easily gone bad. Having the truck with the portable winch more perpendicular to help prevent a potential slide of the front end of the truck down the hill would have improved safety of the recovery (I heard someone on the scene in the video recommend this and I agree with their assessment). Also since you had such a light vehicle attached to the back of the truck it would have been safer to have had two winch lines to prevent further slideing and possible roll. You had the UTV over a hill which was good to help prevent it from sliding and also did a tire dig, but it would have been helpfull to have used a snatch block on the UTV winch line so it would have had power enough to provide side lift on the truck if needed.

Great job guys! Straight forward good old lift and pull and keep going!!! What was not so great is there are sometimes too many cooks in the kitchen. And this was one of those times! One boss, one calling out orders! Two people say at the same time to do two different jobs or corrections, workers get hurt or worst! No matter the AGE, the one in charge has to be the only one calling out directions, please.✌🏻♥️😬
