Even as a man of 65 I shall not man the barricades, but I will mount theirs. What comes will split families and friends which is a regrettable fact but I never in all my life thought I would live to witness a civil war and I pray I don’t, but none can hide from what we see. As a born and bred British citizen who chose to live in central London ( and actually come from old old pit town myself ) I should not be expected to walk among people in London who don't think I should exist because I am white and Christian . & by the way , my old pit town is already being (very ) diluted by this betrayal .It is spreading - quicker than ever and recognises no boundaries . I pity what the young children in my family (and yours ) are going to have to endure - civil war will be a real threat for them .

All the Muslim kids at school in the 80s and 90s never needed this, nor did they ever complain that it was necessary. None of the Muslim guys I worked with in the 90s ever required this, nor did they ever complain that it was necessary.

Great headteacher & great school in Wembley very much respected by the residents & parents of children who go there 😊 very well behaviour at the bus stop after the school finishes for the day. Rules are crystal clear so for this to happen its shameful by the parent who put the school through unrest if you want to go to pray etc go to a Muslim school like Catholics go to a Catholic school 😊 this motive by the parent is very sinister motive & bulling to change the school system 😊 outstanding school & children enjoy the school .

Well my fellow Brit (if you are British of course) have you even bothered to consider any benefits they might bring? Have you even tried to search online for your answer or will you allow a certain sort of thinking (some may call this ignorant thinking or stereotyping or plain racism or just downright miserliness and resentment- I am not specifically stating this) that Muslims may well be the most generous group in the UK? - and that they may actually donate four times more to charity than the average Brit? Well done to this head teacher who took the hard way to fight for what is right and best for everyone. In this case the protestors were hired people from the Iranian Islamic center in London. I feel sorry for the other teacher with young family whose headteacher apologised to the mullah and the parents and still the mullah was not appeased and the teacher was laid off and now for the last 3 years he is in hiding. His life is ruined. Remember what happened to Rushdie.

The whole education system should adopt this approach. Keep religion away from our schools, colleges and universities. These people are religious fanatics,we are not.

I recently attended an onlne interactive course, there was constant disruption by a particular demographic, disapperaing and then reapperaing and demanding special attention for being absent and missing tuition !

Fast forward a few years and that student will be causing problems ...big problems

This is a christian country. Want to practice another religion outside of a school or work day fine. Want to do that during a school day or working day there are many countries around the world that will have that religion, you wish to practice, so go there. If that makes you unhappy go to where you can be happy. You have the freedom to do that.

Practicing Christians would understand the need of a practitioner of another (in particular Abrahamic) religion to uphold regular prayer. You can see examples in Jerusalem and elsewhere where Christians protect praying Muslims and vice versa.

Appalling case, Katherine is quite right, her focus is on discipline and a quality education. I am 65 and had a disciplined, quality education in a poor area. That education had carried me through my entire life and I am very grateful for it. Too many of the modern students seem more focused on disruption and battling with their teachers, the will have their fun but the consequences of wasting their school time will be felt through their entire lives.

I agree with the court findings completely. I would prefer to see all schools secular. I remember when I was in school back in the late 50s/early 60s some catholic children would get up and leave the classroom if religion was mentioned, much to the amusement of the rest of the class and often the teacher. Rather pathetic really.

Just repatriate them already

I taught in a mixed race , inner city school. There were frequent occasions where up to 20% of my students left my GCSE lessons early, or arrived late, because they had Muslim prayers. It was disruptive and, as it was a Science lesson, they had no idea what the lesson was about and I had to stop what I was doing to register them then catch them up to speed, or they walked out before the lesson was drawn to a conclusion and the learning summarised. Other students were annoyed and distracted and it was very difficult. Students are in school to learn and they should not be disadvantaged in this way. This school treats all students equally and the results speak for themselves.

if i sued someone and lost wouldnt i have to pay court costs we need now to claw back the money from the family who i would think are not poor sending daughter to a great school . please get my money back

Don't you like rules at school change the school . Or even change the country.

DON’T give them special treatment for religious beliefs . Get a grip of this now . As this kind of thing leads to division and eventually violence on religious grounds. Trust me I grew up through the troubles in Belfast. It was bleak and many suffered on religious grounds.

They can have private schools that cater to their faith, the problem is that they don't want to pay for it. Everything should be free in Britain, and why would you pay for a private school when you can muscle the public school to your will?

It is an outrage that a mother who placed her daughter in a secular school, would then exploit her daughter to take this action, at the public expense. There is something very wrong at the Legal Aid Agency who agreed to fund this action and they need to be held to account. I see that in the Head's measured response to the ruling, she states: "This mum intends to send her second child to Michaela, starting in September. At the same time, this mum has sent a letter to our lawyers, suggesting that she may take us to court yet again over another issue at the school she doesn't like, presumably once again at the tax-payer's expense". The intolerance of Muslims once again challenges our tolerant society. We should heed the advice of Karl Popper, and not tolerate the intolerant.

When I worked in Social Work I remember hearing the phrase 'my lawyer' from people on benefits every so often. I truly believe legal aid is vital socially, but 'vexatious litigation' must be stopped.

How on earth were these people allowed to get legal aid for this I find this disgusting they are throwing our tax money around as if it was confetti no wonder we have problems in this country.

They are muslims at my work who are allowed to leave and go to there mosque on full pay while im having to do 3× more work.they take there time and always turn back up when dinner is aboute to start its rong on so many levels

The girl knew from day dot along with her mother the rules on religion which they accepted. It seems to me that this was intentionally done to cause this issue. After all the protests & threats the teachers & head mistress received from this self professed "peaceful" religion, the girl needs banning, and parents pay for the court costs.

We've never had a separate prayer time in English schools, might have sung morning has broken in assembly & said a few little words, but that's it! We are also a Christian country, not going to lie about it, we're in England!

B/S my primary school had us go to church once a week and it wasn't even a Christian school and this was in the 2000s So it wasn't even that long ago (unless you are much younger than me and if you are, what are you doing here? Go and enjoy your youth. Stop getting into politics, it'll only stress you out)
