Trekking in Wyoming for Goldens, Cutts, and Hybrids Part - 2
Спорт
This is part 2 of our backpacking/fly fishing adventure in Wyoming hoping to find some nice fish. Our main target was golden trout, but we also targeted cutthroats and some hybrids. The hike was pretty rough, but we had a blast and got into some decent fish. This is part 2 of a three part series. Thanks for tagging along. It is a pretty area. I love it up there.
Serious boulders by the first lake. Super fun rivers between... sounded like waterfalls in the background...heavy melt.. gorgeous scenery and awesome fish colors. Those Goldens were amazing

Couldn't agree more 😁
I agree. Snake River Cutts are my favorite Cutt.

That lake could use a few less to help out with the size but the snake rivers are pretty.
BOOM! Sweet goldens. Those cutts are also pretty cool, but big male goldens are hard to beat.

Male goldens are super pretty when they are all colored up---that's why many put in the miles to get to them.
The ledge that y’all were fishing on by the inlet looked so sweet

I'm sad to see the summer end
Do you ever see anyone else around those lakes? Seems like you find places with no other fisherman which is nice.

Two other guys showed up at the golden lake for a bit and then another group of 4 as well. We didn't see them catch any goldens and they didn't stay long. They just day hiked in. We passed the group of 4 on the trail on the way in---they were camped pretty far from the golden lake. It was a bummer they didn't catch any cause their camp was not close to that lake. I have had a few golden trips where I didn't see a soul but we usually see at least one other group at some point. Goldens have become quite popular for good reason.
Nice adventure - looking forward to part 3. It seems as though the habitat of the goldens is always the same - tough hiking in, high altitudes, mostly treeless, large boulders, clear and very cold water, snow drifts late in the summer, and the wind blowing most of the day. It's a special environment that most fishermen never get to experience. Thank your lucky stars!

Haha, I kept getting an ad on Instagram about putting logos on shirts. I had couple made for the heck of it, They turned out pretty good. They weren't very cheap. The base price was around $30 but with the 4 prints on each shirt, they ended being $66 each. I might have some more made
