Спорт

In this episode myself, and TEAM CYCLES build my new bike the Trek boone and I make some big changes straight away. We also take my new TREK EMONDA out for a spin, am I unfit?

    Having seen that Domane up close, it was a beautiful bike but I like the versatility potential with the Boone. Be good to hear your thoughts on it after a few rides. 👌🏻

    Lovely looking bike mate 👊. I did wonder how long other creators spent editing... Mad how many hours go into producing a nicely crafted edit. You do well to fit this in alongside a full time job 👍

    I saw you up at the Dirty Reiver but didn’t get chance for a wagwan! I did 130k too, but was my first gravel so I took it steady. Had plenty in the tank at the end which was a surprise, so looking forward to my next gravel. Boone looks nice, it will be interesting to see how it goes, I’m thinking of a titanium frame for a build next.. 👍🏻😎

    I consume a lot of cycling content on youtube but I've never heard of this bike before until now. Had to look it up and looks like it's been around for years. The youtube algorithm has failed me.

    It looks great. Being a cross bike it’s going to be quicker handling due to steeper head angles. It could be a little disconcerting on long off road decents. A gravel bike will feel a bit more stable with loads of room for larger tires. You said you’ve already had a checkpoint but that may be the best choice for adventure riding at least from Trek.

    I had that bike, I did the same thing you're trying to do and if I'm honest it just doesn't really cut the mustard. Also, the cable routing through the headset is nothing short of a joke and makes a simple bearing change expensive. I found that it didn't "Go" like other bikes. I struggled to sell it. Nice build too, I had Force AXS carbon bars etc...

    The geometry of the Boone is really close to the Domane, little lower stack height on the front end. The Domane RSL frame would have been even more aggressive geo. And yes the Boone is far and away the least purchased Trek in the "road" category.

    Yo. They are of the Domane. 700 wheels are being made.

  • @malcontent510

    @malcontent510

    The 650B wheels typically allow you to fit *wider tires* than 700C wheels on a given frame. Those higher volume tires let you run lower air pressure and therefore benefit from *more comfort & grip* on loose or bumpy terrain.

    Great bike, but, 3k for a apex mechanical takes the motivation to go for it. If it was being sold at 2250 and you take that difference in money to improve the bike to your fitting. it would be a great deal

    Hi Ben! I am looking to upgrade from a Mountain Bike to a Road bike to do the London to Brighton for the first time. For beginner cyclist (at least road cyclist) do you think the Domane makes more sense due to the relaxed geometry? I've looked at getting both a Domane and Emonda but I am afraid that the Emonda might be too aggressive for long rides at my entry level experience with Road cycling. I have also looked at the Giant Defy range as they seem to be a bit more sporty/racy than a Domane while still being in the Endurance Category. I have started to watch your videos recently while Bike hunting and I love your content. Keep it up and good luck with the new training plan! If you have any thoughts on the above please let me know 😃

    Both very similar bikes. I love my Emonda AL. The Domane is a good bike and it takes large wheels for light gravel. London to Brighton is a good day out. You can probably make both bike as aggressive or relaxed as you like. Go sit on some bikes see how you feel. Definitely get a bike fit. Feel free to come to Team cycles and I’ll help you out.
