honestly 700-1400 is the sweet spot for me, those are the games with some real interesting content

Honestly I don't know what it is, but "cop that's into baking" is such a weirdly apt description of Tristan's face.

We were so close to a glorious moment of red surprising blue's entire woodline :( Also if only red had protected his treb ball and used his units/buildings to defend a chokepoint into the heart of the forest he could've had the trebs provide firepower against blue's army. It was so close a big brain play but the execution just wasn't there.

If blue was just 10% more aggressive they'd be a much higher elo. Winning fights then returning home instead of counterattacking just gives the enemy the non-pressure and time they need to rethink a better strat and come back with it.

Also he just needs to use his resources. He didn't really produce a lot of units until 10 minutes into imp. He was lucky that red was too scared to attack earlier. Later he could easily have defended against the counterattack by simply spamming trash units while continuing his raid.

I have subscribed. Aoe came out when I was a kid, I hardly knew what I was doing at first. I never really played online much, but after finding your channel; I am hooked. I completely agree that low Elo games are the most entertaining and it’s amazing to see a player grow through trial and error. There was a match where the player(Spanish) walled half the map, was attacked and lost a portion of wall and blue had an army in the corner. That match was fascinating… it seemed on the surface so predictable, until things went wrong at the worst possible moments. However pro matches are great for micro Thank you for doing this, have learned a lot from you

Yes it was. He had a chance to rebuild the hole in the wall since blue walked away, but built a wall further in his base. For that match I was throwing a tactician’s temper tantrum on that match hahaha. A lot of ‘yes….wait, no, what are you doing!!!! No!!!!!’ Happened. My gf isn’t into video games, but that match I would pause it and explain to her what each player was probably trying to do. ‘Honey, you see me research and study these ancient battles; but the problem is I know who won. This is like watching it real time.’ Rts games are excellent for teaching strategies and tactics that supercharge foresight abilities within people. I waiting for someone to end a diplo game with a exploding king. Granted they will lose, but the kind of play that would be to sneak him into the enemy’s base while they’re microing

@@dylancope Also quite expected from red. As soon as I saw the cyrillic alphabet in his name, there was a much higher than average chance of crude language and insults. Especially if that player lost.

You gotta build stone walls around those towers, make them fortified!

I play around 850 or so. Surprising number of games end about the boar lure time... 😂

Lately you have the scoreboard on the top of the screen. Would it be an idea, to USE it in 1v1 for GREAT-LEL-Moments? To count things like "Red just weakened the Boar with the TC", "Blue researched heated shot!", or "Red hast less than 11 minutes of Idle-TC-time at 40minutes Gametime." ... not needed to be too serious. But I think, this could be a very fun idea. And on top, some good plays of those players are getting honored. :)

Does betonplatte also do team games? I wonder how he plays when he plays with a teammate

I don't play as much as I watch nowadays. However, I did start playing some 1:1 ranked recently and found I was rusty. I know what needs to be done but have to shake out the cobwebs. I'm beating people with 50% but I'm also not 50% myself. My legit ELO is in the 800-900 ish range but I don't have a lot of games. If my ELO drops enough I easily dominate, and if it goes up I have issues if they get the drop on me or I get a bad civ pick. One time, this guy beat me because my civ just couldn't take out a huge organ gun death ball. No bbc, etc. I threw cav and everything at it but got destroyed. I forgot to mention that I played every game random. I figured that while my overall game and ELO might suffer at first, it would teach me all of the ins and outs of each civ better. I figure that this would allow me to use the civs better when I play them and how to counter the civs better when I play against them. And some civs are just better than others and you do what you can. I've got a lot of hot keys down and I'm good with control groups. I have a really good understanding of counter units, but I don't always know what civ has what. One time, I did a fc and was going to go knights. I think I was Bengalis. I went to build knights and they didn't have any. They only had eles. They built too slowly and weren't the mobile unit I needed that I was planning on. Lost that game. Other games, I found my eco wasn't balanced enough. There were certain games where I just didn't seem to have enough of one resource. Usually wood or gold. Obviously, I want to win, but I decided going in that I would try but not get all stressed out about things. I think that after playing some that I could reasonably get to 1200-1500 ELO with practice and effort and possibly with me civ picking specifically for each game instead of going random. I have learned a lot about playing better from watching you, Hera, Viper, and others. I've started getting some quick walling down... still have to improve but making progress.

@@ignistactus1108 I have always just kited with 1 vill while the others shoot to prevent damage. Though I can see how this kills slightly faster, saving you 1-2 seconds. I don't think I am skilled enough for it to be worth the risk.

wut?! T90 is too young. Back in the early 00's I was playing AOE and AOE2 on fast by default. I only started slowing down the game when I realized I couldn't micromanage my eco effectively in MP games on Fast.

I would propably beat red player almost every day, but somehow he can pull off TC weaking the Boar, while I lose my villager to a boar every second game 😂

Whats so special about weakening the boar with tc? Vils kill it quickly enough, personally I don't think it's worth the risk of killing the boar
