@tianatasha I have been clean since 18/09/11. When I saw the 'H' it brought so much back. The living as if between this world and the next, the people on the scene, the tragedies. Much respect for you on keeping it together, it ain't no easy thing. Bath now has spice and all that other rubbish street drugs. Recovering addicts in the community are often isolated and cuckooed as well as disrespected and abused by some people in authority. I was once given some 'H' which almost killed because someone mixed it with something very harmful. I was at Barnabus House on the Paragon in Bath. The television was on in the background of my grotty little room and the film 'Barrabas' was playing as it was Easter weekend. I've lost count of those moments I have had when I've seen real dirty low downs and homeless liars get help by deceit. It's like that moment in front of the judiciary when the crowd vote for Barrabas and hate Jesus instead. In my solitude that is how it has felt for me on many occasion and inside I pity those who hate me through scorn, derision, insecurity and envy.

I know it isn't as big as 6-12 years, but I've been sober from everything since 6/30/2023. I was addicted to H and fentanyl. I went through a 30 day recovery in patient program and fortunately that was enough for me. I never thought it was possible to be looked down upon by other addicts b4 but as soon as they found out H was my DOC, the judgment started. They were "just" alcoholics, coke, and meth addicts. Never stooped to my level of desperation. Fortunately there were a few other H addicts in there with me that knew how I felt and I was grateful for them. They helped me through my own personal hell and I tried to help them as well. None of them made it through the full 30 days and ended up relapsing the scary realization I got out of my recovery (whether it's right or wrong feel free to share your outlook) is that the councelors were in it for the money. None of them gave a damn about any of us or if we relapsed or not. It was made very apparent when I saw one of my counselors a week later and they didn't even remember my name or face. Not a hint of recognition after seeing them every day for 30 days and sharing my life story with them. When you basically spend 6 hours a day with a person for 30 days you would think they would remember you a week later.

Oh god- I was on suboxone for a few months- and I ended up trading them for goodies. I’ve been on methadone for about 7 years and am almost off now- I’ve been clean for the last 5 years, at least. It would have been- different- with treatment like this! Thanks for the film- I’m enjoying it so far, only about a quarter of the way in, but it’s really good quality, good acting, and it’s keeping me really interested in where it’s going. Congrats on being sober. Its a tough road sometimes. :) As to things being different if this type of treatment truly existed, I still think it was 100% a lie....and a trap. @@ChristopherMcMahon-pz6ij I hear you, mate- I have definitely been there before, having burned all my bridges so badly that I don’t have anyone left from before getting totally clean. (Except for a few very close family members.) Not a single friend or acquaintance from back then, and I’m no spring chicken, so that’s a long count of years. I’m 48 now, and when I quit, I’d been on H and rock for more than half of my life- when you realize that you’ve spent more of your life on drugs than you ever did sober, it’s a reality check. Don’t kick yourself too hard for relapses, either- I don’t think that even a half of a single percent of people are ever totally successful at their first attempt. I relapsed many times, some of those times were even after years of being clean. Just try again, that’s all you can do in this life. I can say that I’m done for now, and don’t have any plans to use again- certainly not to the depths I was at before (but you never intend to let it get that bad anyway, it just takes on a life of its own)- except for when I know I’m at the end stage of my life. Whether I’m just tired of being around anymore, or there’s a disease or disability bringing the end about, I fully intend to go out on my own terms, when I say, where I say, and how I say- which I will do without any pain, and high off my ass. I’ve seen too many people clawing at the last shreds of life to die in pain anyway, without any dignity or choice in the matter. Not me. For now though, I worked hard to get and stay clean, and I’m not ready to throw in the towel. I guess my point is, it’s hard to stay off drugs, but you can do it- and you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself when you struggle with it. Most addicts/ ex-addicts don’t do as well as you’ve done so far, and most other people out there have no idea how difficult it is and how much you’ve fought already. Best of luck to you-

I'm just coming off methadone now an onto suboxone, I wasn't hooked into any hard drugs I had an accident years ago an fell 18ft off a ladder an broken every bone in my wrist an arm bones were popping out of my skin, once I left hospital they didn't put me on pain management an I started managing my own pain by buying nurofen plus which was anti-inflammatory/codine started have the normal 2 then after few weeks took more an so on until I nearly was taking a whole slab, it was really expensive, I told my midwife all about it an she put me in touch with a facility for drugs an alcohol stayed on meth for couple years an now only taking suboxone an will wean off that, addiction is horrible I wasn't a meth head or laying near a door with a needle in my arm but I always felt like a druggie or loser an was so humiliated an shameful, I always look after myself nice an tidy appearance etc I look after my kids I work, if the hospital did their job properly I wouldn't have had to self medicate, I take my hat off to people getting off drugs to better themselves it's a hard road an from experience it's bloody hard work.
Nice ending! I was getting really tired of Ms. Sanctimonious.

To remove her addiction, the devil would take all memories of her drug use if she agreed to it. By not saying no, doing the drugs in the basement like she had before, she refused to sell her memories and hold on to them. Thanks! The whole story was really just setting up her comeuppance. Rachel did a great job bringing that character to life and getting the audience to despise her. As for that building? We won’t be back either. Cold. Damp and dark. Full of dust, mold and mildew. There’s a reason it’s condemned. Our lead actress was sick for days after filming in there.

People get better by therapy or meds. Not god, Jesus, buddha, Allah or whatever power people prey too. When was the last time god showed up? Never? Great ending though I gotta say.

God has shown up a lot but that is for a different day. Therapy and meds are a huge thumbs up too.
Weak. Felt like a video version of the shitty school troups that used to do the "just say no" plays.
