In this video I explore Indian Wells Canyon which is filled with many old mines. Nadeau Magnolia Mine is located in Kern County,California at an elevation of 3100 feet. The property is littered with old mining equipment which was fun to explore. The mine is a 20 acre pre 1880’s gold and tungsten mine leased in 1943 by William Siebert. The Siebert family’s mining camp had rumors that this was a hideout for the murderer Benjamin Ashley who led police on a two week manhunt. I then explore Alabama Hills and find camp for the night. Enjoy the video.

The Alabama Hills, truly a magnificent place to visit! We went last year the first part of February. A dream come true for me. As an Old Western movie buff, I have watched hundreds of old westerns that were filmed there. We spent the whole day there taking it all in. The next day we toured the Museum of Western Films that had a lot to see. Later we drove our Tacoma to the Reward Mine and I drove inside about a 1/4 mile. Darkest place I ever drove a vehicle inside!! Later we drove thru Manzanar where Japanese-American citizens interned during WW2. I love the Alabama Hills and your video was really great! We also went to Cerro Gordo Mine!!Keep up the good work!!!

20:17 Lone Pine Peak. It's been quite a few years ago now, I lived in the Alabama Hills. Was a beautiful place to live but in them days, things could get just a little too slow sometimes.

Great video once again. Driven by that area soooo many times and never knew how cool it is there. If you get the chance, go visit the Champion Spark Plug Mine just north of Bishop. Well preserved buildings and mine area.

@@jonnytacooutdoors Thx 4 the response. After watching it on a larger screen, something: whether paint, rust, reflection off another object(?) is creating a few of the rocks to the left of the wash in the foreground from 17:11-17:13 to glow a bright reddish-orangish color. Regardless of this distraction: breathtaking landscape and wonderful content, brother! Thx 4 sharing it with us all. Keep the adventurous spirit alive!
