Stephen Foster is a famous American composer. As a Kentuckian I know him for the song “My Old Kentucky Home” sang at the Kentucky Derby every year. I lived a few blocks away from the Downs and you would hear thousands sing it. He also wrote Oh Susanna, Camptown Races and The Swanee River to name a few.

Stephen Collins Foster (July 4, 1826 - January 13, 1864), known as "the father of American music", was an American composer known primarily for his parlour and minstrel music during the Romantic period. In 1851, Foster sent Christy a sentimental song, "Old Folks at Home," more commonly known as "Swanee River." By November 1854, the song had sold over 130,000 copies, making it one of Foster's most popular and successful compositions.

Steven foster medal manufactured by Franklin mint 1975-1976 proof struck, there are 72 in the complete set not sure of the metal type couldn’t find any more info. What an awesome hunt you and Mark had Kurt. The gold ring and the tungsten right, the silver ring Kurt found and the way cool Spanish reale and the 2 cent piece and the buttons and coppers, native american kettle point etc.

I love the water hunts because of the amazing condition of most of the finds.

Great find. Native Americans used those kettle points. It could even be older than we know.

Closing on the gold ring is brilliant. Whatever is still there will be there when you return. Reversible kettle point is top-notch.

Those Holed Triangle Pieces were Ornamental jewlery worn on clothing in the same fashion as tinkler or Jingle cones. The hole is for a piece of Sinew.
