Thanks for the video! Trayce looks really good in these clips, and I can see him fitting in with the style of play with the Warriors. Now the question is whether he can do those moves against the best players. I’m hopeful, as will is important, and that tweet of his reminds me of Draymond and his burning the names of all the guys drafted ahead of him, including his teammate. Unlike others, I have no problem with Kerr’s handling of young players. He’s paid to win, not to develop players. So he’ll put the players he thinks will help the team win. Luckily, their goal isn’t maximizing wins anymore, so his main job during the season is making the playoffs and avoiding the playins. And with Paul around to greatly boost the second team - which was where the Warriors fell very short, Poole was supposed to lead that group and not piss away the lead handed to him - the team should start the season in a better place, assuming no injuries which is what derailed last year, when DDV went down. With Point God to lead the second unit, the young guys will have a savvy leader and they will look a lot better, and thus get more opportunities to play. Kuminga will especially benefit from it, this might allow him to feel more relaxed offensively, as he probably forced some plays because he knew if he gave it to Poole, he might not get it back. Moody will benefit because he’s an old soul and mind inside a young body. He will learn from CP3, and get more minutes too. People complain about the handling of Wiseman. I get it, I love his athleticism and personality. He averaged 20/10 per 36 minutes immediately in NBA, playing against starters, and has continued to do so when he played. But that’s the problem: he missed a season and a half of his first two seasons. That changed his development timeline drastically, he was basically back to being a rookie last year, and the only reason he played was because the Warriors needed to show he was healthy and back to his prior performance, so that they can work out a trade. Maybe they eyed GP2 all along, who knows. People complain, but Kerr started him a lot of games before he was injured. And now his salary was going to go higher but he wasn’t even producing good second team minutes. Most players require a few seasons to figure everything out. I still think he’s going to be good, I still remember his coast to coast, rebound, drive down the whole court, euro stepping to score a bucket. You can’t develop the ability to do all that at 7 ft. But the Warriors couldn’t afford him anymore, would have cost $100M in total, with no guarantees he will develop into a superstar (for $100M, that’s what I want). They were being practical. Kuminga is the opposite of Moody: he is still a bit of a kid still. And I don’t blame him, can he even drink yet? He wants to play, but I think his priorities and motivations got a bit mixed up by Poole. With CP3 to calm things down on the regular and to give good guidance, as well as have the PG eyes to get the ball to Kuminga when he’s in good position, he will quickly learn what he needs to do because of those hits of dopamine coming from doing the right thing, and CP3 rewarding him with a dime. I liked PBJ too, and I still think he can be good, and perhaps superstar good, but he’s still got a lot to learn and need the playing time to develop and he wasn’t going to get it from the Warriors, while Trayce provides some key things the Warriors need: rebounding and muscle. And for all the complaints about the Warriors drafting, Poole played well enough that they could trade him for a $40M+ player, showing how good he became and that doesn’t happen without Kerr giving him minutes and then more minutes as he proved himself. Picks in the back of the first rarely develop, so I see Looney and Poole as a pretty good return on those. About Kuminga, Moody, Wiseman, the lottery picks, first, many of them don’t develop either. But Wiseman is basically just finished his first pro season, and it takes big men 3-5 years to figure things out. Wiseman actually had better 36-minutes stats than Giannis did in his first season. I still think he proves to be good, but how is it Kerr’s fault Wiseman missed most of his first two years? People call Kuminga a bust, but he has good stats in playing bench minutes, only the better players can score roughly 10 points per game off the bench. So he didn’t play much in the playoffs, so what, doesn’t mean his season was zero. The key thing is he has progressed while looking great in spots. Now it’s a matter of increasing the frequency of those spots, which Paul will help greatly with. And Moody was a reliable regular rotation player in the playoffs, so how is that a bust? He’ll never be a superstar, but I think he can be a good starter, and produce well, like Wiggins, a supporting player who can star in moments when needed.

I like the trade for Chris Paul for one major reason and that is although CP3 has always started he can now come off the bench with the second unit and use his passing ability to get the Warrior reserve players quality shots and help Jonathon Kuminga, Gary Payton II, Moody and Trayce-Jackson synchronized and effective unit. The Nets use to have a great second unit with Dinwiddie and Lavert outplaying other teams second unit and the Warriors have that opportunity with Chris Paul to have a strong second unit also. I like the fact that Trayce-Jackson is a mature 4 year college player and this will also give CP3 the chance to play 65-70 or even 75 games without burning himself out during the regular season while giving the Warriors 20-25 solid minutes per game and allowing Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to have games where they can play 28 to 30 minutes and not have to miss that many regular season games for rest management.

Wiseman, to no fault of his own, was raw when he joined the Warriors. He had only played a few college games before being suspended at Memphis and then deciding to withdraw and prepare for the draft so essentially he was a straight from high school talent.

Kerr will play him. They need size. He can already do things that looney can’t do. Shoot! Lob threats! Post up players and create a shot for himself. Granted looney can rebound set picks and pass better. They will get more options with him. Plus he’s not bad at the 3 point line.

Knowing Kerr though, I doubt this kids gonna get any minutes this year. He's already had Kuminga and Moody riding the bench for a couple years. This year he'll finally play them. And we still have guys like GP2 on the roster. Leaving one open spot as it stands. And I'm assuming Podzeimsky will be taking that spot. But I hope Kerr will give the young guys more run

For starter the warriors only would need from him is rebounding , defending and setting screens properly and be ready for the occasional lob( Wiseman couldn't and he is out), then who knows what expanding role he could get, in the Steph , klay and draymond Era a center has never been featured and Kerr is unlike lets say Pop who adapts the style of play to the talent on court , Kerr continues to play the same even when he has non shooters in the game. The track record of warriors developing their guys is somehow overestimated at least during Kerr's regime , the core trio were draft under other regime and the early years were under other regime, at first you could say that was because under Kerr the team was too good so the picks weren't talented enough at the bottom of the draft , but lately they're took lottery picks and they're not doing as expected because lack of playing time , obviously they won't play in front of the established veterans but taking lottery picks to then later go to the g league and grab two ways players and playing them more than you lottery guys ? , good if those moves results in a better place in the standings but it wasn't that way , they were 6th just because other teams were resting their guys o shit like that.. Still hoping for this new young guys reach their best and be good NBA players..

The Warriors are still with consistent scorers except for ßteph and Wigggs. They will be at the bottom of the barrel again this year if the young players don't get the needed experience to help Steph and Wigggs. They will forever lose great shooters because of the one dark horse.

@@mattmoore2819 I love Indiana basketball follow Bobby Knights teaching they put out lots of players that know how to play the game with little to what they have just like Kentucky you guys love and know your basketball. I remember coaches from Knight staff coming to City College to recruit a player 6'10 Dean Garrett that netted a Championship with K. Smart. I already see his strenght and weakness too much left but the toughness is there for sure. With how the Warriors have drafted I don't hold my breath until it happens what they did in college is finished he now must adjust not only to the speed of the game but every player he plays now will be as strong if not stronger. I remember when they drafted Chris Webber a center in college I had a seat right behind the basket comp by Al Attles. he had to guard Wallace from Portland. I swear Webber shit in his pants.

Jackson has a lot to learn. His court awareness is NOT very good which is why he dropped. He'll be sent to Santa Cruz in the G League for sure but he'll get an opportunity to learn the game. You're overhyping him and should slow down a bit.

@@AJZ324 I appreciate your enthusiasm, but Jackson is indeed limited on the floor. The Warriors have drafted centers like him in the Steve Kerr era from Festus Ezili to Damian Jones and their arc's are the same. There's a reason a player of their sizes fall in the draft and in Jackson's case almost fell completely out of the draft and it's his court awareness and lack of a goto move in the paint. James Wiseman who was more athletic also had similar awareness issues. Since the best players are now entering the NBA out of high school what's currently playing in conferences like the Big 10 can't be seen as quality competition anymore, so who Jackson faced in that conference no longer matters. The Warriors are a win now team, and didn't make much room for their current rookies Kuminga and Moody so to think that Jackson will do better than them is a stretch given Steve Kerr's impatience with young players. I wish there was a different evaluation but I agree with the league and see Jackson as a longshot.

@@charlesinoakland1206 I don’t think Festus Ezili and TJD even belong in the same sentence as far as production goes in college. TJD played against one and done guys every year. He was top25 coming out of high school. You can watch summer league next week and find out for yourself

@@AJZ324 first keep in mind it's not what you or I think, it's the League. As a Warrior fan I'd be more than happy if he could contribute and would celebrate him as his play would deserve, but I watched 3 of his games on KZread and immediately saw why he fell in the draft. Summer League is not the measure that matters. It's all about camp and if you can digest the offense and defense in that time and show production. This is why James Wiseman almost never got out of the G-League. He was a great athlete but in the half court game on both sides he was lost. Like I said, I would celebrate Jackson's play if he works out. I'm just saying in that go easy on the hype until you see him against real pros. Best wishes.
