always great reviews and honest opinions! thanks for posting
I love the look and style of the truck but after watching a few videos it seems like a turd. Not really sure what it's designed for not enough suspension travel for a basher and no adjustments for a racer. Too expensive for an in the middle truck for me. Great content brother I love the channel thanks for all your hard work! Please keep it up

There is no racing for that size. Drives straight and turns tight . Why the need for adjustment ? Suspension no big enough? Bigger shocks then most tho. Maybe just add a heavy spring like you would with any rc to turn it more bash friendly.

@@coolhawk2003 I said not enough travel on the suspension. The videos I watch every jump you can hear it smashing on the chassis. I don't believe it's going to hold up or be a good choice for bashing. As for racing part, you want to be able to tune your set up for different scenarios. But my hole point is this truck has an identity issue what is it for? And at a G to play with one I'm out. But I love the style and look of it. If you like it get one! I hope you enjoy thats what this hobbie is about!

@@mikew2930 heavier springs ? What races? Anything this big is for fun. Its not a track car. Your not going to do indoor races or drifting with something this big. So why would they make it full racer? Odd there's x-Maxx if you want big shocks if not here's one with better turning, little less torque and more speed.

@@coolhawk2003 that's my point its not a race vehicle nor does it seem to be set up for bashing. What are you not understanding? It's seems to be a turd in the middle not good at anything but being expensive. And people seem to agree those are just my thoughts.

Always a pleasure to watch an rc driven as it was intended for. I think the wing would have helped with the nose heavy end of it but otherwise, she's a beauty.

I mostly agree. Though I do think it’s (probably) fun for some bmx and flat land jumps like razor is doing. It seems like it needs quite a bit more power but …. Still seems fun to rip, maybe not $1000 worth though. I may may not get one. I’m still undecided
Just the video I was waiting for! The XRT looked right at home👍

@@RazorRC that’s not a race truck! You should have stopped driving it on the track. Well Razor. Thanks for all the great content! 😅
Great rip Razor! That is exactly the type of terrain I would think the XRT were designed for. It did well overall, think it needs more power to be able to make air corrections though. Love to see a head to head with a K8s on that track!! I didn't know the chassis protruded in the center like that, weird design indeed. Imagine a dozen of those things out there tearing it up!! Keep up the great work!!👍🍻

Nice run on a perfect track. Do the hard case batteries fit easily into the compartment or does it get tight when closing?
@RazorRC

standard hardcase 4S race packs fit fine, with about 5mm of extra gap
Bit of an aside question, but any estimates on how high the ramps are at the parks you run at? Especially the main BMX track you record at. On the east coast we are severely limited in available tracks so we have to build our own ramps. Just curious on dimensions of a good ramp. Thanks!
Great track Awseome 🎉
Heya, if you had to choose, would you got for the Traxxas XRT or the Arrma Kraton 1/5 EXB?
Love ur videos man ! Do u like it better than driving the xmaxx? How different is it?
@RazorRC
Жыл бұрын
it drives different, at the end of the day the XMaxx is a super tough basher, and the XRT is a race truck version of it. seems obvious, but nobody seems to be able to realize that.
Should try to put thicker oil in shocks and tighten the springs
Hi, nice video! is it possible to share where the track is? Thanks!
Sounded like you were lettin off the throttle just before the top of the jumps when you went nose down.. mine tends to jump nose up
Hi razor rc would you like to make a comparison of 1/5 scale trucks as well as you have done it before on 1/8 scale? Maybe the air controll could be improved with the 1/5 Outcast wheels? Thanks for showing us all sides of the XRT... . Whats the weight compared to the Kraton 1/5 scale? Cheers Benni
That's A nice spot
That looks like fun my buddy just bought one of them RC's. That truck seems to have a lot of kick up from the rear end over jumps how would I stop that from happening
@RazorRC
Жыл бұрын
it's actually too soft in the rear
Decrease tension in the rear springs might help with the nose dive. Looks like to me the rear tires are pushing the rear end up.
@radiovlogi
Жыл бұрын
Looks a bit bouncy in the rear to me too. Nothing you can't tune with some shock oil or tension trickery I suppose. This looks so good. Never wanted an X-maxx, but this one makes me feel the wants.
Looks like it needs taller gear to be able to pull that front up when in the air.
This is the first running video I've seen of this truck that isn't paid for by Traxxas. To be honest, speed seems to be decent, but more is always better. Haha. Missing wing is standard for most RCs with a wing... I've seen so many people break off the wings in cars, it seems very few companies make a decent wing mount that can take a few hits. Traction looked ok, especially on a damp track, so that's a positive for the tyres. Suspension however; "Houston, we have a problem". Massive kick up off the jumps and a crazy amount of rebound when you land. Did Traxxas even test this thing? 🤦🏼♂️ Unless you've been messing around with the suspension, this truck needs a complete suspension tune. And did I see that right, the chassis is lower than the rear diff? 😳 I need to go look at some pics of this thing... I have one on order and I'm already starting to have second thoughts. 🤦🏼♂️😟

The wing adds Stability in the air. mine jumps sweet. not nose heavy at all ... tires are a factory as well in gearing / tuning the way you drive ✌
Are rear springs more powerful than front? If so I wonder if rear suspension kick the tail up and sends truck nose diving on jumps. Something to experiment with I guess.

needs stiffer rear springs actually

Despite the crack, I really like how that center skid is designed. I figure it won't be long before someone makes an aluminum replacement - it will dramatically increase the strength and durability of the chassis (good for bashing) but it will keep the weight low for even better handling!

My new xmaxx pushed out of the box. With a little research, I found that trx put heavier diff oil in the rear diff from the factory. This went against my setup for every 4wd buggy and truggy I've ever raced or bashed. I just swapped the front and rear diffs, the problem was fixed, and then I could throttle steer leaving turns instead of babying it out of the turns. If they tuned the xrt diffs the same way they did the xmaxx diffs, swapping the f and r diffs will take away push, and give more on power steering👍
@RazorRC

I noticed the rear diff feels more stiff than the front. Good tip! It definitely is missing on-power steering.
They should have made this a 1/8 scale instead of the sledge . Ijs

Kind of a race basher truggy but not as a pure breed racer like those ET Tekno, TLR eight-T etc etc
here in the UK they are selling the Traxxas XRT for well over £1000 for a brittle plastic everything oversized tamiya, thats £300 more expensive than Arrma that comes with aluminum chassis and alu/carbon parts and the countless armma carbon/alu upgrades already easily available, sorry but, at least here in the UK, traxxas is a very expensive mistake.

One reason why I don't think xrt race class will become very popular is price, and place to run. It's also interesting how funny car was never super popular but after some time nprc become super popular
It’s a heavy truck, so you gotta stay on the throttle or nose dip.
It is a lovely car we did great parts put together and yet it’s reminds me why I hate Arrma 🚗🚗 Xbox design way better way higher in design for rough terrain it is just a middle truck with a lot of power not good for me I’ll stick to Xmax until they can come out with something better😉
seems like a rustler the size of a xmaxx

it really is
Traxxis calls it the self righting system.
just an over priced big rustler…. traxxas will suck in many people to buy this.
I think your video is the third or fourth I’ve seen where the center of the chassis broke. It’s a heavy, low profile truck that has a lot of chassis slap. Loos like Traxxas needs to upgrade that center chassis support. Looks good though. To big for my taste. 6S is the highest I go.
@RazorRC
Жыл бұрын
hopefully RPM or M2C or somebody makes a more durable center skidplate, the stock one is kinda weak IMO.
The few main players of a 5th truggy is this and arrma. But one thing the xrt is not is a race truggy. Race cars must be able to be tuned well, for a variety of tracks with super low cg. The xrt, like other Traxxas 4x4s puts the driveshaft under the motor with lots of plastic. Good for bashing, not for racers. Still the flat 3 diff setup with tons of suspension adjustment reigns supreme on tracks. Traxxas just does other things better than track car companies. E.g. Marketing!, Huge distribution network for parts, great Rc cars that open the hobby to the masses for a fair price, repairs have gotten far easier, hop ups and upgrades, and Traxxas cars (except for the revo) tend to be very durable. If the xrt allows for a 1/5 truggy race class then great! If it takes off, even better for Rc. If that happens it’ll be like other times Traxxas helped blossom a new race class. Everyone will drive traxxas until losi, associated, Tekno, mugen, etc comes along and builds a better TRACK car. With that said I think the xrt is awesome! It’s a low cg xmaxx. If one likes a low slung, nimble bashers then get it and have fun. If you like monster trucks, rock crawlers, it’s all good, there’s room for everyone. Btw, nothing says you can’t race a Traxxas. Traxxas has done a lot for the Rc hobby, I’ve seen countless people really get into track racing simply bc one day they decided to show up at a local track with a slash. I like traxxas cars quite alot, you just won’t see me have one at a track unless it’s in the parking lot screwing around. For the record I currently have an xmaxx with a hobby wing max 5 combo, kraton 6s exb with a castle system, tekno eb48, eb410, et410, sct410, mt410, associated b6, sc6, mugen mbx8 worlds nitro buggy, losi scte, losi 5ive T. I’ve had many many more rc’s both of bashers and track cars over the last 30 years from HPI, habao, Tamiya and everything in between. I’m not a fanboi of any brand, except maybe tekno, awesome electric cars. The xrt might have its track day glories and victories and that’ll last until a real race car company builds a better one.
Look like xmax slow, and not that durable i watched both videos and broken both times with very light jumping???
Yep not really a heavy basher or stunt truck
hmm. That car frontdives to much
Not at all.
No! Race vehicles are designed to be tuned for different race conditions. Speaking bluntly, the whole purpose of this RC is to take away sales from Arrma. That's it. Traxxas is a basher company. The only time you ever competitively race a Traxxas is in a "spec" series where all other cars are outlawed.
