My second nitro of all time I had the Tmaxx 3.3 hated the electric starter do to the bad batteries but boy I build that up then after 12 years got stolen brings back memories cool. Earl thanks so much the king of R/C 👍🏻 thanks brother love I h the videos

I'm not sure what you're doing to clean it after runs, but just be super AWARE of not removing the air filter unnecessarily. Often time a tiny piece of dirt will fall into the carb while putting the filter back on. I remove mine only when I can wash it in the sink thoroughly before installing.

Well your in the right spot ,best way to run in a Nitro is on the ground. Can't let a new motor run wild before it's broken in. That's the way ruin a good motor.

The amount of nitro enthusiasts that don't understand how nitro smoke works is crazy.. I've talked to so many people that absolutely Swore running rich always creates more more smoke, and thats a load of horseshit. The fuel Doesn't get burned properly if there's too much of it, causing very little to no smoke, boggyness, and a lot of oil coming out the exhaust. The signs of lean and rich aren't similar at all, either, too lean causes cutting out during acceleration, high idle, and overheating. Most importantly, we always remember to look at the signs, smoke is not a sign of running too rich, it's a sign of a proper tune, the more the better.

Sounding good. Keep an eye on your temperature. I use a combination of 10oz of Simple Green and fill the rest of the way with water in a spray bottle to clean my vehicles, then use an air compressor to blow it dry. When cleaning your tires, there are two holes on the inside of the wheels. Cover those up with tape to keep any liquid out. Spray some Simple Green and scrub them with like a fingernail brush and blow them dry with compressed air. One of those pancake type air compressors from Home Depot or whatever works well and is compact to keep in your garage or shop without compromising too much space.

I like the t-maxx but the revo 3.3 is my nitro of choice. The pipe comes out the back so you don't get nitro fuel down the side of your RC. Awesome video 👍

I love my RCs with the two speed. There's just something about having another gear.

@@earlmoorhead5555 Eh, it's fine. I broke my engines in that way for years. I followed their directions even though it didn't make sense to me. I got tired of replacing engines after 3-4 gallons and just started breaking them in how I broke in plane engines. The heat cycle method. I have a few from 2008-2010 that are still ripping wheelies. Nitros will last a long time if you take care of them.

I can smell that nitro burning 🔥

Love watching Nitro, but the tuning scares me away. Wish they had a nitro version of the infraction. Kyosho had an 1/8 scale challenger at one time. Wonder what it was like as a nitro. I'll keep my electric ARRMAs. 😁

The 3.3 really easy to tune just a different experience in rc cars 💨💨💨

Each video is a learning experience the tmaxx is coming along nicely you probably already may have but check the slipper clutch for correct tension could possibly keep it from shifting, if it’s taking off to slow in first gear could be a little loose, I’m sure you already know that tho, it’s getting good looking forward to seeing more vids on the two Maxx’s 👍

Ever since my first nitro, the T-Maxx .15, I've been sorta breaking it in like this video. A figure-8 pattern on the ground leaning it out with each tank. Always worked out pretty well for me.

Whenever it seems like it’s hesitating or taking a while to shift in, take some out of the hsn. A good trick to get the lsn hitting is to pinch the fuel line and count how many seconds it takes to die and see whether it speeds up or just bogs to a stall.

Good tip on the LSN adjustment. Id usually set my 1/8 buggys up with a slight increase on rpm on the pinch…..not sure if thats 100% correct?They had/have no hesitation down low. HSN usually set by a thin/clear exhaust stream and spit test on heat sink

The new model Tmaxx 3.3 has temperature sensor. On the cooling head that reads from the Traxxas link app. But the temp gun good to.

would adjust the shifting threshold and make it shift sooner because is seems to really need to rev out in order to shift.

Very cool, warming to nitro

When you take temp take it from the glow plug you get more accurate reading and don’t take all day to temp it have that gun in your hand ready otherwise it’ll cool down before you get the real temp it was running.

As rc cars have a lot of plastics I feel any used rc has a life span and if you don’t know how it was treated for the price of a nitro better to buy new in my opinion 👍💨💨

Yo I have some questions? I just picked one up for like 50 bucks I thought it was sized motor but it just had some sticky stuff in the ez start and I got it to run but idk if it’s slips? Or just sounds gorgy if you know what I mean? Idk what type of fuel they used. Just got into nitro and been having good luck.

My had the same problem when letting off the throttle. I think its the linkage not allow the throttle closing all the way on the carb. Or set to high or even fuel mixture i. Checked the idle gap and seen it not closing all the way with engine off. Redid the linkage to close all the way.

sounds like your idle is to high ? your temps looked good just don't go over 270 !!! towards the end of video sounded a lot better ! On hot days run it leaner and cold days richer !!!

It's 10mm total stock is 5mm so he drilled 8mm

The reason is not Shifting is you’re not reaching the right temperature between 200 to 250.
