I don't think you can change the radio ...aren't these things proprietary? unless it uses the Spektrum Rx ...that would be great

You can not change radios. You would have to do some modification in order to change radios. However if you decide to mod it, then warranty would be invalid.

Kyle Ortega​ yeah i understand that ... I hope the Rx is not integrated with the main board. If it is then forget about adding a full range RX/TX in the mix 

great view! I'm new at this and havent had my aton very long but I think if you put an SD card in the aton before you take it up it will record the altitude as well as the flight path.. I'm curious how far you got..good stuff!

Its in the app settings. I would not recommend it as the old law of 400 ft should be drilled in your head. Always check your settings and power on the radio and the battery. Wait for the sats to link and set your RH. Test it before you attempt to go to the ceiling. I discovered the person I purchased the quad from had the rates set at 20%. This is done on the radio in the menu settings. Enjoy and remember it might say level 1 on the box but this Aton is far above a level 1 user.

It's loosing signal between transmitter and drone , once this happens it automatically enters return to home. Looks to be at about 600 to 700ft.

He must be using a power antenna.

I took my limiter off too but still only got like 5 to 600 hundred feet before it returned to home. can't get it to do what yu do in a residential area.

I just got an aton and I'm scared to go above the trees lol

wow thats awesome dude! i love my aton and i turned the altitude ceiling off as well. did it go into return home mode? it looks like you were able to take it back over when it did. how did you take it back over? by hitting the air brake button on the controller?

I would love to go that high in my neighborhood, but even though there isn't an airport within 2 miles of me small planes fly low in the area that I live. I have two small airports in my area. One is private.

with the altitude limit off does the return to home still work ???

Yes it still works because the return to home will apply if it gets out of signal range

You barely see it, But return to home button does the trick. You can see it but you really cant tell which way its facing. It looks like a dot in the sky at that altitude.

transmitter signal breaks up (it has a puny transmitter because it isn't meant for high altitude or long range) ,then the aircraft starts descending

Throttle MAX until "Return Home" kicks in, is what I am planning to do as soon I get my Aton. Any suggestions before I do my take off ? Thank you for sharing your experiment !

Register your quadcopter and be sure to call your nearest airport. Find out if there are any registered flight plans near you. The last thing we as drone pilots need with all the newly imposed regulations is a downed passenger aircraft because of an individuals negligence. Then, if all checks out, be careful and have fun with it! May not be the answer you wanted but the number one thing is be responsible.

Travis Reese I totally agree, my nearest Airport is 18 Km away, but I was told there could be some aviation corridor above the Park I use to fly at. So I am looking for maps that would give that info, but could not find any.

Yeah ! I tried that NO Limits only last week (at Night), after 6 months owning my Aton, and did not even go until RTH kicked in cause could almost not see the Drone lights anymore... Scared shit out of me... Thank's for Wind drift recommendations !

Love it. Not sue the height

Put a micro sd in it. There is a spot under the canopy. Then you can put the micro sd in your computer. Download mission planner from planner.ardupilot.com and you can see your relative altitude, vertical speed etc

That's the return to home kicking in. And me taking it back over and it kicking back in. I wish I knew the altitude. I've even tried to find a app that records the highest altitude for my iPhone 6 plus. And ziptieing it to the Aton.

Cool" but I still don't see the type of drone that am thinking off, (1) I need a silent Drone that can ascend up to cloud level with long Hours of battery life, or they could add alternator to the propeller motor, So while Flying you still charging battery (2) powerful reception antenna and a little parachute in case for safety landing (3) Can also operate through WiFi and mobile tower e.g. you put a sim card in drone and you could fly miles and miles away from home and still and stay connected through mobile tower is like making a call sending information back and forth, from the tower to ur Drone

+Phoenix Hounter The problem is all quadcopter's beat the air into submission, hence the short flight times. Unlike model planes that produce lift with little power, quads us a lot of power to stay in the air. If you lose the prop motor on a model plane you can glide it down to a landing, quads just fall like brick.

I'm not a flat weather, but using a fisheye lens like this isn't something to prove a point over. NASA uses a fish eye lens. This is what the flat earthers wine about.

I was going to recommend this to the flat Earther's since the 360 shot shows the curve of the globe perfectly! Lol

$400 quad $400 gopro. Lol that's nothing to some I've seen go high enough to look down on the clouds.

depends on the transmitter really...and cloud ceiling. My 350 qx3 can easily go 1 kilometer high for example.
