6s 1/16 😂 crazy but it works

these 1/16 traxxas cars are really fun my first rc car a few years ago was 1/16 e revo VXL was hooked once i ran it on 3s, 2 years later and got like 10 cars now

Nice! Yea it’s addicting but lots of fun!

Of 2 mervs iv had one for probably 14 years, best combo iv used is the stock vxl motor paired with a sidewinder mounted inside the right side battery tray with the top cut out for the wires and cooling fan to stick out, run the biggest 3s you can fit and gear it to the max, plenty of torque from the stock vxl motors to make it grenade diffs on demand and does well over 50mph..currently running mine on 3s with 33/50 gearing.

I’ve been wanting to do it with a VXL-3s from a 1/10 Scale. And use a Big 3s. And maybe even have Merv A-Arms for stability!

That would be a way better choice, this was more to see if I could do it, I wanted to do the 1717 next.

What pinion and spur are you running on this? I'm going to keep the stock gearing and install a 2s-4s brushless motor and esc combo (4000kv) but I feel like I'm going to shred the stock plastic spur. Let me know

Funny how many guys are wanting to destroy their car with this mod. As you stated, it has issues handling stock motors, let alone going monster sized.

Setting up my 1/16 revo with a 540 Ruddog 10.5t brushless motor. Wonder how it's going to do compared to the stock vxl system

I have my TRX4 running a 4 cell with a 80 amp ESC by Holmes Hobbies, it is very fast but not fast enough. Yes, I know.. it’s a crawler, but it can move!

What pitch pinion gear are you using? Trying to upgrade our slash.. the shaft of the motor we have is 5mm

Factory 48p, just bought some assorted 5mm 48p pinions, I think I ran a 35 tooth

Yeah I actually run the short course esc and motor you had on there previously in my rustler 4x4 🤣 what does it take to fit these motors

Not too much mods, just a big ole pinion, it fits good but it’s definitely way too much power!

That specific castle motor is what I'm running in my Traxxas, it's hard to keep on the ground. My Traxxas would stay on the ground until I hit 60mph then it would just catch 5ft of air. Had to modify some of the body for it to.

It’s way over kill, if you want a good motor upgrade do a 14 series motor, it would still be way more power but more realistic then this set up

More proof that just because you can do something doesn't mean it is a "upgrade."

Lower it and put foams on it.

Now, leave that motor in and convert the Slash into a 1/16 drag car. That's what I'm currently doing.

@@mikerc69 I have a castle mamba x coming in the Mail. Hopefully the infamous 1415 2400kv motor by next month is coming too. I live in Japan, hard to get great American made RC parts like the castle creation brands and traxxas. If you do find them, they are super over priced. You have to go online to get them. What I am doing isn’t new, people are doing it, but NOT here, in Japan. They follow too many rules on how shit works. What I mean is.., if I am putting an overpowered ESC and motor on a crawler, that to Japanese men, is bad or breaking the rules of what the RC is designed for. You get my point? I am like.., WHY NOT HAVE FUN!!
