Travis is my fav artist in the game rn. It’s become a trend to hate on him and mfs say he’s “not good singer” just bc he uses autotune but like Kanye with 808s - Travis uses autotune as a tool to deepen the emotion of his singing and create an ethereal, futuristic vibe. Anyone who questions his talent & passion need to look up his performance of SKELETONS at ACL 2018 - the last 3 mins of it he freestyle sings and pours his heart out to commemorate X & Mac Miller after their passing. Trav is an amazing producer, rapper, & singer and his discography is elite.

His vocals were clean enough. No autotune needed, just a bit of Equalising and compressing needed. Travis himself is very talented at mixing and mastering, don’t get me wrong, but what was needed here I could have taught someone in 10 minutes

There is a difference and everyone knows. He won’t just use a totally raw vocal and he sang into a $ 15,000 mic, not into a phone mic with which this was recorded. But the vocals are very balanced already, probs only some eq and minor editing

For anyone who doesn't know shit about how vocal processing works. The Auto-Tune is on as he is rapping and he hears himself with the Auto-Tune in order to control it. What you are hearing is the already auto-tuned live vocals.
