I am a Tibetan living in New York. This summer, for the first time, my family and I got a visa to travel to Tibet. We are amazed at the development. We travelled to my parent's village near Gyantse. The living standard of Tibetan people is far better than in India. It is good that you are to show true condition of Tibet to people in India,

Any political issue can be discussed in China. The guide advises you not to discuss political issues in order to avoid unnecessary disputes or even conflicts, because the mainstream media in the West and India have deliberately vilified China's history and status quo for a long time. The views of the two sides are completely opposite. There is no need to add trouble.

The Tibetan people are an important member of the Chinese national family. Xizang was called "Tubo" in the Tang and Song Dynasties, "Uszang" in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, and "Tanggute" and "Tubot" in the Qing Dynasty. It has been called "Xizang" since the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. On May 23, 1951, Xizang was peacefully liberated. It's good that you enjoyed the rare experience of traveling to Tibet. You would have noticed how clean and well maintained the place is. As regards the last burial tradition. It's believed in Buddhism that one should serve others as much as its possible while living. Then even after death, when you feed the vultures with your flesh. It's considered as the final way of serving others. Unless you understand the concept behind it, it might sound a bit shocking for people. Hope this explains. 🙏🏻🕉️👌

The McMahon Line was first drafted in 1913, and the treaty to ratify them (Simla Accords) was never signed by the Republic Of China(ROC) who had just overthrown the Qing dynasty. There was no such thing as the McMahon Line in 1890, and China isn't disputing where the Line was drawn, she's disputing the validity of the Line in its entirety. The primary Indian claim is that the ROC did sign the Simla Accords because a British official called Olaf Caroe fabricated a narrative in 1938 where the ROC signed the Simla Accords (they didn't) and ceded parts of Tibet to the Raj. In 1963 a British diplomat compared a pre-1938 treaties compendium with the post-Caroe compendium and found that Caroe had changed the note on the ROC's not signing the Simla Accords into one where the ROC signed it and considers the Indo-Tibetan border finalised. Nehru picked up a copy of Caroe's fabricated compendium so he got the impression that his country was legally entitled to more than she actually was. Compounding this was the US' decision to add fuel to the flames by declaring the McMahon Line as the legitimate boundary in an attempt to contain the spread of communism, despite reservations from the US State Department and protests from the fiercely non-communist Chiang Kai-Shek, leader of the ROC. However, we all know Nehru irreversibly altered his country's relations with China in 1962, so by 1963, when the fabrication was discovered, it was already too late to stem the tide of Indian nationalism based on the false compendium entry. And that leaves us with the situation today, in the aftermath of a British attempt to de jure carve out a piece of Chinese territory which failed but had some success de facto, then a British fabrication of her failed attempt to carve out Chinese territory, then an Indian acceptance of the British fabrication alongside American endorsement, and a Chinese refusal to accept the fabrication as anything remotely legal. Some Indians recognise that they don't actually have a legal claim to South Tibet, so they've begun using a different claim in that the people living in South Tibet want to be part of India more than China; in essence, a claim based on the principle of self-determination. This is India's secondary claim. However, as history has shown time and time again (Catalonia, Confederate States, Taiwan, Corsica, Chechnya, Tibet, Naxalites), without the permission of the larger body, a smaller section of the population will not be allowed to separate from its original country regardless of what they want. A much more detailed account of the McMahon Line and its history is available here, written by Peter Lee who, contrary to impressions given by his surname, is not at all Chinese.

Impermanence and compassion is a cornerstone of Buddhist teaching and practice. Sky burial is seen as the last act of compassion (giving your no longer useful deceased body to the vultures for food). After death, the body is of no use, so instead of burying it or burning it, offering it as sustenance to the hungry vultures is seen as being selfless and compassionate. Also, tibet generally speaking (especially western tibet) is a dry and arid region with not many trees growing, so using scarce resources like wood to bury or burn bodies is wasteful and not sustainable environmentally speaking. It is true that Tibetans have a soft spot for India in their hearts. There is a big tibetan diaspora residing in India(descendants of tibetan refugees) and Bodhgaya is a place that every Tibetan buddhist wants to visit in their lifetime. Bodhgaya in Bihar is considered a holy place in the hearts and minds of all Tibetans much like Buddhists from other parts of the world.

@@funsokcalvin6269 Lozang Gyatso, the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, started the construction of the modern Potala Palace in 1645, after one of his spiritual advisers, Konchog Chophel (died 1646), pointed out that the site was ideal as a seat of government, situated as it is between Drepung and Sera monasteries and the old city of Lhasa. The external structure was built in 3 years, while the interior, together with its furnishings, took 45 years to complete. Construction lasted until 1694, some twelve years after his death. The Potala palace was used as a winter palace by the Dalai Lama from that time. Therefore, from the 6th Dalai Lama onwards it became a permanent place for the subsequent Dalai Lama thereafter.

Thank you Bhai for showing Lhasa. I will add few things about India and Tibetan relationship. 1) the monks debating Buddhist philosophy is a tradition passed down from Nalanda University from India. So it has its roots in Bihar India. 2) Tibetan in Tibet learns Hindi because of love of India, birthplace of Buddha, historic respect of India’s influence on Tibetan culture, and of course hospitality of Tibetan and Dalai Lama in India, and Bollywood. Tibetan name for India is “gyagar phake yul” or holy Indian land. 3) The monastery you mentioned Deprung and Sera has their sister monastery in Bylakypee and Mungod in south India. Last but not least, we hope to see a liberated Tibet someday and we will welcome all our Indian brothers and sisters. Jai Hind, and Jai Tibbat!

Spoken language and written script are very different things. You can't label anyone using roman script as English language. Just like Vietnamese used roman script but it will be wrong to say Vietnamese use English language. I can also write down my mother language in roman script but that doesn't mean my mother language has English origin.

But after 1950 it was not possible. Instead all monks from these countries are coming to India mainly in Karnataka where all major monasteries are established. Karnataka host the largest Tibetan refugees about 40%.

Modern India and modern Pakistan are both British colonies. Before being colonized by the British, the lands of these two countries were composed of many small countries. so There was no India as a country before the British colonized, It is shameless that the Indians considered themselves the heirs of the British colonialists after the British left。 In 1652, the Fifth Dalai Lama of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism was invited to Beijing to meet with Emperor Shunzhi, the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. He presented Shunzhi with the title of "Emperor Wenshu", and Shunzhi presented him with the title of "Dalai Lama". Later, the fifth Panchen Lama accepted the title given by Kangxi Emperor and established the relationship between the two parties [11]. As a result, the Qing Dynasty officially recognized the titles of the Dalai Lama and the Panchen Erdeni and their political and religious status in Tibet, and thereafter the titles of the Dalai Lama and the Panchen Lama were customized by the Chinese government. In 1727, Emperor Yongzheng officially established a minister resident in Tibet to handle affairs related to Tibet. Representatives of the National Government attended the enthronement of the 14th Dalai Lama. In April 1940, the Commission for Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs set up an office in Lhasa as the representative office of the Chinese government in Tibet. Did you know that the title of Dalai Lama was conferred by the Qing Dynasty Emperor of China? Dalai Lama means sea in Mongolian.

@@arjunsavanur7242 Fun fact: Sikkim was once an independent state with a king, Palden Thondup Namgyal. He was deposed after Indian army invaded his tiny kingdom and through a staged "referendum" organised by India on 14 April 1975, which resulted in the abolition of the monarchy and Sikkim becoming a state of India. Namgyal was placed under house arrest. He attempted suicide multiple times. Now you know why all of India's neighbours prefer Beijing over New Delhi?

Yup Indian govt is now abstaining or creating hurdles for Chinese citizens even to get regular visa to India. Chinese citizens would never be allowed to enter sensitive Indian regions like Kashmir, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, etc thinking them as spy.
