TRAVELLING to the ISLE OF WIGHT on the ISLE OF WIGHT FERRY
Today I'm travelling to the Isle fo Wight on the Isle of Wight Ferry. I LOVE ferries so I was pretty excited! We had travelled up from South Wales (passing through Cardiff and Newport) earlier in the day, and if you would like to see that part of our day then it is in PART 1 of this little series and you can watch it here:

We ultimately end up in SHANKLIN today, but things start to go wrong just as we're getting off the ferry and we get awfully held up. Will we manage to get any dinner tonight before everything shuts?!

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a formerly homeschooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. I can see the excitement on your face and hear it in your voice..... *** Imo is happy to be travelling *** 💖 My kids always loved going on the ferry, it was the highlight of our road trips. Hi Izzy !!!!.. nice to see your cute face. 🥰 It could be that between the sailings, crew sanitize the boat using the big sprayers similar to fire extinguishers. The ups, down and unexpected make for a great adventure. We once pulled into a small town on the Prairies, starving for food, only to discover the town rolled up the sidewalks at 9pm. Good thing I had planned ahead with road trip snacks, and had sandwiches, fruit, veggies, chips and drinks. So we had a picnic in the smallest motel room we ever stayed in. An adventure that the kids thought was fun. ha. So decadent that Izzy got her own room.. bet she enjoyed that. Happy travels !!. 💖
That's an amazing zoom on that camera. The Farringford ferry in the old picture was commissioned in 1947 and operated until the 1970's. The truck company was a merger of Timothy Whites and Taylor's Drug Co. from 1935-1968 when it became Boots Pure Drug company. I am not a car expert, but that looks like a rather posh car behind the truck. I suspect you are correct to guess the 1950's I saw Izzy peaking behind the seat! We are going to have to have a contest to see how often we spot Izzy. Looks like an adventure. I look forward to more footage.

That's a nice little port to take the ferry from...the last time we went to the Isle of Wight, we went from Southampton using Red Funnel...quite a few years ago now!

Yeah, I was thinking the same. They have the route marked out with markers on poles out on the water. There seem to be sandbanks.

That was so fun! Nice seeing traveling again.
The scenery is breathtaking. The wisps of clouds in the sky and view of the boats from the ferry... Its stunning even if its noisy sometimes. Besides, the coffee machine makes up for any noise. Lol

The breeze blew one's cobwebs out of their brains I bet. Now we know why there are plenty of inside spaces, not only rain, but wind drives one inside. Looks like great fun so far especially because you still managed to find a good meal at the end of the day.

I'm currently experiencing some self-doubt and discouragement, so I'm struggling to get through the first draft of the second book, but I'm trudging through it & I'm allllllmost to the end. Josh is currently reading the first book and providing feedback on it. 😬🤞He's the first person I've let read it, so it's a bit nerve wracking.

I just thought of something - what that ferry is missing is...entertainment! Maybe a band or some singers and dancers or something. IB should have whipped out his fiddle and did some busking! I mean it's not like the audience is going anywhere :)

Isn't it nice to be out on a adventure more than a few blocks from home. Put 10 of those ferries together and you have a cruise ship.😀
Got to love a nice boat trip , our last one was probably Cairnryan-Belfast a good few year back . Gopro question lol , it looks like you are using your camera without the mod and just some little wind jammers on ? And going by the audio no cracking or popping .. Have you mastered it or just wait till its warmed up a bit .. Glad you managed to get a feed before they all closed perfect timing .

Hello! Correct - no mod and I haven't had much crackling on this one, and then, in the video after this the crackling started!! The Frugal Travellers (channel) also use the 9 and have reported similar problems. I do use three windjammers on the mics which keeps most of the wind noise at bay. I'm pretty sure I did nest the GoPro sequences and use parametric EQ on it... I think? I know I do sometimes... it kind of depends if I'm trying to match it to another camera used in the video or not. If I'm filming POV and talking behind the camera with a mask on, for example, I tend to EQ it because it comes out so muffled. I just added a Canon G7X Mark ii to my arsenal. I got sick of the horrible colour on the Sony Handycam and the GoPro just won't play ball in the lighting environment of my house. It only likes bright daylight outdoors, although shops tend to be well lit for it, too, I find. Nice to see you! Oh btw, still no trouble with the on off on the new camera exclusively using the holey door. I need to experiment to confirm if my theory about the battery not connecting properly is right or not... Bye for now! Imo

Sign of the times! I’m capturing stuff like that for looking back on when this is all done with. I think people will be fascinated about 2020-2021 in the future. Imagine if we could watch vlogs for the Spanish flu era? It would be incredible.

This ferry the Wight Sky was involved in 3 major engine fires before as well and I’ve been up on the captains bridge on this one, and Wight Sun replaced the Wight Sky whilst it was under investigation!

I've been back for a week, almost. It took me all this time to edit the footage and I'm just doing the ferry trip back, now. I usually turn my vlogs around in 24 hours but I filmed WAY too much during this trip.

I used my editing software - Premier Pro BUT you can do this within KZread creator studio itself. It's not as easy to control, but there is a face detection and tracking option in it. How well it works really depends on the type of shot and the type of movement and if the face ducks in and out of view or if someone walks past them in the foreground... that sort of thing. It gets updated from time to time, so I would filter by date if you're searching a tutorial on it. x

You are way more advanced on the techie stuff than us... we tend to just point and shoot with the default settings,and try to edit around any issues by cutting things out or superimposing a photo 😂 We have a lot to learn but sometimes it seems so daunting and it's easier to just watch Netflix 🤣😀😊
