When I was 5, my mom casually mentioned when she went to the family farm in Virginia that they couldn't stop to eat anywhere. I asked if it was because they were poor, but when she told me it was because they were black I melted to the floor in a pathetic mess of tears. I was SO hurt! Still am, and that was 30+ years ago.

There is a recording of the incident that I have been legally fighting to get but I’m sure it will be accidentally erased.

I didnt even think of stuff like this growing up in WI and MN and when I moved to the city I joined a motorcycling group (just crotch rockets and standard bikes) and some of my friends in the group was black and another from UAE (middle eastern). We went for a long ride one night into northern WI and when I mentioned stopping to hit the restroom and get food, they refused, and I didnt understand why. And it was literally because they were afraid for their life in rural WI, and when I started to watch after that at the looks they received, I understood that racism is still very real in places you dont expect.

Its not about racism, it's about perceived social sect and the reputation that goes with it. Dress like a criminal thug or gang member of some sort and you will get treated accordingly even if you are not one. Same with dressing decent and looking like you care about your appearance. You can be the biggest loser scumbag to exist but people will show you trust and respect because of the perception of who you are based on the social uniform you have on. Thats how life works so dress as you want to be perceived.

I ain't the smartest guy on the block but it don't take much sense to see the direct relationship between how one looks and how others react to and treat them. I wear my worst home work grubbies to town an everyone thinks I'm a bum and give me room an act accordingly but I put my 'sunday besties' on shave my face and wash my hands properly and people hold doors open for me while smiling with friendly courtesy. It don't take too much brains to figure that pattern out but then I don't think any of the 'wrongly persecuted' members of society has any brains an basic sense left anyway.

the problem that modern blacks have is their national "leadership" have rejected civil society as "white" society and instead spend all their time and treasure convincing black people to not fit in or get along - case in point, giving your kids non (traditionally) Christian names that sound African but are really just made up words. and don't even get me started on rap culture and it's accepted influence in the lives of young black ppl. even the AFRICANS who come to America to move forward in life don't fit in with American blacks because American blacks have totally isolated themselves in an effort to create their own American society.

I don't feel guilty, being white, for what happened to black people and what still happens on occasion (mostly as a result of racists getting into law enforcement). Why should I? I'm not racist. There is not ONE thing in this video that tries to convince white people that we should feel guilty. There is not even a HINT of an insult towards white people. ANYONE who feels like this video is race-baiting, either IS guilty because they ARE racist, or is angry because they want attention instead (so they pretend that whites are victimized). Or, they are delusional. For those delusional folks: no the speakers in this video are not talking about YOU, nor are they talking about white people TODAY, nor are they talking about ALL white people of the past. In fact, they didn't even mention white people at all! Stop trying to look for things that don't exist. Black people don't look for equality by belittling whites. However, white people look for equality by belittling blacks. (And no, I'm not talking about ALL blacks or ALL whites, duh. I'm talking about the people that believe they are being treated as less equal than someone of another skin color, like the people claiming this video is race-baiting.) Seriously, if you have to put blacks down and trivialize their experiences just to make yourself feel superior, then you need to do something thinking about who's actually racist.

+William Nolan "I guess the producer of this video had a level of expectation for the viewer before the video started" What does this mean? And it doesn't matter that people can watch the video to see what it's actually about. There's still that second where you clicking on it thinking it was something else and realize you didn't get what you were told. It doesn't matter if it's only a moment; it shouldn't happen AT ALL. The title should give you an accurate description before you even click on the video. "Did you think you were making a comment that was news worthy or just stating a very basic fact." This is such a nothing sentence. Did you think YOUR comment was newsworthy? Why are you making it if it wasn't newsworthy? See how pointless that is? That's such a high standard that you would never apply to yourself as evidenced by your comment. "You shouldn't comment unless it should be put in the news." Why do you have an issue with me saying that video titles should be true, and this one should be changed so that it accurately reflects the video? Why do you prefer videos NOT doing that? What's wrong with believing in honesty and being loyal to the truth?

this is America - we do NOTHING extra for black ppl and let them figure it out among themselves - no more welfare, no more affirmative action, no more "black history month", etc - time to stand on your own two Air Jordans btw, Rudy Giuliani's Stop and Frisk cleaned up NYC to the point here women could walk the streets at night and not get raped. after the "white flight" of the 50's, NYC was a total shithole city till Trump and others cleaned it up in the 80's

  • @malikrath9503

Wow, so you crazy huh. So ummm lemme get this straight.... EVERY SINGLE black person waists all their money on Air Jordans and that is their problem huh? EVERY SINGLE... and you don't see a problem with this generalization? Stop and Frisk, stopping a black person and frisking them prevents rape? how? No no stop and frisk was supposed to find drugs and it didn't do shit btw, it harasses a lot of innocent brown people, and most of the time didn't find nothing, so stop lying. That's the problem with black people, they get a little bit of money and they just buy Air Jordans... silly black people. You're a fucking moron.

  • @anon7039

    @anon7039

    6 жыл бұрын

no, not every black person WASTES their money in Air Jordans. Some black ppl steal them Stop and Frisk allowed cops to challenge loiterers - The cops knew who the bad operators were and that was a tool to let those criminals know, they were going to get pinched if they hung out in the open. It may not have REDUCED overall crime but it pushed it back into the shadows so the productive, decent ppl of society didn't have to live, work, visit the city in fear. Don't be fooled either - there were a lot of corrupt, criminal ppl in NYC at that time including dirty cops. The mafia was still fully operational, hookers, homeless, robberies in the subway, etc. You couldn't even visit central park after the sun went down or you might get killed! My relatives are from the Bronx and I'm old enough to remember. U?

Joe Bloeh I had a right to report my european-American employer to the EEOC for racial comments, mistreatment towards clients that are non-white and our trainers who teaches that all Melanin Skinned people are bad. I had a right to confront a white heroin addict female for shout out the n-word in the middle of Family Dollar Store. I have a right to record being followed in department stores or by cops for no reason and posting it to social media to encourage sale drops and for racial profiling awareness. In other words, until you have been in our shoes, you do not have the right to tell a Person of Color to be offended or not. I lived through racism all my life. If you have not, take the privilege as a blessing but do not try to shame those who are fighting back against their negative experience.

Thanks to an all white jury, everyone of which were related to a cop or law enforcement of some capacity, I was acquitted. The officer also tainted the jury attempting to cause a mistrial. also the state called a expert witness who field is video and audio forensics who's also in law enforcement that tired to convince the jury not to believe what they see in slow motion blah blah. so like I said kid, call bs all you want but this shits real and when it hits the fan I'll be sure to refer to this comment section so you can get your share of flinging shit

Regardless of their limitations, each has their own personality, each has their own quirks, passions and goals. They all have an impeccable love for life, they find beauty in the smallest of things and have opened my eyes to just how great a gift this life is.

Someone explain to me how this is clickbait? *I had my own experience like this a few years ago. I was driving from upstate N.Y. to visit my sister at college at Virginia State and I got lost somewhere in Virginia. I pulled over at a gas station to ask for directions. I approached the register to ask the cashier for directions and when i asked her how to get back to I-95, she just stared at me and didn't answer. Didn't say a word.....then when I looked over my shoulder, I noticed damn near everyone there was looking at me. I took that as my clue to back out of there but I was honestly scared for a few minutes. I've never experienced anything like that before so I can only imagine what these people lived through. And shit like this was only 50 years ago smh

We do the exact same thing in black areas. Make sure you travel at night. Do everything possible not to have to stop for any reason at all. Only pay with a credit card, and make sure to keep the receipt.

It’s April 24th, 2018 and 1600 people found something they disliked about this video. Which shoes the account of people that live through the indignity of segregation and Jim Crow. Go take several seats hater.

I feel like context is really necessary here. Not once do they mention that this all took place a LONG time ago, seems like they're purposefully trying to make it seem like this is today's world and not 70 years ago.

Why didn't they have toilet paper? I mean, no one had plastic bags back then... but I always keep a roll in the glove box.
