My mother’s brother was a toddler, just a few months old, when he was killed by an American bomb dropped on their house in the middle of nowhere. Never heard a bad word about Americans in my family though. I guess we can understand how complicated reality can be sometimes.
We are leaving for Paris tomorrow!! My wife spent last year celebrating her bday in a hospital bed! She was recovering from cancer surgery. This year we're going to Paris to celebrate her beautiful birthday!! We've been watching all your videos!! You guys are great thank you!

What a beautiful way to celebrate her recovery! Congratulations!
Great! I just cancelled our previously booked two castle tour after watching this. My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed with autism and when I asked her about doing this private tour versus one in a coach with other people she got really excited. We are booked.
Yay! The highlight of Saturday morning!

For me too🎉
I think it’s great that you are also highlighting other parts of France (although I adore your Paris videos). It means that those who want to avoid the chaos of the Paris Olympics can be well-informed about other locations to visit. (Spoken as a local who kept well away from the crowds during the Sydney Olympics 😂)

So true!
🇫🇷Merci Collen and Antoine for your Loire Chateaux video. There is an amazingly inexpensive but first class option to visit all these chateaux. I took 5 Loire tours including wineries arranged through the French tourism bureau in Tours. We traveled in luxury via small Mercedes vans and had full days of Chateaux or winery visits. The average price was between $100 to $150. And there is always an English speaker at the bureau. Reservations can be made online. Also vieux Tours is a gorgeous city with reasonable hotels and great restaurants. ❤
There’s absolutely a treasure trove of history within the Loire Valley Castles and I’m so happy that you put a spotlight on it in this video. Your tour guide was fantastic. I kinda wish that you visited more castles there like Azay-le-Rideau and Ussé, but I can’t complain. Love both of your clear and giddy excitement to visit the often overlooked beauty of France!

Agreed- if a person has time, a whole week can be done checking out castles, bicycling and checking out the cities like Amboise and Tours!

Yes she is great 😊 !!
Lovely to see Colleen wearing her favourite red scarf in this vlog. Great tour, much enjoyed. 😊
Fantastic place and episode. France is exceptional. The guide lady is so graceful and it really feels like she's a friend. Very smart way to explore a new destination, where everything is well organised. It really makes a difference to haveba person to take you from a to z and to provide all the interesting info needed without needless time wasting like when a person is going to a place for the first time, knowing nothing. That also has its own charm, but I like the organised trips for certain places. It's worth it. Thanks for taking us with you.
How magnanimous of you to highlight tour guides! This lady is great. You guys open us to places yet say "we hire people" to show you these places. Nice!

Aaahhh…The memories…I went there in 1988 and again on a tour with my Mother in 1994 when she was 70…her first trip to France…she was such a trooper…we took a tour through the Loire Valley, surprisingly in a 6 to 8 seated Mercedes…then for a week in Paris!!! Thank you again the wonderful memories!!!
A castle visiting trip to the Loire valley isn't complete without a visit to Chateau d'Angers
My mom and I saw these places in 1990. It was the trip of a lifetime.
I miss France already! Definitely, there's a lot more to see! ❤
I always enjoy your videos, but this one was very special! Who knew Leonardo live in France?! Who knew he moved the Mona Lisa to France with him?! And the hallway that led from occupied to unoccupied France?! Absolute GEMS of information!

So glad you enjoyed it ♡
There are many expats on KZread, but I follow you two, and I have loved every video that you have made. You're so good at taking us around France with you and making us feel like we're with you, while at the same time, making us want to come to France ourselves.😊 I love the way that you answer all of the questions that anyone could have, and you're so fun to watch. Thank you so much for all that you do - I know you have jobs besides this, but you are the happiest place for anyone who loves France, has been there and needs to learn more, or who wants to go. ❤❤
This has been lovely. Another place in France I need to visit. The guide is fantastic too. Thank you.

😊 We were very happy to organise this visit for you with our lovely Valentine. We are delighted to see you are having a great time. ✨Our team is ready to welcome more guests in the Loire Valley. ( Follow the link ⬆️ )
Bonjour Antoine and Coleen. My Saturday can now begin. Marvelous.
I did a tour of three chateaux in the Loire Valley on my last day in France. It was incredible!
I think 1 day can be tiring for many people, because of the travel distance. Renting a car can be a good option to consider and spending a few nights is reasonnable too. Some may reach the Atlantic coast or Normandy from there. For less crowded Loire Valley castles, those castles can offer a more intimate and relaxing visits : Amboise, Blois Castle, Azay-le-Rideau , Cheverny Chaumont-sur-Loire , Chinon , Chateau of Villandry, d'Usse, Loches Dungeon, Chartres cathedral, Orleans cathedral (on the way to Loire valley from Paris) They still have solid cultural value. It's not only about size.
Yes! Also, Tours as a city is worth a visit as well! What a wonderful guide!

Nearby Tour these is the château de Villandry that has the most interesting gardens, specially with decorative colorful pattern out of vegetables !
One of my favorite spots in France
Wow! What a wealth of knowledge she is. I want to go back to France sooo bad. Next time to some towns outside Paris.
Great video!! Thank you for sharing! 🥰
What a marvellous guide she was & a great way to see some of the chateaux in the Loire.

What a lovely day trip excursion from Paris.
Leonardo is burried in the little chapel at Château D'Amboise, but he lived just behind it at "Clos Luçé" (as seen in the video)
Great tour. France is a interesting country
Oh gosh..what a short, sweet vid on the immediate Loire castle areas. I envy the people who own Chenonceau with all its beauty and history! Val was a golden treasure as a guide. These close-up, almost familial stories of french life just warm my heart. Thanks, Antoine and Colleen. P.S. I knew LdV died in France...the Mona Lisa staying in the country...new info! 👍
❤ What a lovely guide! This is such a great program!

You both could guide people in Paris. Think about it. Would be nice and a pleasure have you both guiding. You could start in your time without hurry for a small group (2,3 or 4). Consider the idea 💡😉
Thank you for this beautiful and very interesting video. Adding the idea of such a good tour guide was great. Adding this idea to my future trips to France🎉👋
After a few days in Bordeaux, I had thought to head back to Paris via the Loire Valley, esp. Tours. But Montpelier calls to me, then high-speed back to Paris, so Loire will wait til another trip. (But the wines will be a big part of my meals in Paris.) Also, I was about the protest that the cost of your guide puts you in another target viewership than me, but on thought it is an investment in the quality of your channel, not just for a short trip, so good for you.... I watch all your vids, love your indulgences.

How did you like Bordeaux ? =)
As always a great tour with both of you, I don’t know if you had a chance to visit Chateau Vaux le Vicomte near Melun. A great place and on saturday they have candle night, just breathtaking. Many thanks to you from Montréal Canada.
I enjoyed hearing the history!
So great to see these castles and chateaus in a video. I share them with my history of interior design students. ❤️
Wonderful video ❤ Thank for for taking us along ❤
Wow! Amazing stories about Michelangelo. I went to Italy and saw so much of his work. This was a busy man. I had no idea he lived and passed away in France either. And I'm a former art student. So cool to know the story of why the Mona Lisa lives in France.

Thanks for another great video ! You may be interested to know that the programme on France TV just now about Henri II (Secrets d'histoire - Henri II, le dernier roi chevalier) includes mention and video of the Chateau de Chenonceau
How fun and informative! Will look into your tours you suggested for our trip next year. Thanks!
Wow! Thank you for all of this Historical information. Thank you so much for taking me along with you. Amen
What a lovely day out 🎉
I love the way you guys roll. Class act. Great content n editing done well once again.
What a wonderful day trip. I am now looking forward to explore the Loire Valley in the future. Absolutely beautiful!
We took a day trip by bus from Paris last year that went to Chambord, Blois and Chenonceau. It was one of the highlights of our trip❣
Thank you 🙏 so much for sharing ..LUV ...LUV ...LUV Great tour, much enjoyed.
This was fantastic 😮, thanks for sharing with us 😃😑🤗
I returned a week ago and still have my wrist watch set to Paris time. Loved it!

The castle valley of Loire is so amazing, great video
in 2014 we were lucky enough to visit the two castles! The Chambord was my favorite....the double staircase is a true work of art! They are both so beautiful and the history is so interesting. Again, thank you for another trip to France. I'll be there again in the fall but northern France, along the Seine and Normandy. I so look forward to your videos.

The château of Blois, just a few miles away from Chambord has also a double wound staircase. Nearby also the château of Cheverny that inspired the cartoons creator Ergé father of the Tintin stories, this private château borrows also one of the rare remaining dogs heards for "hunting with hounds" Not to forget the special white wine brand with unique grapes dated from "François 1st" and named "Cour Cheverny" (tasting can be done just beneath the château entrance)
Perfect viewing over lunch
Fabulous Guide 😮 Great Episode 💎 Thanks Les Frenchie's ❤
Love the Loire Valley nothing else like it. Chenonceau is my favorite. Love your new scarf!
Love this. It’s a dream of mine to visit chateau de chenonceau.
Brought back memories of our visit to these sites in the Loire Valley last November. A wonderful video. Thank you so much!
Excellent day trip. Enjoyed it too.
Another beautiful video, I lived in the Loir- et- Cher. I dreamt of living in Ambroise one day. I'll be in Paris next week and your guide and videos are going to make all the difference. Many Thanks.
My 2 favorite chateaux! First time I went, with my sister, we stayed in Blois and biked to Chambord, cheverny and Chenonceau. Left with sore behinds but great memories.
Loved this video! My friend and I visited Amboise, staying several days, and touring Clos Luce, Chambord and Chenonceau in June of 2022. I'm disabled, so some areas were not accessible to me. Your video allowed me to see many of the areas I missed. It was a wonderful trip and I was so excited to view this video. Thank you for featuring this area. Le Clos d'Amboise was a wonderful hotel and restaurant, and L'Epicerie , right next to the Chateau d''Amboise was stellar. I still dream about that meal! I also recommend Walter Isaacson's biography on Leonardo Da Vinci and the Starz series The Serpent Queen, for more background on Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. We weren't able to tour Chateau d'Amboise (if disabled, you must make a reservation to get in apparently) but the history there intrigued me as it was home to Mary, queen of Scots and Anne Boleyn at one time. Leonardo Da Vinci is believed to be buried there. La belle France!
Walked from Orlean to Samur in 2005 . The house of léonarde de Vinci is amazing and probably my favourite experience of our walk
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Lovely day trip!! Great video 👏👏👏👏
I love Amboise and didn't know the chateaus were so close. Thank you for the video. Fantastic!

Nice tour. We have been to the Loire valley 3 times and last time stayed in Amboise. It is a beautiful region with so much to see. Highly recommend it.
Thank you so much! It was fabulous!
Gorgeous scenery.. beautiful 😊
Thank you for sharing
I just wanted to say, you two are just lovely to watch - thank you for these vlogs. Would love to see a vlog on your impressions of Montreal and Quebec City in Canada (I am Canadian). I know they don't have the history of France however, given you have lived from North America it would be an interesting take. Thank you!
You brought me back to our trip to the Loir! Thank you
Thank you! Wonderful!
Beautiful and informative video! Thanks!
What awesome history !!
This was amazing!
Loved this video. I've been to Paris 3 times, but just finally made it to the Loire last year. I went to all of the places you did. I'm soooo happy that I'm not the only one who had the "Ah, that's why The Mona Lisa is in the Louvre moment." hahaha I wasn't much for history in school, but to learn it this way is devine!
Wha t a wonderful trip!
Another great video, so gladI stumbled on to your channel 😊
Oh what memories you gave me!!! I've been to those palaces many decades ago! Thank you!
Très belles visites, merci, à bientôt .
What a beautiful video you have made 👌 this is a must on the list to do indeed
Enjoying your videos.
Nice to see you enjoying more of our favorite places. We'll return to Amboise later this year.
Magnifique et superbe thème de la journée et du week end

I just found your KZread channel, and absolutely love it! I subscribed.
Thank you for the lovely videos, your videos complete my Saturdays , beautiful red scarf 🧣
Bonjour! Your videos are such a treat! I visited in September of 2018 and had an amazing time, which has left me wanting to visit again. Would it be possible to do a video on the fripperies/thrift stores, fabric and notion stores (for us sewers), and stores for traditional French white dishware?
Amazing! And, of course, we have visited all three castles. Loire valley is one of our favorite areas in France. Br, Johnny & Ewa
Loved it!!! Will you go to Versailles too? Thank you.
Very interesting. I learned something! Hurray!
Thank you for sharing ❤️ Beautiful share . What a treat ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for allowing me to relive the thrill of seeing these chateaux.
I will be in the Loire Valley In June and I can’t wait!
