La meilleure façon de profiter de Paris est d’explorer les ruelles de Montmartre plutôt que de payer trop cher pour les peintures qui font la renommée du quartier.
Versailles isn't a tourist trap lol. It's crowded, obviously, but it's also incredible.
Avoid Paris from May to October. Late Fall and the cooler weather make it a special time without invasions of tourists and you'll feel closer to Parisian life!

Great tips! I'm leaving for Paris in a week. So far I am not doing any of the things you suggested, for the same reasons. Except for Versailles. I already bought my ticket. But I am not going to Moulin Rouge. It seemed like the Paris equivalent to Tmes Square here in New York. I am skipping the cruise, Champ Elysees, and going up the Eiffel Tower. I do want to spend more time in cafes and strolling the neighborhoods.
