The abiyah I wore to the mosque was purchased at Dubai Mall in "The Souk," it's a section of the mall that sells a bunch of these dresses, it's where I bought my kaftan also. You can bargain at these vendors, I got mine for 150 AED, which is equivalent to approx. $40 USD. Sometimes the tour group will also provide the abiyah for you, but I thought it'd be fun to buy one! :-)

really random, but could you do a closet tour? lately i've been struggling with figuring how i want to organize my skirts and random clothes that i don't have room for

you can make a table reservation inside the Burj al arab's restaurant, which allows you to go inside. its about 120 dollar per person.
