Here is the list of places mentioned in this video. If you want to skip to a chapter that interests you, you can click on the corresponding timecodes:
1. Lake Bohinj (00:52)
2. Lake Bled (02:22)
3. Vintgar Gorge (04:18)
4. Postojna Caves (05:08)
5. Predjama Castle (06:22)
6. Piran, city by the sea (07:27)
7. Maribor (10:03)
8. Ljubljana (10:28)
Here are some tips and prices:
. Lake Bohinj
We went there by bus from Bled for a day. The journey is quick (less than an hour) and we got off at the Ribčev Laz stop. Buses leave every hour. No need to book the bus in advance, you can pay the driver directly, but be careful, they only accept cash!
It takes about 4 hours to walk along the lake. + 1 hour if you want to go to the Savica waterfall. I really recommend that you start the walk on the northern shore of the lake after crossing the Ribčev Laz bridge. The South Rim is not very nice as the trail just goes along the road. In fact, I would even advise you to take the bus from Ukanc near the campsite.
.Lake Bled
Bus from Ljubljana: 5€ 1h. Buses leave every hour.
Rental of small boats per hour €20.
.Vintgar Gorge. Better to go there as soon as it opens because it gets crowded! You can buy your tickets at the Mamut agency in Bled to avoid the queue (Cesta svobode 4a, 4260 Bled, Slovenia). They also offer a shuttle that takes 15 minutes for a round trip.
. Postojna caves
You can buy tickets online ( www.postojnska-jama.eu/fr/). I advise you to take the combo ticket which includes the Predjama troglodyte castle.
. Predjama Castle.
With the audio-guide the visit was very interesting. The castle is not far from the Postojna caves (24km) so everything is doable in the same day. It is better to be transported for this excursion.
. piran
From Ljubljana: about 2 hours drive for €10.50.
In the video I talk about a beautiful view of the city, here it is: GHF9+QW Piran - Pirano, Slovenia
Ramparts: 4€
Campanile: €3 (€1.50 more if you want to enter the Saint Georges church)
I also give you the address of the terms of Portoroz because we had a hard time finding them: Obala 33, 6320 Portorož - Portorose, Slovenia. At the entrance of the building is written "term & wellness"
You will have several options, it is more expensive but I strongly advise you to include the saunas and if so take the 3 hour package (Customers are not very shy so don't be surprised to see pairs butt everywhere)
.Maribor
To get there from Ljubljana by bus for around 2 hours (11 euros).
In two or three days it's done! Do not miss the Pohorje mountain for hiking in nature. To get to the cable car, bus 6 takes you there from the city center (2 euros) this is the terminus of the line. The cable car leaves every hour and the round trip costs 7 euros.
The pyramid hill is a 20-30 minute walk from the city center. Don't go at midday as there isn't much shade. At sunset it's great.
.Ljubljana
I only stayed there for one day. It's still a small capital, I feel like I've done a lot in one day. For a cooler pace stay there maybe two days?
The number one attraction is Ljubljana Castle. 2 ways to get there: On foot it's very simple, in 15 minutes you are at the top // or by funicular.
In fact, you can enter the courtyard of the castle for free and enjoy a beautiful view from the ramparts. If you like history, you can pay to enter the museum which tells the whole story of Slovenia. The ticket also gives you access to the tower which offers the best view of the city.
Among the restaurants we tried here are some addresses:
Beld: Central bed house (the one in our hotel which is very good and reasonable for its prices) // Old cellar bled (more expensive but delicious!!!!!) // Zaka (this one is not crazy but it is located on the edge of the lake at the level of the campsite, practical when you go for a walk by the lake)
Piran:
Fritolin pri cantini +++++! Great fish and seafood, cheap located on the very friendly Place du 1er mai. We loved it so much we ate there 3 times // La bottega dei sapori (expensive and small portions but if you're in the mood for a gourmet tasting why not?)
Maribor:
Brascarsija (local barbecue specialty) // Bistro lou (Italian) // Alexander bistro (located in the main square) // Popper Pizza

Oui des bus sauf pour faire Piran - grotte Postojna . On a rencontré des gens qui nous ont conduit en voiture. Mais ça peut s’organiser facilement en train depuis Ljubljana
